we drove over this bridge in september 2011 at dusk on our way to Spain it was just a fantastic awsome sight ,something that will stay with me forever. British Design at its best...
I am a bridge engineer myself and believe me this is absolutely at the pinnacle of human achievement when it comes to bridges. Space-shuttle-level civil engineering. The Frenchies make good cheese and good bridges.
i might be heading down that way again next year while on the way to Switzerland. its a shame the wind deflectors on the side block the view. maybe i will have to stick the camera on a pole LOL!
@UKMitchy ...and I was just thinking how great it is that the wind deflectors on the side block the view.....if I was driving on this bridge and could see over the side, I'm positive I'd have an anxiety attack. This bridge is spectacular.....
@meerkat1219 .. i think if people could see over the side they would probably say...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes T173 at the Open Uni,,,had to pick an engineering project to focus on, this was THE one,,such a beautiful build..the Hoover Dam was big and brash,Magnitogorsk a sacrifice in lives but this was elegant
yes its tolled. the tolls are to the north of the bridge for both directions. they are not right at the end of the bridge, but a few minutes further along. bikes have to pay, but i cant remember how much
I was over the Forth bridge the once, many years ago, and compared the length of the two bridges with Google Earth. as you say, the Forth bridge is impressive.
Thank you so much for the "ride" over this beautiful viaduct! I'll probably never be able to travel to see it live, but I've gotten to experience it to some degree with your video.
I'm from Indonesia. Far away from French. Would someone please to bring me there? I wanna feel the passion of riding across the bridge.

An impressive bridge because of the height of its pylons and the support cable system, yet is no longer than the Forth Road Bridge, Scotland.

i have been across the Forth Road Bridge a few times. a very impressive sight.
