even if he looses his voice, i think what a metal band is about, it's the guitar, a heavy and powerfull riff is more important than a good voice, you could a have a fairly decent voice and it would kick.

Lars is the backbone to the the band of Metallica.. but in the part where you say its the guitar yes.. but you have to think about the deepness of the drums and the symbols. i love metallica to and till death lol but the drums have a major part and play in the Metal world. more than the guitar i believe. but if you have the drums runs the beat, guitar that makes your ears scream.. thats metal! lol

I disagree that James can't sing anymore. He sings much better than last years! At Whiplash for me he sounds better than on the Kill' Em All. He still can sing but he hasn't got this unbelieveble voice that he had before Load and ReLoad and that's all about it.
