  • key words tried to intimidate

  • that is more like noylan Ryan

  • That looks nothing like Maddux!

  • nothing at all like how he pitches NOTHING AT ALL

  • yeah not to mention Maddux wouldnt of missed the hole

  • Well, as a little league coach, I'm glad you're immitating Maddux's mechanics and not Orlando Hernandez's or someone else who has real busy and unique mechanics. Simplicity is key in pitching. Make everything efficient and you prevent injuries and mechanical problems.

  • Maddux doesnt step that far to the side and his motion is much more "quiet"

  • u r looking to left while in windup look always to batter.

  • Well, not all big leaguers do that, but yea, it's a good idea when you're younger and not as good because, well, we don't all have pinpoint control like Greg Maddux. Really, unless you are Greg Maddux, you don't have control like Greg Maddux, hell anymore Greg Maddux doesn't even have control like Greg Maddux, he's still the best pitcher of this generation though and a top 5 pitcher of all time based on consistency alone.

  • Yeah, you are stepping way to the side, Maddux steps back to 45 degrees... Shorter step allows you to reach a better balance point. Plus Maddux lifts his hands over his head. So you don't even look close. Kinda reminds me of pedro martinez though... i'd have to look to compare.

  • Looks like your short arming a bit to I would sugerst looking at some slow motion video of maddux

  • not even close to Maddux

  • not saying I'm maddux dipshit

  • no but you did say you're trying to imitate him.

maddux is a very cool pitcher =)

  • in the beginning you might want to step straight back or maybe back at a 45 degrees angle. right now you're taking a huge step off to the side. you want momentum directed straight at the target. with that step you have now, you're forcing yourself to pull back to the side before you start to move forward.

  • thanks a lot for the advice, I'll do that
