Parallel fifths at 2:19? Between the bottom and middle parts? O_o am I seeing things or is Johann sneaking some cheeky consecutive perfect intervals in?
I think this is the correct speed (the notes are demisemiquavers - really fast!). But it actually sounds good too at a slightly slower speed - try it. My friend played it for me slightly slower, and I actually thought it sounded a bit better. This is one of the nicer preludes by the way. The other one I like that's in a major key is the Ab Major Prelude from Well-Tempered Clavier.

Why does every piano player in the world play Bach at relativistic speeds? Where's the phrasing, the dynamics, the musicality?!

wat the heck, why so fast
when you play a tad bit slower, you can actually here the melodic harmonies.

was that a string breaking at 0:24?
stagesix6 2 years ago
It seems more like 0'26. Probably not (it's a piano!), but it might be the stool creaking or something of the sort.

Does anyone think this is too fast? The prelude I mean?

I think he's basically just amazing.
Sometimes we like to show off our speed :)
I guess, this way, the reverb allows the notes to flow together easier, though.
