  • Ahhh man that's a beautiful piece, not to mention effective

  • I have the Colt M1991 A1 Commander. I love it.

  • this pistol has stopping power and a lot of it great for sport shooting

  • I just got mine about a week ago. I haven't shot it yet but it's the most beautiful gun I've ever owned

  • very nice, i need to get me one of those now

  • love it

  • so beautifuL!!!

  • What a gorgeous gun!!

  • tnoutdoors I have a chance to get a High Standard 1911 for $500. I see that you got your Colt model for $800. I'm not real familiar with the High Standard brand. If I were to get a 1911 (which I really want) should I get the High Standard or hold out for a Colt or Springfield? Thanks.

  • I just got this exact gun and i absolutely love it!! Thank You John Browning!!

  • She is sexy! ......

  • I already fired before this gun when you shoot sounds very strong

  • Nice

  • I may be a little late to the party in saying this, but you bought the right 1911.

  • how many rounds does it hold in a mag?

  • @petechett Seven.

  • I can get for 450$ to secret dealer, just you must be friend with him or bargain with him for 600$. He didnt folled me, i know him 15 year.

  • That gun is on my list.

  • @himmler451 You are gay.

  • @himmler451 Homo

  • that gun is beautiful

  • hey is that the stainless steel finish? and can you purchase the rosewood grips aftermarket?

  • crazy range

  • My 1st handgun purchase was a Colt 1991A1 Series 80. Stainless with rubber combat handgrips. It's got quite a whallop.

  • Very nice handgun, i was looking forward to making this my first time purchase

  • What a nice & well made video. Could you explain what series 80 means? Is it the serial serie? The M1991A1 is still on Colt's homepage, but it sounds like the gun is hard to find? Hopefully they still make them? What price level is this model usually at? .45ACP has only just become legal in my country so dealers have no stock or info. BTW the wood grips are nice, but I'd order a black set from the stainless steel version as well to create a "Black Widow" Colt ha ha (like the lugers).

  • @byf43 hey bud, series 80 means it has the "drop proof" safety (plunger in the slide) as opposed to the series 70 and the ww1 and ww2 style pistols. it makes the trigger pull a little "heavier" compared to a series 70 pistol, which has a very light, or "hair trigger". its not bad at all though. they are out there, just look around and you'll find one! happy shooting from one mauser fan to another!!

  • @byf42 Very good info, thank you! And yes I'm a Mauser fan ;-) Originally I wanted the byf42 name, but you were faster. Luckily I also have a byf43 so I named myself after that instead :-) Thank you for the help. I'm trying to decide if a Colt M1991A1 will make a nice hobby shooter.

  • @byf42 If the Series 80 system is in good shape, the difference in pull weight between a S80 and non-80 Colt will be four-six ounces. Since the factory pull weight is often 5#, a few ounces is not going to be noticeable. There will probably be more difference in pull weight when comparing any two random sample guns, than there would be an obvious difference between a S80 and a non-80.

  • 4:29 you can see the riochets

  • Holy Cow man, this is a hell of a weapon, in my opinion the 1911 is the most beautiful handgun that I ever seen. Congratz for the video. Sorry for my english, i'm brazilian, so...

  • I'm sold!! Very nice

  • I don't think you should be shooting fmj at steel.

  • Love it, Ive never looked back after getting mine.

  • Does anyone know if this firearm in still made in the USA?

  • @taurusses94 yes it is

  • excellent video

  • The range officer at Action impact here in Southfield Michigan carries this same model. He swears by it. They actually have plenty of pistols in stock. This will definitely be my first 45 caliber pistol.

  • Great video - thank you sir.

  • how much did you pay for that gun i really loved this gun as a kid and i was looking into getting one

  • I want one!

  • WHAT A GREAT GUN AND REVIEW

  • I Wanted To Here The Fucking Song!!!!!

  • este tipo de arma son denominadas mata policias ya que con su bala cruza los chalecos antibalas perfectas para robos y sicariatos

  • una arma muy buena para defenderse contra cualquier pillo ganster

  • 74 shots 6 misses. You the man. I love to hear that sound.

  • 5 misses out of about 35 trys . Impressive. Not much kick back. LOL

How much was that puppy? I have always wanted to own one since my service days.

  • is it me or did anyone else mistake nickel for nipple at 6:21?

I don't mean to be rude, Just sounded that way.

  • How much did you pay for this? I am in search of one. Thanks

  • there is something archetypal about the 1911, especially one from colt. It doesn't get much prettier.

Unfortunately I don't like shooting them, the grip is all weird... but definitely my favorite silhouette.

  • I am so sadden why Colt manufacturing wont produce these in full scale any more

Yes there is so many companies out there carrying out this great tradition but under Colt name is spikes well and most people makes feel good

Back in 80's Colt produce many sloppy quality and couldn't keep up new comers but time to get up and fight back I say so I can feel great American tradition in my hand....

  • 4:27 for actual shooting

  • I used ot own one before the UK ban, between that and my HK P7 are my all time favorite pistol.

    Thanks for making the video.

  • i shot a colt 1911 .45 this past summer, it was a great exprince

  • sam colt would be proud that his famous pistol is becoming more and more bad ass with each model

    p.s.

you should get a compensator for that fine peice, trans form a great gun into a nail driver!

  • Dear Fucking Santa...

  • Had to get a extended beaver tail for mine Hammer bite !!!

  • I'm in love this pistol

  • Best Gunn Everr!

  • Sweet looking Colt.

  • Have you had any problems with your factory 7 round magazines jamming on you? I did with mine. Mine is the same year as yours and I bought it brand new as well.

  • 5:26 call of duty.

  • my favorite pistol,I carried a 45 for a short time in the Marines, till they took it away and got issued a 9mm Baretta.I have two 1911's a Springfield, amd aColt.

  • Nice you could see the bullets fly off to the side after they hit the target. Earlier this year I bought my first handgun an FNP 45 tactical, after I purchased it I realized it was the 100 year anniversary of the 1911, the tacticalness got me over history lol.

  • anybody else see the bullets in the air when he started shooting right before they hit the steel plate?

  • My favorite weapon :-)

  • I have a series 70 love it but its got alot of wear on it i want to refurbish it but im not sure if i should

  • mi favorita

  • How come I see different barrel lengths?

  • how many yrds were you shootin the last clip?!?! it looked to be near 50 yrds thats crazy!!

  • 1911=9/11

    911=9/11

    the flight numbers added= 9/11

  • Love the 1911 family !!

But I can't get one due to german laws :(

  • I gotta get this gun soon im wearing this video out. haha

  • Very Nice grouping !!!!!! :)

  • Nice, one time I got to handle an old pistol from the early 1900's.

  • Nice vid and shooting. I own this exact gun, and I think this gun shoots better than my abilities.

  • Very nice pistol.

  • I have owned an Identical weapon for 4 years now, and the accuracy is as outstanding as the finish.

  • My 70 Series Gold Cup is the last gun that I would ever give up. John M. Browning 1911 set the world standard for semi-auto hand guns. Totally reliable and deadly accurate.

  • I own the exact same Colt and have had the exact same results! Great shooting sir! Over 2k rounds through mine now and only one stovepipe. Never any other mailfunctions. Keep her well lubricated for a while though. Even here in Phoenix mine liked to rust within days of a fresh cleaning. Never could figure out why.

  • @7thThunder I own the exact same Colt. Finish is Matte-Semigloss bluing and after a few thousand rounds through it I found Remington Golden sabre +P is the best functioning ammo.

  • Great review

  • good form

  • Beautiful gun.

  • I love the 1911 they have that gun all over in washington some in pawn shops all over you got to hunt for them

  • Nice gun 45 acp

  • What's the diference between a colt and just an m1911

  • Polly-murr

  • Very nicely done. I think I might just have to acquire a Colt 1911 in the coming year.

  • the only thing i dont like about my colt is the shorter trigger pull and that its not super light and NO EXTENDED BEAVER TAIL. but i guess i can change that . I was saving up for a Kimber Custom 2. i asked the pawn shop owner if she had any 1911's she told a me a she had a broken Colt i looked at it and said how much? she said $300 my jaw dropped and ran straight for the ATM. i have never done a video ( for privacy reasons) but I am so itching to show off this gun i just got.

  • Hi TNOUTDOORS9..... i just picked up a used Stainless Colt series 80 stainless mark IV for $300 at a pawn shop. IT WAS BROKEN. it only needS a recoil spring AND GUIDE ROD. I HAVE NOT GOTTEN THE PARTS NEEDED YET BUT I WAS SO EXCITED ABOUT WHAT I GOT THAT I JUST HAD TO POST. I THINK COLT IS PROBABLY THE BET ALL AROUND BRAND FOR 1911. ( NOT SAYING ITS THE BEST, JUST SAYING ITS THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK) . DO BROKEN COLT'S USUALLY GO THIS CHEAP? I MEAN THE GUN IS A EXCELLENT LOOKING SHAPE.

  • hey yall should come down to texas we had a genuine colt at our local gander mountain

  • I like it very much!

Thanks for sharing :) I also Luke the first person aim!!! Cheers

  • whats not to like? only a freak would not like a 1911

  • Beautiful gun hands down

  • The 1911 is not the only .45. There's also the Peacemaker.

  • first thing im getting when i turn 21.

  • Simply outstanding, thank you so much for your video, it's all I needed to confirm my decision on purchasing the exact same model, like the classic original look and feel and I'm in awe after the accuracy ans power with every shot you took. Thank you so much!

  • Bought it! Should be here in a few weeks!

  • Buying a series 80 100 year anniversary today! $989 here in Canada, in stock!

  • It's sad that Colt doesn't make any repros of the 1911A1 as it would have been in WWII.

  • @skittlesareyum48 The series 70 is still made and is the 1911a1 platform. That's as close as your going to get on a new Colt.

  • @skittlesareyum48 The series 70 is still made and is the 1911a1 platform. That's as close as your going to get on a new Colt.

  • sexy gun. and you got good aim

  • Best pistol i ever shot!!

  • DEAR SANTA ....

  • Great video mate! I enjoyed your shooting at steel targets ;-) It sounds awesome you did a real good job recording some nice shooting.

  • I like how you can see the bullet ricochets quite clearly.

  • Looks just like mine.

  • you gotta put one in the chamber before you pit in the mag

  • @controversyking Maybe I misunderstood what you meant by internal safety block. If you're asking about the fact that if the hammer accidentally activates without you pulling the trigger, this particular model does seem to have a hammer block. It stops just short of hitting the firing pin unless the trigger remains pulled. I've got the same Colt as in this video, so I can vouch for this model having that kind of safety feature. I hope that's what you're asking.

  • I would love to see an update video on some wear and tear. The reason I ask is that I'm debating between a SA Milspec and a Colt Series 80. Basically, bluing vs parkerized finish. What are your thoughts on the two finishes?

  • @controversyking The Beretta model 92 has a built in decocker in the safety. When you flip the safety, the firing pin actually rotates 90 degrees and the hammer decocks. Due to the pin rotating, the hammer would never strike the pin, so it's probably one of the safest decocking mechanisms I've ever seen. With that said...it's also one more part that could develop a problem. Lol

  • pretty nice gun, that's what I think

  • I love that gun. Help us in Brooklyn do more spots like that!

  • flawlessly beautiful gun!!!

  • this is a great 45 acp handgun...!!! very accurate and solid!

  • is the main spring housing plastic or steel?

  • I like your short review of this fantastic pistol and the shots of the pistol are to die for. How much did this one set you back?

  • If you had trouble finding that gun in Tennessee, that's not too encouraging for me here in Canada.

  • @7thThunder

I would think so. I have shot only a few rounds of +P 230 gr. The actual velocity was well below advertised; Hornady in this case.

  • I made an animation about the colt, but ist short and terible

  • I love the colts! I have three colt 45's! I had a Kimber but that was stolen from me by a family member on drugs! Great gun! 1911 Models are great....

  • yup !!!

  • get a m1911

  • @Jizzmo23 get an m1911. grammar dude. I know no one cares

  • Beautiful gun. How's the trigger pull?

  • @deadbidontlie

Shorter pull than my Glocks. I may have to show a closeup in a video.

  • @tnoutdoors9 How much does a "Colt 45"cost?

  • @1xoirc Anywhere between 1000 to 1700.

  • @DirtRider500R Wow,that is pricey.I have a "Para G1 Expert"but that "Colt"sure does look nice. The only thing I don"t like about the G1 is the extra piece that sticks out from the bottom of the clip. The "Colt"has a flat botttom.

  • @deadbidontlie I think it's about 4.5 pounds. Definitely a better feel than a glock.

  • Thank you for this vid! Pretty good shooting too. You and Hickok45 should do a 1911 shoutout competition. (although, I've watched many hickok45 vids and that old bird can shoot!)

  • Was this the gun used in the Way of the Gun?

  • great video!

  • Great vid, I subbed! Just got my first 1911 2 weeks ago, ATI Government Model, no frills. Fit and finish is awesome for the money. Action is tight and very smooth with minimum rattle. Felt much better than the Rock Island for the same price point. Can't wait to get a Colt Series 80 (or 70) in blue! If it ain't a Colt it's a copy!

  • whats that circle on the back side of the slide?

  • @HellaFlushEvo extractor

  • That is a great day with a great gun!

  • Damn this gun has been hard to find for me. Looked online, gone to all my local gun stores. Anyone know of any gun store names that might have it in stock?

  • Comment removed

  • Ok. So I got the same gun. The only difference is mine says "100 years of Service" vs. Series 80 on the right hand side of the slide. I just picked it up yesterday. Man it was "HARD" to find, but luckily, I was able to get one.

Thanks again for a great review. Always liked your stuff.

  • Hmm, heavily considering this as a first handgun when I turn 21. I got to shoot my cousin's and I loved it. I will get to shoot my uncle's glocks that he's got, but honestly I'm not sure they will be able to top the 1911, it just felt so perfect.

  • I love my Colt 1991A!!!!!!!!!! You can find a few comments from the same person (maybe you already know who?..) but I'm not buying it unless they did get a lemon. Mine works great and it's an early production 1991A! too. Nice video and nicer gun! Have a great day.

  • Just beautiful

  • 3:14, the horse looks skinny and mankey

  • its a beautiful gun i envy you for having it XD

  • Love this pistol!

  • 1 person is a liberal

  • @AvidGamer749 ya min to big ww2 fan ..mus get gun for revius

  • nice pistol...

  • Very informative review. Thanks for posting!

  • cool

  • it brings a tear to my eye knowing that i won't be able to buy a 1911 this year

  • do you find you need a bushing wrench to take down this 1911?

  • I have the exact same gun except it is stainless. Absolutely fantastic. I put almost 800 rounds through it before I sent it to the Colt Custom shop this year for some upgrades. In that 800 rounds I have had 6 jams. Four of those jams were on the same box of ammo at around 150 rounds shot. The other two came @ around 250 rounds shot. Once it broke in I never had another jam. Best gun ever had.

  • that gun looks so clean and perfect!!!!!!

  • Nice vid, as always. I just ordered my first colt. Series 70 michigan state police anniversary edition. I am very pumped.

  • Could you put a World War 2 wide spur hammer on this gun?

  • Very Nice. I picked up a new 1911 this weekend. Need to make a video.

  • That thing gets great distance. So you had no feeding problems what so ever? Great review!

  • Bullshit bro, don't believe those people a Glock 21 looks pretty .45ACP to me ( I own one). Don't get me wrong I love 1911's, if i had the money i would get one, but I hate it when people try to discredit or lower the value of the Glock 21 as a productive and effective .45ACP caliber pistol.

  • great gun brother.............definately a keeper.

  • I got the Colt Commander 4.25 as my very first gun. 1911 is just one of the most beautiful gun ever. I grew up in a none gun culture parts of the country, so to speak, and I am in love with the 1911.

  • where was this exact pistol made? in the us i hope unlike every other 1911. i think kimber and smith and wesson are the only american made 1911s

  • @Glockcrazy19

    Hartford, CT

  • @tnoutdoors9 how much did this gun cost im lookin at investing some money into guns and really want one of these so how much do they cost and whats a good retailer?

  • @98Revolutionary It was 799 plus tax and schtuff. It's in the comments from 4 months ago :)

  • @Glockcrazy19 Springfield isn't American made, as well?
