  • there's something wrong with the microphone...so she looks try so hard balancing her voice with the music

  • i love anggun

  • The translation roughly is : I hope the morning sun does not greet me I hope the moon shuts my eyes Forever Since you have gone leaving this earth Leaving me here at this place Bring down the sun Chase away the stars Turn North to South What is this all for again ? Take this fractured soul I do not want it anymore Cut off all the earthly connections (lit: all earthly placentae and umbilical cords ) I want to go Towards the eternal
  • To the one person who voted this video down, do you even know the meaning of Selamanya? In Bahasa Indonesia (or Bahasa Melayu) the words are: Ku harap mentari pagi tak menyembut - Ku harap sinar rembulan tutup mata ku - Selamanya - Forever Sejak kau pergi tiggalkan bumi- Tinggalkan ku di sini - Turunkan matahari - Usir bintang-bintang - Putarlah utara ke selatan Untuk apa lagi semuanya? Ambillah jiwa retak ini Ku tak ingin lagi Ptutskan ari-ari bumi Aku ingin pergi Menuju abadi
  • I love this song So much.

  • Terima kasih!

  • I saw Anggun when she opened for Natalie Merchant (1998). I was standing in front of the stage talking to a girl I just met. Everyone talks during opening acts, but when she started "Rose In The Wind", the entire place stopped talking & we were hypnotized by this powerful voice. It was a moment I'll never forget. I'll never forget her staring at me & singing this.

  • @tomdib

saw her sitting infront of her mirror in her dressing room filled with people, with her long shiny dark hair hanging on her back, a man told me this woman has a powerful voice. I was also amazed when I first heard her song snow in the saharaI even now I can still remember her songs.

  • I wish Anggun's newer stuff had more of this experimental, haunting quality. I found out about her while flipping through the channels at midnight and running across Session at W. 54th Street--I was fascinated by her and this fusion-style music. Her voice is totally surprising, and she is stunningly beautiful. Wish she'd revisit this style and come back!

  • i like how she plays with her hands.. fantastic!

  • who is that guitar player? amazing playing!

  • Anggun, your gorge!!!!

  • SHE IS ONE OF THE 3 women who sounds like man voice, apart from Cher and Jessica Folker.... :P love the 3 of you!!!

  • she is amazing... love u anggun...

  • Great Voice, just close your eyes and listen to the surf the wind and her voice!

  • Great lady...

  • when i first heard her many years ago, she was performing "promise me" at french tv...it was just wonderfull....i ve forgotten her name....and today after about seven years ago..i finally found her again...THANK YOU for posting!

    greetings from germany

  • it's little hard to listen if u don't like an experimental pop singing style. but this is fascinating one. even though i dont know her at all!

  • In a more just universe, this performance would have made her a superstar. It's just beyond amazing.

  • just thought u might wanna know the first songs direct translation to english i hope that morning wouldnt come to take me, i hope the moon shines closes my eyes forever, since you go away from earth( died), you left me here, put down the sun, chase away the stars, change(flip) the north to south (a deep religious word that means judgement day/end of world), take this broken soul, i dont it anymore, cut the umbilical cord of earth(eeeps), i want to go, towards infinity....forever sad song
  • @hohoman16 : LOL. So you're Indonesian too? Well I do know what the song "Selamanya" means, but I must say that your translation is hands down the best I've encountered so far! :)

    Terima kasih banyak ya...

  • actually im not indonesian....malaysian....

and i just happen to love languages,on my way towards my 6th now....might stop at 13.....or die first since it will be too much information.

    ahhaha, dang

  • whew, for real?! you seriously would like to master 13 languages? i've just started studying french, and it's pretty crazy already. so... :)

  • well,

thats the plan, dont know if i will succeed haha....we shall see.

truth be told, im having problems at 6 already, tried learning russian and german last year....just decided its too much at a time....

i have this minor confusion, sometimes i mix my words and i began to generalize people(not good). i will automatically speak the language which what i thinks he/she looks like.

so for e.g, if i were to talk to a indonesia, and i thought he look spanish, so ill converse in spanish

    dang

  • @hohoman16 : Capisci anche me ?

  • capisco, ma il mio italiano e ancora debole

    saluti

  • gosh...so good..even better than the recorded one..

  • Wow! I really like this song and also the 'Snow of the Sahara'.

I feel like i am flying into the moon.

    Hahaha... yeah really.

  • Anggun masih sanagt cinta dengan Indonesia, setiap albumnya pasti ada lagu indonesia nya,...so lets l;ove our country,..GREAT INDONESIA

  • haha. why ? 'everybody love oprah'. right ?

  • nop :P

  • @atyn31 Yes please, shes very talented,

  • How emotional... superb!! She is a great actress, too (in a positive sense of the word)

  • Superb.!! nice performance,

     Go Anggun!!

  • angguuuuuuuuuuuuun, suaRamu berkelas internasional

  • I'd like to ask to the Americans, why Asian artists never got success in USA, even a great and beautiful singer like Anggun...???

  • white supremacy

just look what happen to michael jackson

  • Actually, Anggun had three hits on the Billboard charts, Coco Lee had heavy radio play, Tata Young receieved outstanding reviews for her American concert, Utada is doing national works, SE7EN is giving concerts, and Kyu Sakamoto had a number one hit for three weeks with "Sukiyaki", so you can't really say that Asian artists never had success.

And honestly, saying "white supremecy" was entirely uncalled for, especially since White people are now considered a minority.

  • not to mention wondergirls invasion of radio with their addictive "nobody" song...

  • I'm American and I find Anggun absolutely phenomenal.

  • @Kittysafe yes her "Snow on The Sahara" was storm in US that time i remember watching Rosie O Donnell presented her as guest star

  • @silence877

Because the majority of Americans (not all) have an anxiety of invasion.

  • Great Voice n Nice Song...muaaaaaaaaaaah

  • PARIS love U too

  • Anggun, You are so amazing! You take my breath away.

  • I would love to hear Rose in the Wind in the original Indonesian. Does anyone know of a video with that?

  • French version: "La Rose des Vents

English version: "A Rose in the Wind"

    Indonesian version: "Kembali"

    Love them all... :)

  • I can't find any audio files of the full version of Kembali. Do you know where I could? It's my favorite.
