we drove over this bridge in september 2011 at dusk on our way to Spain it was just a fantastic awsome sight ,something that will stay with me forever. British Design at its best...

I am a bridge engineer myself and believe me this is absolutely at the pinnacle of human achievement when it comes to bridges. Space-shuttle-level civil engineering. The Frenchies make good cheese and good bridges.

 i might be heading down that way again next year while on the way to Switzerland. its a shame the wind deflectors on the side block the view. maybe i will have to stick the camera on a pole LOL!

Yes T173 at the Open Uni,,,had to pick an engineering project to focus on, this was THE one,,such a beautiful build..the Hoover Dam was big and brash,Magnitogorsk a sacrifice in lives but this was elegant

yes its tolled. the tolls are to the north of the bridge for both directions. they are not right at the end of the bridge, but a few minutes further along. bikes have to pay, but i cant remember how much

I was over the Forth bridge the once, many years ago, and compared the length of the two bridges with Google Earth. as you say, the Forth bridge is impressive.

its about 600 km from Paris to Millau which is on the A75 road. there is an exhition centre under the bridge
