after the first gold bar (in your video) I can't figure out how to get out of that room. what am I doing wrong?

You have to shoot the valves in te water pipes.

The valves are gold colour, you have to star with the lowest valve on the floor and when the water stops rising shoot the next one up until the water reaches the roof and you can jump out.
