  • here's an idea...catch a carp, blow up balloon to 5 feet of line and hook it on his fin LMAO. cast near the balloon your good to go for the day :)

  • omfg its clled mark up clip ur line on marker rod then walk it out on the bank with both rods then cast out the rod that your fishing with and then done so u dont neeed to keep scaring the fish away and if u ont want a tangled rig on the cast just use some pva foam

  • In the USA we have a thing called a fish finder that will tell you how deep, what kind of sediment and the kind of fish that are down there.

Matt Hayes is a fine angler and I often use his videos to fish when ever i am in england.

Here in America carp are considered garbage sucker fish and we usually cut them up to use as bait to catch giant catfish or lake trout.

  • what reel are they using

  • lool u nonce rideXD is talkin scence unlike stravaigar hahah

  • I am only 11 and even i know that if you casted that close to the marker you will 60% of the time hit snag!

  • i found this kinda... well.. unnecessary if it was for new people.

you don't want to limit yourself by casting at the same spot. fish are everywhere !

cast it maybe 15 feet away from you. if it don't work out, hey, cast it farther where there's more depth . fish aren't picky at all. leave everything simple as is. if it catches fish then yeah do whatever works for you!

  • @khmerkr

good point like but if its a new lake and your only fishing it for a day you want to optomize your changes of catching so casting to a spot in the lake that is likely to hold fish is more likely to produce than just casting aimlessly and scattering bait everywhere.

  • @TheFalkSquad

yeah that too. it all depends. if they just stocked the lake, and they're schooling then you want to cast at the same spot if you know where the fish are at.

  • well would say to fsh where is your father lolz

  • the definition of what you would call a "Country Mile"!

  • I know where I live using 4 rods is Illegal.. We can only use 1 rod that's it.....

  • like his rod

  • hey any fishing lovers check my channel out lots of reviews and bait videos up and coming soon

  • If i catch a fish in the night and i want to cast pretty much to the same spot i simply grab the fish and say to it "look you slimy shithead, your gonna tell me where your mates hang out or i will pull your scales off one by one then rub you in salt" hope this helps, works for me.

  • @stravaigar

HaHa!! I thought it was just me that did that!!

  • @stravaigar wow not too much of a nob, didnt know we had a comedian in the house, would be ok if you actually knew what you were talking about, come back and adress me when you bank your first carp

  • @MrJakeb4 Hi fuckface no way will i ever bank a carp, i will leave that pleasure to ugly perverts with personality disorders and b.o while i fish for genuine wild trout who are being hooked for the first time. cheers ya dobber.

  • @stravaigar ok pro

  • @stravaigar LOOL

    JUST LOOOL

  • If I catch a fish in the night and I want to cast to pretty much the same spot I don't do as Matt suggests - with my sliding knot which is visible in the dark I simply cast out and look for the marker knot then wind in if necessary until the market knot is showing at the end ring, no need to clip the line as he suggests.

  • are you not worried about digging the hook in the bottom or a leaf or twig by reeling back along the bottom? I would never be confident doing that.

  • No I'm not worried about that, it's surprising just how much you can see in the dark. And I know how much power to put in to a cast to where I'm fishing in the dark.

  • @runtheworks

you dont reel your hook bait back once youve cast or if you are that worried you can use presentation foam around the hook or place the entire rig into a PVA bag or a PVA mesh stik mix

  • No its not true!!

  • is it true matt has now sponsered by grandeslam and left tfg gear??????

  • there is need for marker float so u know what your fishing over so u know the depth and what rig u have to use on what your fishing over if its weed have 10 12 inch hooklink gravel short 3ich 4 inch silt u can use a helicopter rig or a long hook link

  • I'l admit he's a really good carp angler but there's no need for a marker float really

  • A marker float is used to explore the bottom of the lake, such as gravel, weed, holes etc etc, its not just used to mark a spot on a lake to fish lol. A marker float is a massive must on very big lakes if you are wanting to maximise your chances.

  • not if you wanna catch pasty's!

  • And i Hate YOU!!!

  • I hate him!

    Damn Noob!

  • whoooo masive cast

  • Marker float fishing is good for carp fishing but i prefer ledger :] haha lol

  • you clearly dont know what your talking about, you dont use a marker float to catch the carp! , You use it to explore the lakebed and mark where your swim is

  • @rideXD you hit the nail on the head , matt hayes talks aload of bolloks!

  • @rideXD

hes not gonna use the marker float to catch the fish u nutta

  • @rideXD He abviously knows more than you because he isnt using a marker float to catch them just so he knows were to cast

  • @carpcatcher1992 what the fuck are you on about :D, you think you catch the fish with the float? :D, next joke

  • Always bring your camera. We lost a big one that nobody beleives. You know the story.

  • hes a legend and an amazing caster!!!!!!

  • All that for carp fishing???

  • yep if it wasnt for tht kind of thing i wouldnt have had my biggest carp wich was about 17lb not big by everyones standards but it sure is by mine and it didnt half give a good scrap

  • i know what you mean, iveonly just started carp fishing an my pb is only 15 lb 6 oz but im hoping for a BIGone one day.

  • well if you have only just started and got a 15lb thats good going and beleve me if you keep that up depending were you fish you stand a good chance at beating my pb

do you mind me asking were you live and were you fish.

    best fishes tudders.

  • thanks for the comment, yep i live in linclonshire but fish a lot in essex round the basildon area.

  • awsome what kind of fishing do you do e.g waggler, feeder, lesure, pole.

  • atleast he hasnt spent 3 grand on a pole to catch roach lol this isnt alot for carp fishing really mate, it looks alot because hes had to explain it all in one hit but really if you like he has learn it over years then it really doesnt seem alot to do or know as it comes natural. I love learning more and more and more and it can never be to high tech or sciency for me lol

  • That's the best description of marker work ive ever heard. Thanks to the poster.

  • That is a very helpful video to people who dont know much about finding spots. Its a good video to me.

  • over thinking fishing..

  • If you want a nice day out away from the kids not giving a toss about catching or not then yes but if you have spent a few grand on gear and aim to catch personal bests and actually love beating *nature itself* and catching the largest and most fish which is enjoyable as its a task and challenge then this isnt over thinking at all. Its the point!.
