I used to live in Washington and any friend that I ever had from P'burg has moved on and done great things. It's a hole !

The truth about P'burg is that it is sadder than many cities. It is defined by the loss of the heavy industrial jobs that hit the entire Lehigh Valley region so hard. Like an old heavy weight boxer attempting to get up a knock down it is attempting to rebound on minimum wage service oriented jobs in its malls and shops that cater to the outlaying suburbanites that flooded in, post 9/11, into the ugly condominium complexes on what use to be the farms of its surrounding communities.

Its North Western NJ meets "Friday Night Lights" in the pride the city has for its high school football team, belying that the school it originates from is an Abbott School with one of the worst education records in the state.

Poor [literally] Phillipsburg, NJ. A city that time passed by. I feel for it. I truly do.

Oh and the other thing I miss. Conrail sending a train through Union Square during rush hour and getting stuck there. How many studies has Phillipsburg done about Union Square traffic issues, but still hasn't fixed it yet. LOL!!!
