Yes it's a mature duck and surely is used to humans. She wants food but this guy isn't offering any. By the way, DON'T feed bread to ducks. It is very bad for them. Give them green vegetable matter or watermelon. Pumpkin or squash too, especially if it's soft. Or sliced apple. No bread!

This is a white pekin duck male. I have 2 of these ducks male and female. Males are very social like the one in this vid and love to be rubbed, but females tend to keep their distance and be wary.

pekin ducks make great pets, they are very social and interactive considering that they are used to humans, however I wouldn't say they are good HOUSE pets, I have two and they are really fun to watch and spend time with and always produce a great laugh, but due to the amount of under fluff they shed when they preen and the amount of poop they produce its best if they stay outside

white ducks like this one are domesticated pekin ducks, not normally wild. it's likely he was formerly owned/raised by humans who then perhaps set him free because they couldn't/didn't want to keep him anymore.

If you can, designate an area for the duck that isn't caged, or a cage large enough that it doesn't seem like one.

oh man...I WISH I could get a duck to come up to me! Ducks are so cool. I like going up to the lake in the mountains, and the ducks usually get so scared that they swim or fly away if I get within 10 feet of them. I can't believe this is a wild duck...it's too tame. It was probably someone's pet and they let it go or it escaped. It has no fear of humans at all.
