  • What's the digital gauge on the front of your computer?

  • @missthemissles The gauge on the front of his computer is his fan controller.

  • What's the digital guage

  • @missthemissles where can u get it?

  • @missthemissles where can u get it? more specifically, whats the name for it?

  • @missthemissles The fancontroller is a NZXT Sentry LX

Seems they make some cool equipment ^^

  • What watercooling parts do you have?

  • man nice rig but im confused it looked like you had your raptor and maybe a dvd drive i forget running on IDE...why would you do this when you have nice onboard SATA controller on your board?

  • What fan controller is that and where did u get it? Is it good?

  • Killer PC dog!

  • Thanks

  • You're welcome. It must have costed a shit ton haha.

  • how much ram does xp support?

  • 3.8gigs

  • so if I have 2 x 2GB, I will only get 3,8GB ??

I had no idea about this

  • Ya it's on every 32 bit windows

  • ok, I'll still go for XP because I'v got the disc at home already and I don't feel like buying vista.

and I'm not an extream gamer so dont realy need more than 3,8

  • Yeah for XP win 32 bit, it's more then enough for your use :).

  • not if u have 6 gigs or ram =(

  • xp can support up to 128 gigs of ram with the 64 bit professional version

  • on new egg if you buy vista for 10 bucks more you get windows 7 when it comes out

  • hey guys once uve put all the parts in and its all good , is that it ? do you just wait for that screen to come up then run the set up?

  • do you need a strong card for physics? Would a 9800 gtx suffice? or would that be over kill and also can the Evga X58 do physics and main card?

  • I have a friend with a 9600 GSO that has physX running, I can say that you can have a 8800GT and it will run PhysX as long as you don't have less than 256 MBs of video memory.

  • why did you get 6gb of ram! its overkill. you should have just got 3gb tbh

  • 6gigs isn't a over kill for a rig like mine. My CPU works with the ram they work together. I use up 65% ram.

  • tbh mate it is. 3gb would easily do you. im getting a 920 and i f i overclock my ram and the cpu 3gigs will be fine. you dont even overclock so you ram is running at like 1333 mhz or somtin!

  • Yes with a core i7 you need 6 GBs or more for it to run great, otherwise at 3 GBs or less, you have poor multi tasking and extreme slow gaming...

  • how did you get the sentry lx to control the front 3 fans? doesnt that fan controler only support 3 pin?

  • how did you get the sentry lx to control the front 3 fans? doesnt that fan controler only support 3 pin connectors?

  • I wrote in another comment "I replaced all the stock fans"

  • hey maybe you can help me i want to do a new build but i dont know what to do should i build a CORE I7 or do a build with q9650. and if you build a q9650 what board would you use.

  • go for the I7 the i7 is just a monster, it eats up anything i throw at. for he i7 i would use the evga x58 and for the q9650 i would get the i780 FTW mobo.

  • is a intel board good with the i7 920

  • This is my PC

    Specs:

    2x EVGA GTX 295

    EVGA X58 Motherboard

6GB Triple Channel Corsair DOMINATOR RAM

    500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM

    Antec 1000w PSU

    Thermalthake Armor

    i7 2.93ghz (Upgraded to 4.5ghz)

    Cost: 2170 Euro's, 2800 Dollar's

  • yeah right! i dont think its possible to clock an i7 from 2.93 to 4.5! that would be impossible!

  • or do you meen you replaced the processor!??

  • No, overclocked it, and it's possible with water cooling. It's not that hard to overclock an i7.

  • haha, ok!

  • Holy Crap!!!!

What in God's name is that!!??

    Looks cool.

  • hey g4 nice rig man:)

  • Nice rig!

  • Nice job.

  • Congratulations, really looking forward to seeing the final video. EVGA FTW!!

  • 10 is going to be just to show off the system and the windows, 11 is going to be gpu and 12 is going to be benchmarks and 13 is going to be the last witch is just going to be a video like part2 the overview.

When am i getting the GPU idk.

  • I would like to see how the DVI or VGA cables run out the case under the swiftech cooling

  • my next video i will post will be up by tonight.

  • Hi

    Very nice build!

What are your CPU idle temps on water?

  • 35c idk if that's that good and 50c on full load.

  • well I think it is. You might try to see the temps in bios. Do you have flow meter there? try to measure the temp of the liquid. I would like to see the video from putting the CPU in and doing the cable management on the 1200

  • i was going to but i didnt have a stand to put cam on. and cable management tuck me a long time to do. i tried to hide the most i can.

  • put some high res pics of your system. It would be nice touch up for the whole series. I guess vid 11 and 12 are oc and benchmarks lol Good luck

  • I actually have the NZXT fan controller as well. I put some of Silverstone FM121 in it. See if its going to take off :)

  • I have the same fan controller you had any issues with it not turning you fans on or the lcd goes wack after a while?

  • nope it's fine. Try to clear the contact from case or mobo to the control unit. This sounds like dead wire or so. Perhaps is lose from vibration. Do you have any huge fan in the case that could create such vibration? Also try to dry it out with hair dresser. There might be some humidity creating dead link. Believe or not I have the same think on my dish washer. Some buttons are just rubber touch buttons and have to always hit hard to turn some of the options on

  • congratulation man I'm starting mine next week. I got the 920 for unbelievable $ 230 at microcenter. Apex for 230 also I will change the tubing from the vinyl to norprene. I like to stick with the norprene ones. Also I will use xaser IV case. Will post some vids. I will start this with 8800 GT and some more funds comes I put 2 GTX 295 I have the Gigabyte extreme mobo and dominator @ 1600 but that has to be lowered. Maybe later on second velociraptor so it could be in raid. Oced to 4 GB stable

  • thanks man, i hope your build goes as good as mine.

  • Oh it should all I worry about is the Gigabyte bad reviews all over the web but i need something that is going to support 24 GB RAM

  • 24GB of Ram is just a show off from Gigabyte. You'll never need it and it won't be stable like you think. They don't have a driver for it, and I don't think Windows Vista 64bit will handle it or reconize it. The most serious tasks available on a computer right now don't require more that 8gb of ram. I'll suggest you to go with Rampage Xtrem II or the EVGA X58, cuz Gigabite have one of the most serious issues on a PC, it takes too long to boot especially when loaded with high end accessories.

  • well I have to disagree on it. Any application running currently on ultimate vista 64 can assign the excess memory for scratch disk. I don't mind the boot time I mind the issues around

  • Btw. I spoke with EVGA and they didn't recommend to put even 12 GB in the x58 mobo running higher than 1333@

  • i probably wont get 12 gigs 6 gigs is working fine for me now.

  • well most of you guys are building this pc for games. I build it for After Effect, PS and Premiere. The AE supports only 3 GB memory however they can assign multi-threading and use up to 2 GB per core. SO if you have let say 8 Cores you can assign 2 per each + additional 8 as a scratch disk That's why. Most of the manufactures won't lie with the specs because they could be suit, so its faulty adv but I still think that other X58 are supporting more ram they just play safe game

  • I"m also trying to get the dominator CMXAF2 fan but it's not out yet. They keep saying it's coming soon since november. The only way is to get it with the 1866 kit and they is over 400 bucks. No way. I'm so glad I save the bucks on the LC and CPU. I wonder when the EE is going to drop. BTW. Did you see the EVGA Classified MOBO? That's a killer

  • I didn't mean to spoil your thirst on the Gigabyte. I was just doing you a favor as a Guru to let you know about the issues you might counter with the specs you're going for. I strongly wouldn't recomend it. I never owned it but I built a Pc with it for a friend. But the issue of RMA he had plus paying shipping to return it ... all those craps, he wished he had bought the Rampage Xtrem II or better, cuz he spent way more than that for less performance including the stress he went it for that.

  • OH don't worry about me I fix the problems myself if there are any. No need to RMA. You know - dumpster. Asus is great and I guess the best OC board there but it has only 4 sata ports and that's not good. I need storage for HD production not for playing. Also usin lower clock on memory allows more dims to have in. Eric from EVGA told me that 12 GB on their board @ 1600 is not an option. GA has 2 camps ones that are against and ones that are in. I guess once the mobo arrives I can be part of 1

  • you seem pretty confident, than I suggest you to go for it ;) Good luck with your build =]

  • After all, more than a 1000 different reviews can't all be wrong under one product.

Maybe you might have a better luck though. I hope it won't disapoint you ;)

  • funny when you use that would have been bad

  • 5/5

  • awsome man
