  • haha Simon Day gets all the girls xD

  • I hear a lot of the facts are misrepresented and inaccurate in the science of this.

  • here is the link

    dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2058436/El-Hierro-volcano-ready-eruption-Homes-evacuated-Spains-southern-Canary-Islands.html

  • This video is a bit like true..

Did you guys know that now is happening like a small eruptions of the volcanoes and the temperature rise around the world is seems to be true

  • im sure there will be enough americans scattered around the planet in countries theyve invaded to carry on their fucked up way of life and non existent morals,....

  • I really dont believe that if La Palma fell into the ocean that it would create such huge waves as they reached the US. I believe the waves would dissipate out significantly as they travel across the length of the ocean. This is what happened with the Japanese earthquake this year. Japan was hit hard due its proximity to the epicentre, however the other 'at risk' countries that scientists predicted woud be hit too, experienced no tsunamis due to wave dissipation.

  • This video is pretty sensationalist. Most of the science in it has been contested.

  • why is no one concerned about Madeira Islands ? lol

  • 600 Meter Tsunami *crazy*

  • HOLY SHIT AM GOINGTO DIE SOON

  • nty its not goan crash there

  • When was this made? I saw the WTC...

    Sad faic

  • Why do they bother showing pre 9-11 pics of NYC?

  • can't they wrap the freaking volcano with a huge net or something?

  • @UL439 they are using 1,200 c130 tanker jets to spray rhinoliner all along the entire coast to prevent slippage...

  • @UL439 lol

  • Eugh, the reason why it doesn't show the other parts is because they use New York as a basis La Palma dead, Southern Europe, damaged, Africa, damaged, USA, damaged.

  • professor Simon day is he Napoleon Dynamite

  • Let the people of La Palma , western Africa and southern Europe make their own documentary and then it can show them as being more important than the USA. Heh. Heh.

  • I thought a documentary was about something that happened, not a theory of what might happen. Or am I in the future?

  • Nobody seems to care about the people living on la Palma. And the people in Western Africa and Southern Europe which will also be hit by the waves. Only about the people in the USA. Are they more important or something?

I went to La Palma twice. It's the most beautiful island I've ever seen.

  • @asthemoonturns typical americans, my parents are from the island and live there. Its such a nice place and the people are as decent as they come.

  • @asthemoonturns Then you havent been to very many islands

  • thanks god. philippines is so far in usa. im going to baguio city philippines wich is 3000 metters from the sea lvl. goodluck usa, london, canada, mexico...

  • @jayr143111 yeah thankgod, whatever

  • is the guy with glasses british?

  • What are the scores, Angelos!

  • this apocaliptic theorys are interesting but is it my imagination but it is always centered in usa come on if somthing happen death is not the end my friends...

  • fucking selfcentered americans!

  • OMG...THOUSANDS of metres high??Ah don think ahz be goin Washington any time soon loLOL!!Next part BMJ!!>>>

  • grrr all they care about is america!!!!!

what about africa, spain, THE UK???!!!!!!

    XD

  • @Iamrandom1997 Because those of us that live outside the US are sub-human and are only here to be mocked, pitied and used by Americans

  • 1:35

they see talk on the TV

I know that they all thinking I'm so white and nerdy XD

    LOL

  • hahahahahahaha omg simon day is like the just so amazing his voise, face, glasses and hair omg comic gold

  • Didn't a huge tsunami happen in a bay in Alaska within the last 50 years. I thought I saw something on it. It was cause by an avalanche or landslide. A guy on a pier and his son survived somehow.

  • @kinkergooo i so somethink like that yrs ago, but in this, the guy and his son, were lifted up in there boat and came too rest in some tree tops, that was about 50yrs ago, by a massive landslide too

  • Best thing to do:

Plant nukes inside the volcano and detonate them when all people have been moved to safe locations. Better this way than having a giant wet surprise in the future.

  • @niilatfan are you retarded?

  • i thought he was wearing a hair piece lol

  • la palma volcano will erupt soon within 30 years, then east coast of USA will face full brunt of this menace. Tsunami wave up to 30 stories high will roll into inland as far as 20-30 km. 25-30 million lifes lost. 8% percent of populace. When people will listen?

  • @symmetry08 its a shame most people are like you and base their opinions off junk science and fear mongering.. if you want to know the truth about la palma.google la palma tsunami gives a point by point analysis debunking this stupid stuff.. And how idiots are saying things will happen when they won't............

  • @Wolffmanjackk So one person has a few objections to the theory, and misrepresentsand strawmans it. And you call the theory debunked? Tsunamis happen, and large scale events have occurred in the past.

  • @Wolffmanjackk I have no comment. The only thing I can state is WAIT until happens. I am not fear mongering nuts. It is due and earth is warming to danger point. It will happen what should happen. Embrace for life and see you all east coast (USA) future victims in next life incarnations.

  • @xIDriVeN ... Alaska is on the pacific ring of fire and is even more prone to earthquakes and tsunamis, and the last recorded megatsunami happened in a lake in alaska in the 1950s. Geez, proof that Americans are really fear-mongering and ignorant :P .

  • *sniff, sniff* Hmm..does anyone smell a wave of Karma?

  • @SaturnStarz12 what

  • So is the USA its stopping post???

Or will it hit the UK aswel, because if it does i think il be in one of the best countrys in the world to be at, at that point in tym. With the mountains we got hear back in Wales it would act like a shield around me whilst stopping the force of the water & i could have a choice of what mountain id wanna chilax on until the wave carms the fk down....

  • FML. i live in nyc. im moving to alaska

  • Hmm, the visuals were before 9/11. Twin towers still in existence.

  • i know where will be MEGA TSUNAMI in 2012 not in Canary Islands, but near Portugal, Lisbon about 20m high the TSUNAMI be. BYE BYE PORTUGAL! MUAHAHA!

  • Ur weird

  • watched a documentary when the 2004 Indonesian tsunami occurred and now watching another documentary cause of japan >.<

  • Simon Day looks like he's never gotten laid - and sadly never will!

  • Better learn to surf!

  • ระวังไว้ก่อน

  • 1:35 when i saw simon day, i immediately thought that this was a joke video. :S

  • @shanePHWOAR he did say "magma"

  • @shanePHWOAR jajajaa me too

  • someone's gonna have to build more planes

  • im going to die i live in the carribbean

  • im gona die

  • My name is Simon Day. Not a lot of people know that.

    Noone, in fact.

  • @ludocrat After the tsunami, people will remember Simon Day's name! In the inevitable 3D movie, he will be played by a cloned Peter Sellers.

  • @pchapman905

Lol. I reckon Paul Whitehouse would do a good job in that role. He just needs to tweak his Michael Payne a bit. I look forward to it - the movie not the tsunami obviously ;)

  • Under a pole shift super volcanos and others go off. Dust causes cold, darkness, dust blows and static electric charges with land sinking. The seas would cause aggravated waves powered by mega winds. The USA would be burned with fire and partly covered with water. Rev. 6:12( Haggai 2:6) and after Rev. 8:8

  • Mr Maguire always comes out with some disaster, speaking things you could look up anywhere although he is still very informed. The directors are probably making him say direct comments to scare everyone even if Maguire himself knows there is more to it that he is not allowed to say.

  • DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

  • lol generic ms paint job @ 3:03

  • Woo cleveland :D

  • Lol i'm safe like hell. I'm living in Czech Republic. (Central Europe) FUCK YOU, COASTAL CITIES!!!

  • That british guy is such a dork!

  • i couldnt help but laugh at 1:33.

  • ...collect enough plastic drink bottles , tie them together into a thick layered Tsuanmi suit , climb in and suit up.

~enjoy the ride (your welcome to manufacture and sell this modern day armour , but it is a open patent)

  • Wig?

  • (Something about Chuck Norris swimming)

  • If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball. If you can swim, you can survive a mega tsunami.

  • I love when people comment "bullshit" or "crock of shit" without even knowing where La Palma Island is or why scientists think there might be a problem. Just research La Palma first and then from what U find make Ur comments. Just cause U dont want something to be true it doesnt make it go away. Just go back to watching Jersey Shore or Kardashians or something.

  • Poor Americans

  • @Sipuli365 Damn BBC (I'm pretty sure they produced this) just loves to talk about the destruction of the US. Keep in mind that a Canary island collapse won't do southern England a hell of a lot of good either.

  • Comment removed

  • @geonerd

Hello From france, don't be so confident for southern England, your country is not very far from the Canary Island...

  • @melende1970 lucky that i liv in mid england

  • @PlasmaRex

    That's right

  • @melende1970 ..he said southern england WILL be hit

  • goofy americans be drowning. haha

  • Why do people think that 2012 will happen? People, It will not happen, because the mayan said that 2012 was our day we all die may mean that they predicted wrong and that we will live longer than that year and the calendar is a mistake

  • what a crock of shit!

they've just asked what is a Tsunami and would happen if this occured (which it won't)

  • What a bunch of shit...what next, is America goin to sink into the sea?

  • so this mega tsunami will magically avoid Canada? sweet!

  • @NiteOwl1224 No mega tsunami could flood a country like Canada, man. It would take ALL the water on Earth to form one. Be cool :)

  • @NiteOwl1224 Canada has good kharma compared to the US... ;)

  • @miksta1988 no it does not, canada has soem reraslly nasty activities, center for chemical warfare, sanctioned abuse of native americans ,sodomy et al,same ole shit .fer da queen.

  • @xtiml Of course, all countries have some negative shit. I am just comparing Canada to the US...

  • mientras no destruya el amazona... xD k es el pulmon del mundo y CANARIAS por supuesto...

  • Comment removed

  • I'm sorry.... but I think these guys are like most meteorologists.... hoping for the worst. I think their science is flawed and so is that one guys choice in glasses.

  • Holy shit! I live in Pittsburgh I hope it doesn't reach that far! They should start emergency plays for newyork!

  • so what happens to me i live in new york

  • @noir0222 due to this being able to become a threat, am sure new york has already an evacuation plan. just search for an evacuation route off new york that leads west as fast and far as you can in 4 hours or less

  • @harold562 jk just wanted to fit in

  • Is this real? I mean the video.

  • @Dragonfree97 the video is, the theory, is not completely sure, it has been tested but it has a strong possibility that the force and height of the wave can be dispersed before it reaches the east side of America. just like what happened on the earthquake on Chile and the tsunami threat on the Hawaiian islands not long ago.

  • ay q ser tonto para creer q aunq s hunda la isla(q espero q no q vivo ahí),con la superficie q ocupa y lo lejos q qda america se produzca tal ola! dejense d creerse todo!

  • hopefully it will not badly affect the southern caribbean D:

  • Could it be that the reason why Mega-tsunamis have historically happened during extremely warm periods is because the ground is often times much warmer during those periods meaning that it won't freeze as much?

  • when will this happen?

  • @Spiderpig678

When someone will drop some bombs on that island, and it will crack x)

Or this will happen in 100 years

  • shit if this happens im gonna be effected like hell. I live in New Zealand we are a island country in the Pacific and surrounded by ocean !! But we all know a tsunami will hit the 4.2 million New Zealanders soon.

  • wtf the dude with glasses is the most stereotyped nerd ever

  • MAN DA WORLD AINT GUNA END IN 2012...ONLII GOD KNOWS WHEN THA WORLD IS GOING TO END... YA KNW THAT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS: THEY SAID THE WORLD WAS GOING TO END IN THA YEAR 2000...BUHT I SEE WE STILL HERE... THESE SCIENTIST DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT.

  • im from a very next island (tenerife) and the last year i flew to la palma and the zone that is dangerous ,has been evacuated to the capital (in the other side of the island ,that zone is completely free of people , ,tenerife and the other islands has alarms to detect tsunamis and 2 a year make simulations , we are safe (because europe rules) i dont know why does the american people that live in hazard zones doesn`t make simulations (well , this only occours in America ,land of ignorants)

  • Well, i live in the Canary Islands and it is a lovely place to visit. Good resorts, beaches and warm weather. Docs like this create panic and alarms with an uncertain prediction. In this way i have a lot of questions like what will happen just in case Yellowstone Caldera supervolcano eruption occurs? Or what would happen if San Andres fault colapses? So, enjoy the life and be happy. You don´t know what is going to happen 100%.

  • So its mother natures fatailty VALCANO TSUNNAMI TORNADO ICE STORM AND A FUCKING BLACK HOLE!!!%&

  • women president will be elected in 2010 just sayin

  • I live in Scotland UK and I read that we will be hit by waves of 10 meters high!!

  • southern ontario would get it too would we not? if so...FUCK

  • so i live in the western part of europe, portugal coast, id be one of the firsts to be hitten by the wave xD

  • suckers.... lol i live on the west coast

  • @sticktwirlingking You'll be stuck with everyone that migrated away from the east coast

  • twin towers????????

  • so we are going to die by a tsunami a volcano an earthquake an icestorm a tornado......who else thinks it's all going to happen on the same fucking day

  • Hah! Bet u it's gonna happen in 2012... Like all the oher thing that are going to happen

  • I was joking guys!

  • I wonder if this will be as good to watch as 9/11 hahahahaha

  • @MitchKid432 thats rly messed up you sick fuck

  • @JustInTime819 I commented saying that it was a joke didn't I?

  • they r scaring little children! like me!! i just wanted to see a cool giant tsunami on footage....

  • Fuck me -_- i live near Miami...

  • @Squallleonheartfan switch places with me

I live in mexico you go to mexico and I go to miami

    what do you think?

    student exchange

  • @Squallleonheartfan Your Lucky I live On a caribbean Island, So im double Fucked !

  • @Squallleonheartfan not for long bro...

  • @Squallleonheartfan fuck me .. i live on that fucking island lol

  • What would be the affect on the UK

  • Umm My cousin keeps having Tidal wave dreams

I had them a few years ago

My friend had a diaster dream

I asked God if it going to happen and give me a sighn, then they guinea pig randomly ran in circles, I had a leg spazuim and I feel sick.

Its going to happen soon AND I LIKE ON LONG ISLAND!!(the island in front of new york)

  • @singlaprety12 nice to know we have a decoy =D

  • really bad green screen effect 2:00

  • 0:42 I can see a landmark that won't be destroyed by a Megatsunami...

  • @inesis Lmfao

  • @inesis Of course it was all-ready destroyed by terrorists on 9/11

  • @inesis but it can be destroyed by flying airplanes , which crash into it :D

  • @inesis Yeah which is both good yet saddening

  • Far be this from me, why not bomb the fuck out of the side of the volcano and prevent the entire occurance?

I'm sure with millions of lives on the line, you could move the few thousand people out. They'd understand.

  • Wow.

  • I'm in the Canaries and from what i can understand , all you are worried about is economy and the east coast of US... what about us??? You can still drive km in the land, we can not!!! If this is going to happen i only expect we all know about it time enough in advance...

  • This show was done by the BBC, not the US. I think the reason why they concentrated on the US is because we play a more active part in European affairs. As for them, they seem to forget that Spain, the UK, Ireland, and maybe France and the Nordic countries would also be hit with something at least as strong as the Indonesian Tsunami in 2004. The most densly populated areas of South America would be hit harder then anyone. As for small island populations, there would be nowhere to run.

  • I also read that Africa would get hit?

  • Would it really matter if they knew it was going to hit? There would be nothing we could do. A 600 meter high wave is 1,968.5 feet. To put that into perspective. The Empire State Building is only 381 Meters or 1,250 Feet tall and is currently the tallest building on the East Coast. There would be no running from something like this. We probably couldn't even get 1% of the people out in time. A wave that tall would go in hundreds of miles. I'm in Philadelphia so I'm dead.

  • 7 hours warning

    massive traffic jams

    maybe 50% will get out

not hundreds of miles - 20 for terrible destruction - but yes flooding in maybe 40 to 60 miles along the entire coast Canada to Rio

  • I really think it depends on the geography between you and the Atlantic Ocean. The northeast is full of bottle necks on the highways and flat states like New Jersey and Florida may be completely over run. Plus of you live in a valley where a mountain is inbetween you and the ocean you may still get flooded out. If you live in places like the Carribean or Souty America where infrastructure is even worse then I doubt you'd survive.

  • Somewhat, but, waves do break and when they do the enegy runs out quickly. No, I do not think it would run across Florida. Over several years I have heard several experienced ppl lecture on this subject. But while the wave is raised up it is a very terrifying sight to behold.

  • There was a lecture where scientists predicted that at the very least it would completely cross Florida at the base of the panhandle. I they went into further detail about how places in the Gulf of Mexico would be affected. I'm sure that even a dulled down surge would still be quite severe.

  • hmmmm, how can I put this. In my last comment, do you know who Micho Kaku is?

This is pure physics. He was asked this very question. I quoted HIM. He is one of the four most throbbingly smart people on earth as "scientists" go. I have heard others. But he is amazingly easy to understand. And, ugh, correct.

  • Do you have a link to any of his lectures?

  • @charles43110 more like 2% not to mentian the amout of long islanders and new york city(If this happend its a dealth sentence, in the winter it would be worse)

  • @hop208

we just gotta make a 3,000 feet seawall

  • @filipino1nDaUS I guess that would work. Although it would probably take a few centuries to build something the size of a mountain, that and there probably isn't enough raw materials on earth for us the build it with.

  • seriously if this was to happen I would think about vacating ton the west coast or something

  • Look, this is easy to understand, The wave begins breaking before it actually rolls up on the beach. Though moving up to 500mph once on land it becomes a crashing wave that will break and tumble within 2 to 4 miles. That slows it by near half. And it is now flowing uphill across land. The topography further spreads out the kinetic force. Be obnoxious if you choose too. But it does not change the laws of physics. 20 miles usually, 40 if rather flat. Do you know how wide Florida is? LOL

  • Lol yea some people just want it to be like a movie..

  • they said it would go 2 miles inland i live on the east coast

  • 1 mile equals 1.6 kilometres.

  • ive heard other things botu this from my profes. she say that it will but about 1 mile high and the width would be from Canada to brazil.and have the impact of several atomic bombs

  • @Kissypooh01 how can you compare a Tsunami to atomic bombs?

  • @armasiel

the destructive force, and outward shock wave of energy release

    very similar

  • If anything a tsunami would be more powerful than a nuclear explosion in terms of kinetic energy, especially one that size in terms on physical force would be able to capsize an aircraft carrier. I don't think even a nuke can boast that

  • kenetic release of force played out in 99% of these waves never equals the destruction of one thermo nuclear (not Japan type) explosions. Less than 1% of waves create massive destruction. Look what happened with the 8.8 quake. HOWEVER, have the side of a volcano create a slide of mass dimensions plunge into the ocean & results of unbelievable force happen.

One modern air burst over an entire fleet can 90% vaporize the fleet including carriers. ? 20 coastal air bursts as in an attack????

  • @charles43110 I'm talking about potential energy not damage caused. When you look at the potential energy or a tsunami this size vs a nuke the wave has much more potential and kinetic energy than a nuke. Waves and water created the grand canyon, a nuke couldn't even scratch it, only burn it a little lol

  • No your not. Your talking around the issue. When earthquakes happens (did u see Micho Kaku explain?) an energy release at 500 mph spreads UNDER the surface until the bottom rises up to LAND. Air craft carriers wouldn't even bob like a cork. LANDSLIDES create a totally different wave and are VERY RARE. They sweep across the sea above the surface. Quakes almost never produce killer waves. But I said, less than 1% of big quakes produce killer waves running ashore.

    damage is the topic!!!!

  • so now you presume to know what i'm talking about better than myself? I would give your argument more credibility were it not littered with spelling errors. You are the one talking around the issue. I'm talking about cresting waves, not deep ocean ripples at the source

  • i need to know something....when he says 20 kilometers, how many fett are we talking here?....I'm still dealing in feet and inches and theyre talking metrics which i'm not use to yet... just how many kilometers equals one mile?...if a tsumani is travelling at 100 kilometers...just how many miles per hour is it travelling?...forgive my ignorance, please...
