Fluffy, I'm not quite sure what you mean by "The majority of biodiesel plants have or will incorporate coal" biodiesel is made from living things like plants hence the "bio" prefix. As I'm sure you are already aware coal, on the other hand, is a fossil fuel. Do you mean that biodiesel plants will use electricity made by coal power plants? I think you are confusing biodiesel with GTL diesel made from coal.
As of April08'1/4 of US Biodiesel Plants are idle due to price of feedstock soybean priced by the pound exceeds the price of crude oil. The bulk of US Biodiesel is exported to the EU..A nexus of Coal Industry and Government officials have devised a way to bring back the sagging fortunes of the coal industry.
