nice, i have the same exact laptop accept mine is from the christmas of 2008. you can imagine how much has went wrong XD battery life has diminished to about an hour. overheats like an sob. just recently started getting blue screens (hard drive malfunction if you didnt know) (this is mainly because i have no life and play minecraft all day everyday XD and so my best guess is that the hard drive is melting) ive gotten a program to monitor the temp untill i get a cooling system for it. i also pla

my problem is: when I am going to listen to music on the TV(with HDMI cable) I get the picture but Not the sound. and I go to the sound program(IDT audio) and it sayes that the HDMI entry is disabled. and there is no button that says Activate. can u help me ?

go to start, the control panel, then find sound, select or light light HDMI output then set as default.See if that wil work, I have to do the same thing everytime i use the HDMi cable. When you get done with the HDMI cable you have to set the sound back to your pc speackers.

@wildbill2166 thx alot. first I coulden't find it because it wasen't in the box. but for no reason i right clicked and there it stood: show only activated... somthing. and I changed it to show all... something :P. bt thank you :D:D

this laptop is shit fam i got 1 , it overheats , the mouse click plays up , the chargers r dogey and so is the keyboard. and it doesnt have a wav or stereo mix! i didnt realise till i paid like £450 for it

The basic rule of thumb is this; if you can plug something into it, it's a port, if you cant, it isnt....

No the HDMI port is optional the model costs more. I have the same one but no HDMI port under there there is just nothing.

@cruzito408 Yes your computer does not have one if you wanted one it would be about $25 more. You could always get a VGA to HDMI adapter.

i tried doing it myself but i broke my laptop.

the laptop brand people have to do it, they have a special tool

About a year ago I got a CQ60... it's not bad, basically an older version of this. It's running Win 7 and is going fine =P

The CQ60's not even an older version, it's pretty much the same computer in terms of hardware, and depending which one you got, HDD Size or memory. The CQ70 just has a bigger screen.

not the best for gaming. brill for movies though. has integrated graphics. it will happily run the first dawn of war but after that it struggles.

on the side of the laptop there is a port to plug in the HDMI cable.........the other plugs in the HDMI port loacated at the back of the TV...............

It is a well-equipped laptop. I should probably get it when this HP one gets out of date.

It's got everything this one has, but more. It's got all the HDMI's, inputs, and plug-ins.

It's funny that my HP G50 Notebook has Altec Lansing printed on the keyboard just like the Compaq one. The whole keyboard and the components, including the mouse pad, are exactly the same.

because Compaq is owned by HP, and they are actually 100% the same, just different brand name. Most people get them mixed up. so if someone says "I have a compaq" you can say "oh sweet u bought an hp?"

I have this laptop and it's good for the money, i have had mine for about a year but the laptop doesn't seem to have been put together very well. It is litrally falling apart, Like where the screen and keyboard etc is joined at the back, it's coming apart and stuff. A pity

Oh and also, it heats up very quickly and gets hot quick, when on high performance. That is obviously bound to happen but it gets way too hot, like it litrally burns to touch.

mine doesn't get very hot at all (I have a CQ 70 211em) my fiend had a laptop that used to get too hot and i was pleased that mine at worst gets very warm.

Yeh, it recently got really bad, that i could not shut it because it would completely break off. So i got the details off currys and sent it off and all, got it back after less than a week(really good). It was the hinge that controls it shutting. It's all good now. And it only gets very hot when on high performance and the screen is bright. ^_^

have you tried playing any games on this PC? because from some of the review i have seen on the internet these are not very good for gaming because of the slow processor and the shared video memory. But if it can play something i would be very happy seeing as how mine is coming in two days!

well i am on the laptop right now! I dont really suggest it for hardcore games, i would look at other HP Models or Even Toshiba. But if you are looking for a web browsing movie watching SOB Then this is that laptop for you!

acctually no! no problems so far! The only thing i noticed is, i got mine refurbished and i don't have HDMI. i have the slot for it but i cant plug anything in, which is weird but i can live with it. Other then that it is a great laptop for the money

well it is when someone buys the laptop new then sends it back to the company because something is wrong with it, then the company fixes what is wrong with the laptop and re sells it for a reduced price. Mine for instance had a problem with the power supply so it was returned and fixed and i got it almost half off it was great :D
