  • the title is misleading. this is how to replace a bicycle tube, not repair.

  • Awesome, now I don't have to pay somebody to fix my tire!

  • Great video :) thanks a bunch

  • Thank you so much. Please make more videos. Thanks...

  • If i have a hole in my tire not inter tube,,what do i do??help pleasee

  • @1234jordanbmx You have to buy a new tire.

  • Thank you very much. The way to repair the flat tire is slightly different from Japanese way, but I found it very practical.

  • sounds like mr.mackey from south park :D

  • i remember doing this when i was 9... except my way didnt involve as many tools.. i probably made it worse

  • I gave my self a pat on the back because it was one o the steps

  • @RagnaShinigami i tried it without the pat and the tire deflated... gonna definitely pay myself on the back this time

  • You saved me a trip to the bike shop, thanks

  • To check the tire for nails etc...slide a bunched up shop rag throughout the inside of the tire. It will snag on anything that would puncture the tube, and will sure save your fingers!

@coguy5280...the bead is the part of the tire that will ride on the rim. To deflate the tire a valve core tool works wonders.

  • That was NOT as easy as you made it look damn!

  • Everyone who has a flat don't waste ur time watching this shit cause it docent work

  • You guys are amateurs. If you seat the tire at the valve last you have a less chance of pinching the tube. Continental gives directions with new tires showing this and Michelin recommends it on their web site.

  • I can't get the last bit on. I've tried so many times.

  • I DONT GET IT

  • thx!!!!

  • thx

  • how am i suppose to pat my own back?

  • if its a wheel from a bmx bike will it work the same?

  • More videos!

  • my tire doesn't have a quick release, this is so fucking frustrating

  • Great collection of vids! Really clear and concise! Thanks very much for taking the time to make such informative vids!

  • Just changed my flat. Two things that could have been explained better, for a complete novice like me:

    1) You say "Check the bead," but you don't explain exactly what

the bead is. I'm guessing it's how the tire fits in the rim (no bulging, etc., as you do say. You know of the term "the bead," but we total bike novices don't).

    2) How do you rid the tube of air to fit the tube/tire back on the rim? (I'm a ding-dong and have to have it explained).

As it is, I did it myself; thank you.

  • an important part of the process is missing in this video, finding the leak before taking the tire off by dipping tire into a puddle, marking the spot, not removing tire and tube until the leak spot is marked, cos if its small it can be hard to find later , without immersing tube in water. this way you do not need to use water on the tube.

  • What a great voice.

  • 30yrs ago when I was a Kid we use to use screw drivers to remove the tire with. These tires tools are much better Idea

  • Thank you! Replaced my tire today!!

  • wtf im searching how to repair it not to replace it with a new one!

  • Step # 2-1/2 - Find out who put a staple in your tire, and kick his ass.

  • I watched this great video again as I'm about to replace three 35 year old tires on my wifes 3 wheeler. We finally had a flat where the rubber seems to have cracked.

    Ray Escondido

  • you should list the tools needed to do this in the description. It would be most helpful!

  • ok so can i use a old 1 the tube the old 1 and i just tape the hole or any suggest to put on the hole so it has no hole any more?? cuz i dont got a spare tube

  • his voice makes everything sound so easy.

  • @sevenswans15 i wanna kiss ye <3

  • what a great video - thank you so much, I just successfully replaced my tyre tube and my bike is back on the road, couldn't have done it without your help. An excellent, clear and concise tutorial!!!

  • i didnt know george bush new about tire replacement! x)

  • you can all do that without any tools except for inflating the tire ofcourse

  • Before doing any of the above, I would suggest using a simple soap-and-water solution with a spray bottle to identify the precise location of what caused the flat. This would be especially helpful if there are multiple failure points.

Once you see the soap bubbling up where air is leaking, you may mark it the location(s) and be sure to remove any debris.

  • when i try to pump up the tube, it wont inflate. does that mean theres a hole in the tube, because i cant find a hole on the tire or the tube

  • so even if there's a small puncture in the actual tire (rubber) itself is fine because it's the tube that holds the air, right?

  • thanks man

  • This video reminds me of those instructional videos we used to watch in shop class!! LOL

  • Thank you so very much! I was feeling defeated by my flat. You helped me repair it. You rock!

  • sounds like the paedo on family guy...

  • Awesome video! Taught me everything...my only problem was I tried to fix the tube and it burst again!

  • perfect, i don't have stress anymore about a flat tire even if I am 10km away from base. thanks a lot

  • Thanks for the helpful video.

  • This video was very informative. I take off and install my tires the same way. Although, I do use a tire lever to get the tire back on. I'm careful when I'm doing it though. I also every 3 or 4 months, rotate my tires. I know it sounds dumb but I do it because my tire size is 700x38C and my tires are expensive. I find rotating tires on a bike is more efficient and will prolong the life of your tires.

  • Had a first flat on my bike yesterday.

Watched this video instead of going to the bikeshop and repaired it myself.

  • @AltroLog Better yet is learn to cultivate our own food, without taking the lives of others. :)

  • @AltroLog Agreed!

  • Thank you so much. Very helpful.

  • That was very helpful, thank you.

  • a little dish soap at the end makes things a lot easier

  • wait hold up you can't decipher a presta valve? exactly how stupid are you?

  • all i do when i inflate a presta shit and i have a normal car pump, just take a cigarette filter and take off the "cotton" then press it or roll it out a lil bit to get a small rectangle, then just place that "cotton" on the valve and then the pump over it, and press hard you can pump then, but hold it in place, it works perfectly for me, no bullshit

  • thank you !

  • Thanks a bunch, I just got a road bike and the tires puncture easily so I needed to learn how to do this, by far the most simple and straightforward tutorial. Appreciate it :)

Oh I think someone else asked below, if you want to fix a hole you need to buy patches.

  • Thank you so much. Please make more videos. Thanks

  • lol

  • "pat yourself on the back, you did a good job"

thanks, this was simple and straight to the point

  • u make the best vids evr!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks, I should have watched this a few days ago!

  • Yeah very handy for a noob like me!

  • And what do you have to do when there's a bump in the tire (at the end of the video) ? Because I'm currently having this problem and i'm unable to fix it.

  • You'll want to let enough air out of the tube so that you can use your hand to guide the tire around the rim, so that it is seated evenly all the way around.

  • great instructions but thats replacing a tube not fixing a hole in the tube

  • I just had to fix my first flat and this video is the best I've found so far. Very good video! Thanks!

  • are you from VA?

  • following the vid bellow this is a sound vid and is ghetto but kinda the best and easy way to fix i think any bike tube so plz watch my response

  • i know im a stupid 14 year old who thinks he knows alot about bikes but im good at getting a job done i will try to send a video respones on how i did this also fixing a hole in the tube. before you see my reponse tho you need a broke bike tube, gorilla glue, and tools. this video will be responded to tomarrow. i only have one bike so ill tell you how and give an example

  • I almost never get flats. In walmart I buy Kevlar Intertubes made by DuPont. They cost 10 bucks, but worth the price. Its the only intertube I trust. Anybody know a better intertube to recomend?

  • Good video , just put it to use after my first flat ever.

  • A tiny flimsy staple made the tire go flat?? Wow. Bummer. Thanks for the video - highly informative and to the point.

  • In this video, the tutor stops when he finds the staple. It's wise to continue to check the tire for additional intrusions. Where there's one, there may be more.
