dumbest video comments iv ever seen. dont comment unless u know what ur talking about.. that is a green anaconda NO DOUBT... you think thats a ball (royal) python? sorry they dont get NEAR that size
@SoRRowx2L1fe well there are still places 4 the snakes and all the other animals of the world 2 live in/jungles in Africa have a very goo habitat 4 these
why keeping an anaconda, an animal, in a prison? why should he deserve that? are we more important then him? is fun playing with life? do we really need to see animals in prison? do you really think is that right?
think of it like this... would you rather have a nice warm home where you get treated well, have lots of food and get lots of attention? or would you rather be hunted and killed in the wild? also.. heck yes, we are much, much more important than a snake. if you dont think he deserves being in the zoo, you can go trade places with him.
do you really think that you need to tear up over it, its an animal who wouldnt be doing much different if it were in the animal kingdom , im sure whoever is keeping it has the perfect condition for the snake to live , with a steady source of food
Alot of reptiles don't get around much, some are pretty much stationary, they don't leave their territory. That's why this anaconda's enclosure is so small.
I'm a reptile person, I research alot about lizards, snakes, etc. You on the other hand...lets see...I bet you like trees. So just do me and all the other people that haven't had their brains rot, and keep your treehugger self out of the natural order of things.
By preserving an animal in an enclosure, we both maintain its chances of survival and aid in education about these wonderful creatures. Its easy to say something is true (look at anybody who believes in the 9/11 "truth" movement) but to actually display the truth is much more difficult (look at finale for any X Files season.)
@ShadeofChaoS ok obviously, you havn't come back from the 70s you stupid ignorant hippie. We do this, so the vast majority of humans can learn about these animals. You do realise we are one of the two only creatures that can reason? If we never did this, and they weren't kept in capitivity, they would still be a mystery to us. Honestly, survival of the fittest, and that happens to be those with the biggest brains.

I don't like this video because it shows how stupid zoos are, a bunch of people pointing at u and taking pictures while you get stuck in a cage about 3 times the size of you, if it was me, i'd kill myself after the first month...
i have one and people have the wrong idea about snakes.they are not bad at all but people get an idea and dont think anything else. Some people love dogs and some dont I love snakes and some people dont, and I dont want people jumping on me.
Son,if you don't know the difference between a Green Anaconda(which this is..and I know,'cos I know what one looks like...I keep 'em) and a Royal Python, then you really shouldn't be keeping snakes at all....holy fuck....
Y'know, I guess the folks at the St. Louis zoo are morons and don't know the difference. You might want to contact them to let them know, since they ignorantly have the exhibit listed as being an anaconda. Stupid herpetologists!
yeh ok its very hard to tell but i could just see the way it moves if it were an anaconda the neck would be bigger and the eyes would be considerably bigger aswell ;)
carmanic95, you are an idiot. The snake in this video is a green anaconda. I have extensive experience with snakes and that is beyond a shadow of a doubt a green anaconda.
A royal (or ball) python is 2 shades of brown and only gets between 3 and 5 feet. They actually used to sell them at WalMart believe it or not. I have been caretaker for many snakes including the Green Anaconda and this snake is the Green Anaconda.
@carmaniac95 no its a green anaconda you jackass. look at its green tint, yellow belly, and the eyes that are placed on top of its head to give it 360 degrees vision. its an anaconda. im pretty sure animal experts at a zoo would know that.
@carmaniac95 no that is a green anaconda. Green Anaconda's have the red band behind their eyes, a green body with black spots, and a yellow colored belly. This is no royal python, this is a green anaconda.
@carmaniac95 A royal python is also a ball python and adults royal/balls are much smaller than that. Plus I've never seen a royal python with the same paint job as a Green Anaconda...just saying
Think what you say before say anything :D Thats 100% anaconda :D Royal python eyes are much much away each other, color pattern is wrong for royal python, that neck is absolutely anaconda's neck. Or can you say your python's neck is same wide what its head? i dont think so ;) Also class doesnt need to be extreme thick when it is bulletproof class :D :D
I have several royal pythons, and can tell you that tdefinately isn't one, and definately is a green anaconda (which is more than apparent to anybody that has seen one before due ot the pattern and head shape), not a particularly big one, but then the males tend the be very small in comparrison to a full grown female. Tbh I find the fact that you think this is a royal python either proof that you are a) blind or b) don't actually own a royal python...
that shoulder stuff is bullshit. if the snake is big enough, say 25-33 ft it can eat a full grown man no problem. their jaws stretch open extremely far. African rock pythons eat full grown gazelles whose antlers are wider than a man's shoulders.
its possible that they CAN eat humans, but chances are higher of you getting killed by a crow than an anaconda (depending on your size of course) a full grown male and female (generally the Asian population is shorter so they may be exempt on some occasions)would not draw the attention of an anaconda teens would be possible to eat still unlikely, an infant almost no doubt about it, but it depends on the persons size and the snakes, anacondas are usually fairly large but only the huge ones try us
Oh, they might try, they definitely kill (a 13-foot pet killed a 15-year-old once) but our shoulders pose a problem for swallowing and our size would make us take a while to digest even if we did go down at the right angle.
They only squeeze enough to suffocate. Broken bones are a side effect and are not as significant as you would think. The bone/joint structure of the human shoulder would also make it difficult to break from side to side - the shoulders would just move with the squeeze.
tell this guy mate breaks bones well it does but think of it crushing bones ant going to kill you it will put you into cardiac arrest(stop the blood from flowing)
