@robfrosty Mine is working great. I'm still playing with values a little bit. Just wanted to say your schematic is all good except i'm pretty sure the 1N4148 between the power and sequencer is drawn backwards. I'm going to add a toggle between the APC and some 4093 based oscillators. Thanks again these things are awesome! My family hates me though. :D
@Prohl84 Great! Glad the schematics work out for you! Yeah, things are probably drawn backwards. I'm not very pro at drawing schematics :/ Glad I'm not the only pissing off the loved ones with bleeps and drones.
I'm going to make this with the 4017 as well, but make it 8 step. why did you not do this? Is your APC circuit much different from the original? I love the sounds, great video mate. :-)
@WeAreTheScientist Thanks! Making it a 4-step as opposed to an 8-step was really just a design choice. 4-steps fit the case better. Also I found it better for arps. An 8-step arp is a bit much in my opinion :) I only had 4 pots as well haha
@robfrosty thanks for the schem in info! I can read it but it took me a minute to figure the 10n and 10u electrolytic. I just made a basic APC (can't take vid or i'd upload) I'm waiting on more parts; glad i saw this before i made an order. Way simpler than 40106 (74C14) based oscillators and they sound pretty sweet.

@acasualtee The only schematic I have at the moment is linked in the video info. I'll be drafting a version in autocad sometime soon though since the one linked is pretty illegible. Feel free to drop me a message with specific questions about the build if you'd like :)
You'll have to excuse my pretty basic knowledge of electronics - a 556 noise maker is a VCO, right? The whole thing is a 556 generating a tone, a 4017 walking through 4 steps attached to pots which is being driven by a 555 astable clock. The circuit has two modes as demonstrated in the first minute or so of the video. I don't know if that answers your question but if I can elaborate further, let me know!
so where are the schematics you promised 4 months ago? haha jk. sounds amazing and im workin on mine but it isnt as nice as youre is yet. cant wait for the schematics to compare notes.
that's great!i've build an APC myself and now i'm building a quad nand oscillator(from the "Handmade Electronic Music" book by N.Collins) and would like to throw it through a sequencer. is it possible to send me the schems?thanks a bunch! :)
I've almost got the schematics written out. Sorry it's taken so long all y'all! Really, seriously, all the schematics are found online... 556 based APC, baby 10 sequencer, 555 astable clock. I'll provide an image of my circuit and schematics soon.
Hey this is awesome! I just put the components together for an APC, and I was gonna start the sequencer this weekend but I wanted to get some of those little pots to control step pitch...where did you find those little guys at??
Hey, thanks for the comment! The step pots are regular old 100K B pots, the volume is a 100K A, the duty and pitch are both 500K B and the clock speed is, I think, a 1K. You should be able to pick them up at any old electronics store.
Im building a 8 step sequencer based on the baby 10 and i want to trigger a Atari Punk Console with it via cv. My problem is I cant seem to find any reference to where on the APC the cv is to be connected. Any suggestions?
Sweet, I should make one of these sometime.

@robfrosty Yeah, I think mine will have a switch between 4 and 8 step (or maybe one for each of the 10 for extreme craziness).

That is SO COOL, the drum sounds and all! I can't even do a ATC + 4017, i don't know what i do wrong really...

Could you please drop an more explicit schematic, because I'm French and I don't understand the available schematic.
Thank a lot.

Is the APC a VCO? Is that how you can get the sequencer to send the voltage? Because if it isn't a vco, I can't see how it'd work...

@robfrosty
I would like to see the schematic for it.
I have a spare 4017 sequencer that I wired up. I never used it for anything so it would be fun to plug it into an APC.
I'm sure the schematic is out there some where but I'm just to lazy to look.
Great stuff! Love the sounds.
