  • Novation Launchpad + Korg nanoKONTROL or nanoKONTROL2 is much cheaper than Akai APK40. Why pay more when you can have approximately the same thing for much less?

  • So awesome man....i listen to this everyday, everytime. x)

  • this sounds great man, keep it up!

    I just ordered a Launchpad + Nano 2.

    Wish me luck

  • im thinking of doing a setup with just the launchpad and nanokontrol :)

  • good stuff dud!! :p

  • Hey man nice work I really enjoyed the vibe. Reminds me somewhat of Ulrich Schnauss. If I had one constructive criticism I would say possibly lower the threshold on your compressor to increase the sidechain effect, I think this might give your tunes more of a nice pumping flow. Also play with the release as I think this is set a couple of ms too high. Just my opinion but all in all great work!

  • fuck that was epic.

  • @ 1:03, that almost..skipping effect. is it on ableton and/or how triggered by the nanokontrol? you are really helping me feel good about buying this exact set

REALLY awesome my friend. Let me ask you, as I plan on buying the launchpad, as well as the kontrol after watching videos like yours, but how do you feel about that keyboard size? ever want one thats 41/49 keys when you are messing around with it or are you ok with it?

  • @dannnywey yeah its a good setup, everything is midi controlled. Everything is set up in ableton already. My nanoKontrol is midi mapped to some type of effect on that track. Different parts of the nanoKontrol, different channels and effects. Pretty easy to do once you figure out some cool effects. The keyboard is fine for me, i've never really needed anything else. I'm more of a producer than a performer. Can't play piano to save my life unfortunately...

  • @officialExcerpt i am the same way haha, but i can sit in-front of a piano and within 20 minutes have an ok melody going... i have been self learning ableton for some weeks now and pretty much think ill have your exact set up soon. i appreciate the quick response my friend.

any tips in general? :p actually also curious about your samples or sounds...do you use packs....what ones, how did you get/make your sounds.

i have downloaded 23 gb's of audio to get going with ableton.

  • @dannnywey For drums I use SM101 kicks and vengeance sample packs. Synths I use a mix of software synths like Sylenth1 (for leads and chords) and Massive (for basslines). Then i'll mess around with effects on them. Usually delay and reverb then i'll reverse some stuff and chop up and copy paste small sections. Just experiment and don't worry about the small stuff. As long as it's in key and goes with the beat.. Its your music, after all.

  • Dude this is great nice job! & I have a question what is that attachment called under the launchpad?

  • @rapfreak17 Thanks. Under the launchpad is the Korg NanoKontrol. It has some faders and toggle switches that you can use for separate tracks.

  • @officialExcerpt did you ever think about getting an apc40?

  • @theman6948 yeah, check out my newer video with a little apc40/iPad action..

  • great work dude:)

  • You´re excellent!

  • You should DJ at clubs :o

  • @HdSsKaTeR Thanks! That's one of my plans..

  • @officialExcerpt Welcome! But is the Novation launchpad worth it?

  • @SunkistSwagFX Theres a lot you can do with it. Did you see my other video of it with programmed lights? I usually use it to trigger quick effects.

  • Updated video online now. Check out some new songs..

  • Video upload incoming... New songs, new equipment, and new "light" show.

  • I used a toggle to turn the auto pan on full. It shifts between full volume and no volume at 1/16th interval. Really simple effect and very effective..

  • how do you do that thing at 1:03 ?

what is that called? the fast muting thing.

  • @extremeguitarshredr

as far as i know it's called "stuttering" or "beat-grid"

  • what was the effect at 1:03?

  • @justinhatesyou123 haha i just asked the same question! I mean I know its called "gating" but i dont know how to do it on ableton...

  • sweet setup

  • @Dcarrieta9 Thanks! Just wait till you see the new setup...

  • what is that stand that you have your launchpad on?

  • @xSparky117x its a laptop stand

  • write here the two links of this two songs please guys

  • what is the name of this song??

  • @giovyyeah88 first song is Decept, second one is Revolve. Both original songs by me. Stay tuned for some new material and a video with an APC40 and iPad combo..

  • @officialExcerpt write down here the two links of the two songs in the video please ;)

  • @giovyyeah88 they are currently unreleased

  • come si chiama la canzone?

  • really good atmosphere: )

  • @no0kieNRW thanks! check out my other songs

  • @officialExcerpt how hard was it to learn to use the launchpad? from what ive seen and read it looks like each button plays a pre determined clip but is it hard to keep track of which button plays which clip? also how difficult was this to set up wit hother midi controlers cuz i have a few that i can c myself usin at the same time as this

  • @elixer6x6x6 it's extremely easy to use. I have predetermined clips set where each horizontal line is a different section of the song so that i can launch that whole section at the same time. From there i can take away or add clips to mix it up. I recently added the Akai Apc40 and iPad touchOSC to my setup. There are times that the midi info conflicts with the other devices but as long as you manually set up most of it there won't be many problems.

  • This is some solid launchpad use my friend. I gotta get one of these. Did you compose this in ableton or use something else to make the clips?

  • @THX10538 thanks! All the clips are slices from some of my completed songs. The launchpad is great for changing the original song and doing different combinations.

  • @LeisureCentury Yeah, after listening to some of their songs I did notice some similarities. Some parts are very old school electronica..

  • @LeisureCentury Thanks for the compliments!

  • do you think you could send me the als files?

  • this is super doooope

  • @hitmanitaliano Thanks man, means a lot. These are actually 3 month old versions. I'm posting my current version of Revolve in a couple days. I'll let you know.

  • nice, i have the same setup i love the nanoKontrol.

  • @ace101guy It's a great setup, although since I bought the APC40 I'm finding fewer uses for the nanoKontrol... I'd like to find something else to use it for

  • hey man!! this is really good!

  • What samples do you use?

  • @swiftninja1337 Sylenth1 for synths, Goldbaby XRB samples for drums

  • Are you using the LPK25 as your main keyboard?

This is good stuff btw :)

  • @swiftninja1337 Thanks! I appreciate it. Yeah the LPK25 is my main for basic recording. It's a great keyboard and extremely portable.
