  • @magik248 hey the UNITED STATES grows more crops then most of EUROPE combined, if not all ! we feed the world , send for to just about every crisis/natural disaster/starving nations. UNITED STATES fed Europe during WW1 & 2, during then we rebuild Europe thanks to our " Marshall Plan " also WE REBUILD JAPAN & SOUTH KOREA - I believe congress passed $ 100 million dollars back then 1945 -- to put back Europe together because it was in pieces just like humpy dumpy.

  • Cool.

  • I was with a custum harvesting crew in that area long ago.

  • @randalljones58 lots of nice farm familes in this part of the country :) Soon it will be harvest time again!

  • @AJ67901 Yeah, I remember their hospitality. I used to live north of holly, and in the 60's we got one tv station from Garden City. The weather man on the news was Cecil. Your wheat harvest probably starts around June 15th.

  • @randalljones58 That would be Cecil Carrier? I grew up east of Garden City and we got KGLD channel 11 the best. We used to go through Holly on the way to Westcliff, Colorado in the summers and I recall there was a guy on the east side of town that had a John Deere alfalfa cuber. Those were pretty unique, but that was back in Western Alfalfa's literal hay days!

  • @AJ67901 I think the hay cubers name was Baskter. My grandpa grew about 30 acers of alfalfa.

  • @randalljones58 Those were the days..

  • Nice Video! Grüsse aus Deutschland!

  • @blueangelkiller Thank you :)

  • Thanks to you and the Wien's Family for the wonderful video - I enjoyed the story behind it as much as the video itself. Great job!

  • not bad for a conventional

  • great header 9600 fair compacity for its age drive one for a bloke near home

  • great yield? why are they reporting that yields are DOWN because of the heat? Or is this a new way of paying back China? Jacking up our prices so it doesn't look like we're jacking up everyone else's. HMMMMM.

  • that's a great Video - I drive a JD 2264 back in Europe (Holland) and although I've been to the US many times, it was never in the harvesting season. Hopefully one day!

  • @hbieshe Thank You, I hope you get to come see our harvest someday. It's a great time of year if you're a farmer.

  • @AJ67901 I'll be flying over again Sept 18th.. but that's too late .. One day!

  • @hbieshe you might catch some corn harvest about then.

  • Takes me back to Ellis County wheat harvest with Dad and our old Cockshutt combine

  • @CJ5978 I remember my dad having a 1959 Oliver combine. I would imagine the Cockshutt was similar?

  • Wow, thanks for posting...beautiful wheat. Helps me not feel so homesick missing Kansas this summer.

  • best combine !! 9600 are beast :X .. nice wheat !!!

  • Great video, thanks

  • Thanks for the reminder of how much dust I'm not breathing in by not working harvest anymore. And it gave me a chance to see how good my brother-in-laws wheat was this year. Nothing like a big green machine chewing through a golden field of wheat.

  • It's great to see your harvest! (Even if it is on the screen, instead of live.) Thanks for sharing the video!

  • My uncle Jerome! :-)

  • very nice footage =)

  • @kekzdoze Thanks, it was a fun video to make!
