It should inform the user more about what exactly will be done by doing undo and redo. So the best would be an additional history. (look at gimp for example)
It is already shown in the status bar. For example: when in the menu you select "Undo copy of 1 item", on the status bar it reads "Delete 1 copied item"

How many steps of Undo/Redo does it support at the moment?
Okay, you are right, it is displaying information, but not what exactly it does. I don't always remember the name of the directory i changed.
