  • gooooddddd

  • Seeing 2D trip was so adorable :')

  • hehehe the best band ever

    problem hatsune miku?

  • So... Hatsune who?

  • good

  • I don't get it, are they just on a screen that you don't notice or what?

  • @judefekter u see that black thing? its like a green screen in video productions..so it works as a base for the projector but they are being projected...1st step of the holograms :)

  • Muuuuurdoc is so awesome!!!! <3 I love Gorillaz!

  • i wonder who 2D was texting on stage?

  • lo q habria dado por estar en ese show!! is so fuckin awesom

  • @xdarktrollx yes they do! I'm American!by the way!!

  • Vocaloid VS Gorillaz

  • Один среди русских,и фанатов группы Горилаз :(

  • they do what miku hatsune does.

  • @koolchik1314 esto es mas antiguo que esa mierda

  • @koolchik1314 didnt they do it before vocaloid?

  • It's 2D... In 3D?

  • 'That's a rip off of vocaloid concerts' - what, and every electric guitarist is a rip off of Les Paul? Dusche.

  • who is noodle in person?

  • @IATonberry

I didn't fail because the very first vocaloid concert was at a yamaha convention in 2005 when the graphics weren't nearly as good as they are now. but they where still better than this.

  • @99percentOtaku Gorillaz also began touring live in 2005. It's because that was when technology began to become available at a reasonable price at that time. Think 5 years ago when 32" LCD TV's were still relatively expensive. Compare it to now, when you can get one for $200. To fill the stage with a screen then is ridiculous on a band's budget.

(Also Gorillaz started in 1998, while Vocaloid started in 2004. So it's still a fail to say that they ripped of a band that's 6 years younger than them)

  • Finally they made it to the stage instead of the wannabe wam-up-band. Has Murdoc learnt to open jammed doors?

  • THEY KICK ASSES! KEEP IT UP GUYZ;)

  • I would give everything I have, just to see a live concert from them >,<

To bad, I'm from the Netherlands..

  • @99percentOtaku I believe this came before the vocaloid concerts, but I think the vocaloid hologram concerts look much more realistic.

  • @99percentOtaku lol wut Gorillaz came first, didn't you see them with Madonna. :P

  • @99percentOtaku Fail comment, Learn the timeline of Vocaloids and Gorillaz

Gorillaz > Vocaloids in the time line

  • Is it only me that gets horny? :S

  • @Nuttfair Ofcourse they do -__-' The fact that there's 3D animated figures is because Gorillaz is an animated band...The members ARE 2D, Murdoc, Russle and Noodle..

  • @Nuttfair Ofcourse they do -__-' The fact that there's 3D animated figures is because Gorillaz is an animated band...The members ARE 2D, Murdoc, Russle and Noodle..

  • @Nuttfair they still get the money though

  • Te Mooi Te Gek, Te Onwerkelijk , en gaaf om te zien.

  • This is the Purest Awesomenes... :O

  • my mom actually liked this performance

  • shit is dope.

  • Anyone else feel that live rappers just..... that they're just god aweful?

  • @rachel25lee Yeh... I never liked em anyway, but it just seems they run out of breath so quickly. -.- No, i definately wouldn't have missed them. I prefer holograms only xD That makes far more sense.......

  • Its like vocaloid but better.

    so LOL your a dumbass

  • wow, it's an hologram

  • Comment removed

  • @Nuttfair uh...that's because they don't want it. damon alburn and jamie hewlett made these characters for a reason.

  • @johnhawks you forgot to mention that that makes is soo much cooler

  • @Nuttfair Isn't it beautiful? The mouse and the mask.

  • @moxanot they dont have mask. They are holograms.!

    2: 2D's on his fone :3

3: Is murdoc wearing a thong?!

  • @EZAsPi09 hahaha wouldn't doubt it.

  • @EZAsPi09 there are just holograms

  • it gets stranger...and stranger....I cannot believe that finally we have reached the point of worshipping fictional characters!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Sophiethefembot Continued…If you can create an interesting persona to go along with your art and be part of your artistic creations, then the human being creating it becomes appealing as well. Depends on how much personal attention you want. Fictional characters like gods have been worshiped forever though.

  • @mikusoniclover9 Vocaloid is a voice synthesizer program, not the Hologram technology used for the Hatsune Miku live shows. Hatsune Miku didn't exist when the Gorillaz started their hologram shows, and the Goriillaz are the colaboration of a Britsh SInger/Songwriter and a British comic book artist released through a British label so in every possible sense... No.

  • Comment removed

  • Aw. They all look so much worse in 3-D....:( Murdoc used to be hot!!! :'(

  • @mikusoniclover9 You mean The Vocaloid of the UK right...

  • @mikusoniclover9 You mean The Vocaloid of the UK...

  • @flynndean I'm pretty sure he means the Vocaloid of the entire universe.

  • the technology for this is mindboggeling. i never heard the gorillaz songs except maybe a few old music videos but i would love to go to a concert to see animation come real.

  • @FernheartOfTAPS They were supposed to have an entire tour with this kind of thing, but it was cancelled due to technology limitations, maybe in a few years, or even months, though, they can do this on tour. A Gorillaz tour of Europe would be incredible.

  • They don't do this anymore, lol.

  • i think the only downside to using the holograms is that every concert would be the same if the animators were lazy but I'd still pay to see it

  • 1:35 LOL Someone was trying to touch his penis :3.

  • @StephanieSituation omg ur so friken right when i saw u were right i butsted out lauphing nice catch :3

  • Whoa, that was just a bit creepy.... I love the band but..... yeah. 0_0

  • how the hell did they do that?

  • @Gonaddikks Pretty sure they take these giant television like screens, make a 3D animation, and just play it on them c: Quite a simple concept really.

  • @xXRyuuWolfXx oh yeah. your right. its is simple

  • @xXRyuuWolfXx Your theory is flawed, and as with Vocaloid you're right, but with this performance, pay attention to the -real- stool that Noodles sits on and is shown sitting on. There can't be a screen going THRU the chair like that.

  • @RobbyFennec I'm not so sure... The stool Noodle sits on looks kinda animated to,,, That might just be me though. But I don't see any other way they could've done it. I'd like to hear how you think its set up though c:

  • @RobbyFennec if they can't get the video to go through the stool, then how did they get it through De La Soul?

  • Comment removed

  • Dude if people are all okay about this then why are they dishing MIKU? stupid :/ .. it's sad how narrow minded some people are D:

  • Tsss

  • he's texting me ;)

  • @lovelee182 Lol it's not it's me! :D

  • @YuukoSadness lol maybe it is u...

  • @lovelee182 Hehehe :D greetings!

  • lol 2d fell asleep :D

  • More please is cool

    I love Gorillaz

  • they should do this at every concert. i hate it when you go to a concert of theirs and its people covering the songs. ALL OF THE CONCERTS SHOULD BE HOLOGRAPHIC!

  • i like very much gorillaz but....the diference between they and the vocaloids is....vocaloids sings always incredible

  • Both vocaloid and gorillaz are pretty bad ass if i do say so myself

  • panget baduy

  • @mikusoniclover9 Great video. What does it mean "vocaloid" ?

  • @mikusoniclover9

comparing Gorillaz to Vocaloid or implying Gorillaz is American, I don't know what's worse

  • isnt Gorillaz a collabo of various artist from diff places?

  • @mikusoniclover9 That's a fucking insult to Gorillaz.

  • @trixdoubledope I would. It's live music AND a hologram :D

  • @mikusoniclover9 Yup... I can never choose wich one I like more.. > w <

  • 2-D in 3-D:D

  • какой он милый 2-D**)

  • That's epic

  • lol 2d on his cellphone during the first rap part

  • @trixdoubledope Damn I would!

  • Obvious lip sync.

  • @trixdoubledope yeah! its nonesense! like going to watch movies in a movie theather!

who the fack would pay to go and see a movie in a movie theather if you can Download it, or watch it on tv!

    ....

    i would.

  • @trixdoubledope I would if someone ever makes one, but there is no such thing as a moving hologram proyected in mid air...yet! As far as I know, Miku and Gorillaz are FLAT proyections. Miku in semitraslucent screens and Gorillaz on the ceiling behind those heavy curtains. So Obi Wan you are our only hope is not yet posible...

  • I want to be there so freaking much

  • @SensationalSnow

    She is not a band.

  • @LenMikuLuka its not a band because is a ologram and because that is a thing

  • That a software program can be that popular is really a testament to the creativity, hard work, and ingenuity of both Yamaha and Crypton Media.

As for the gorrillaz, they seem pretty cool but depend a bit much on random stars to boost their acts. I mean really, bruce willis in one and madonna in another? At least Miku is expected to entertain by herself. But to each their own.

  • Why the hell is there a heated discussion 'bout Miku and the GORILLAZ???

Here's something simple. HATSUNE MIKU AND THE GORILLAZ ARE BOTH AWESOME. .3. btw wouldn't you try to protect something you loved and people were ...err lets justs say "attacking" him/her/it?

Let's just leave it at "THEY'RE BOTH AWESOME!!" And enjoy their live concerts >:U

  • The real guys don't even have to be there.

  • Holy shit!!!! They have legit concerts?!?!? I wanna go <3333333

  • @cottoncandy113 They broke up months ago.

  • @sircork Oh, is their new C.D. not really new then? I just got back into them again.

  • You can't really blame people for comparing holographic shows. It's a lot closer than comparing two movies that contain one actor. People are going to do it regardless. Even g4tv's attack of the show, when they did a short on Miku, said "how about some collab with the gorrillaz" and I guess that's what set everyone off.

Some of the Miku fans do tend to be a little crazy when it comes to protecting her and this is just the fallout of that.

  • Well, the Japanese have always beaten the world as far as technology goes. Practically everything that has a circuit board in it is created in Japan or by a Japanese company these days.

Miku has a high pitched voice because they sampled a girl with a high pitched voice when they created her. The Japanese lover their high pitched pop singers. There are other vocaloid that are lower pitched. luka is not bad.

  • @Deadeye313

Beh, what ever you say, I still like to hear real people that took effort in singing. Programming some crap to make fake music is not effort, anyone can do it, you can also modify voices so I wouldnt doubt if they just picked off anyone from the street just to make a 'voice' and modified it to make it 'perfect'.

Singers who busted their ass everyday and became famous yet still unherd of. I'd take that. Thank you.

  • @Scarpaw1 Well Vocaloid was, in the beginning, likely designed for exactly what you just pointed out. Any guy in their garage or basement could make music with nothing more than a a music synthesizer (i.e. a keyboard), the voice synthesizer and a song in their heart.

Then Crypton came along and created a monster called Hatsune Miku; arguably one of the best JPOP voices ever and the rest is history. Even many of Miku's best songs reflect that original intention.

  • Perfect *.*

  • BTW, I reject the notion that the singer has to be a real person. First and foremost when going to a concert or listening to the music should be the enjoyment of the music. It should not be who or what is singing the song. If it's a human being good for them, if it's a computer, remember that it took a human time and effort to compose what the computer is singing.

Whatever's on stage, never forget the most important reason you should be there: the music itself.

  • @Deadeye313 Even so, I still dont get why people compare them just because they both have holographic concerts. The same the with Harry Potter and Twilight, only because they had had the same actor, they're compared. If both books were never turned to movies, they both would have never been compared as much as they are now. That goes for /anything/ well known that has something similar. The fact that real good songs are never well known because of the shit today. I'm not talking about Gorillaz.

  • @Deadeye313 Sorry about that, I meant japan* and the second post I meant "And I'm not talking about the Gorillaz only"

  • -Gen5 is cartoon with voice synthesizer (Vocaloid) and human band, simulated interaction.

-Gen6 is vocaloid, human band, truly interacts fully with humans.

-Gen7 is androids, we're probably a while away from that (even the Japanese).

Vocaloid is Gen5 artificial voice, live band, simulated interaction. "Uraomote lovers Miku Hatsune live HD with English sub" <- What a Gen5 can do.

  • They should do a concert with vocaloids! Odd mixture, but it would get soooo many audience members!

  • WHERE THE HECK IS NOODLE

  • @electrikjoeltv Did you notice her come in and play her guitar she was the one sitting in the stoll

  • vocaloid singing made from computer use vocaloid soft.

(You can buy it for make music.)

    Gorillaz is people band.

  • Why do people keep comparing these to the vocaloids!? Sure they use holograms but the vocaloids aren't real people it's computerized the gorillaz on the other hand are actually people who use holograms during their concerts. But none the less they are both epic.

  • All of Miku's vocals are created using the Yamaha Vocaloid software and a supplied sampling of words. No other band in the world does that. To interact with a Vocaloid, you're on her timetable, noone else's.

This was cool but in a vocaloid concert, the vocaloid is by itself with a live backup band. The hard part is keeping up with her. go watch the 39 giving day concert; much more involved. not to offend the gorillaz but they're little more than cartoons with an intermission for the humans.

  • @Deadeye313

Fake voices in all their music vids. Computer generated and rapes ears with its high pitch.

Gorillaz has REAL people in their music videos and concert.

Don't compare two completly different bands, they have absolutly nothing to do with each other.

  • @Scarpaw1 They're actually sort of in the same generational series of artificial bands. Gen 1 would be a live human band but artificially brought together: think the monkees from the 60s.

-Gen2 is the cartoon bands of the 70s like josie and the pussy cats and their ilk, cartoons with human recordings.

-Gen3 cartoons, recorded humans, on stage, no interaction.

-Gen4 would be cartoon with live band, recorded human. simulated interaction, maybe.

Gorrillaz is gen 3.5. barely any interaction.

  • @Deadeye313

Even so, they're two completely different bands with different music genere. Vocaloid was a progrm, then people started making it into what it is now. Gorillaz was made before that, like I said, it has real voices not hight pitch fake computer generated. All those gens you mentioned had real people who sung them.

The only reason Vocaloid is so popular is because its japan made, and you know how the world lurvs japane and its flat chested desu girls. Its rather sad :/

  • Hatsune Miku is way better. Cuz She has two versions and is the first holographic pop star.

But theis guys rock cus i can under stand more.

  • Vocaloid is a computer program that synthesizes a singing voice. Performing as a hologram is a natural progression for a Vocaloid. Gorrillaz is just a regular living, breathing band that uses holograms to be quirky. I don't know why anyone would compare the two. It would be like comparing two bands simply because they both have a laser light show during the concert...

  • thass baddass howw theyy did that

  • This with Miku? Sorry guys, way way too different music. A JPOP hologram and, what is this? Grunge? that's like combining night and day. Besides, Miku's way out of these guys' leagues.

  • haha WTF!!
