I think the combination of the music and the video presented as the intro for the game make a great combination of epicness both in sound and visual beauty, and yeah datalogs are meant for those who are interested in what's really happening in depth in the game, and thats me :P

Im not a huge fan of this FF. i mean, the story is kinda confusing unless you read the datalogs (or read the books... ive done neither) and its actually kinda boring. no exploration.

i DID like the combat and music though.

you know i thought this game would be terrible and i just HAVE to tell the story of how my mind changed in like....5 seconds!!! ok so i wanted to at least try this game out (after i thought it was terrible) sense i saw so many comercials of it on t.v but my friend gave me disk 2 and 3 NOT 1 T.T but i still tryed it out to at least see the title and when i heard serahs theme i fell in love with this and FORCED my mom to go out and but it the VERY same day! :D ff13 FTW!!!!!!

This is the first Final Fantasy i didn't play to conclusion. So long air ship, and free roam.  This game is without any options, and completely garbage. The music however is impressive!
