Egyszer együtt szerepeltünk egy fesztiválon a Nagyszebeni Katonai Népi együttessel. Eleinte kerültek minket. Furcsán néztek ránk Magyarokra. De este a hotelben eljátszottunk nekik egy román Geamparalelét, és amint meghallották a dallamot, kíváncsian közelebb jöttek hozzánk. Ők is felvették a hangszereiket, és magyar csárdásokat kezdtek játszani. Nagyon nagy élmény volt, nagyon jól esett. A zenében közös nevezőre jutottunk.

Onnantól kezdve hajnalig mulattunk, muzsikáltunk együtt. Nem kérdeztük, hogy ki honnan való, hiszen köztük is volt szász(germán),vagy magyar származású, de köztünk is volt olyan akinek sváb (germán) szlovák, szerb vér is csörgedezett az ereiben. A lényeg az volt, hogy önfeledten mulattunk. Akkor határoztam el, hogy szeretnék foglalkozni a román népzenével is!

A Kárpát medencében járva bárhol gyűjtöttünk muzsikát, mindenhol szívélyes fogadtatásban részesültünk. Azonnal meleg étel és ital került az asztalra, még ha idegenek voltunk is. Huculok, ruténok, szerbek, románok tótok, svábok vegyesen lakott területek... a tapasztalatuk mindig pozitív volt.
