@ve2zzz It's not illegal per se, but no 747 pilot would ever do it in real life. Maybe if you had a 20,000 ft runway you might consider it. To land with no flaps, you'd be traveling at like 250 kts IAS. No way in hell.

If f.eg. a plane would have been damaged, this video would simply show how to handle plane during that emergency and would also been used during flight-training.

It was a good landing if he had 10 thousand ft, but this being a short field and landing without flaps means that he almost ran off the end and approched at close to 200kts. Besides I think I would have braked a lot sooner.

It's not impossible as long as you are willing to make a 200 knt approach and you have a way of diffusing the energy without flaps (brakes don't count because you'll still be in ground effect). Oh and you'll need a 5-10 mile runway.

@PayneProdutions: do you necessarily need speed brakes? I thought they were just for landing in poor weather (slick runway) conditions, or when the pilots need to descend a little faster than normal. But, yeah, no flaps, that's basically impossible.

This is a simulator, if this had been in real life, he would have killed everyone on board the aircraft because it would have went off the end of the runway. NASA B 52 has to land that way due to the wing flaps disabled for carrying payloads beneath the wing. Uses ALL of a 15000 foot runway at Edwards AFB in CA with a drag chute and wheel brakes to stop it- B 52s don't have reverse thrust either BTW-

so... a heavy jet making a flapless landing at this place in the Caribbean would be VERY impossible :)
