Science, unfortunately, is the whore of whoever has the funding. That's what ruined medical science. The ultimate whore is the pharmaceutical branch - with the medicines that need to be taken for a lifetime. Neat racket, that. Permanent income.

I knew Naba well--we used to play chess often at Cafe Ennui in Chicago. And we used to argue. I was saddened by the news of his passing, which makes me even more reluctant the follwing. Naba, science is NOT just an ideology. Science is a way of knowing. And it is, by far, the best way of knowing we have. When kemetic science cures polio, unlocks the theory of relativity, or designed a suspension bridge, maybe it can compete with science. But it hasn't. It can't. It never will.
judging from what you typed here i'd say you need a bit more stody in arena of true knowledge; theory of relativity;suspension bridges--these were the result of what ?
