All i know on the subject is that the purpose of "blipping" the throttle is to match the engine speed, with the transmission speed. Making for a smoother, more stable down change. Apply this to a situation...mid corner in the split second between braking and accellerating with the clutch pedal released the engine and wheels will rotate at the same speed. Heel toe will have no effect on the engine speed at this point.

No incorrect, i disagree because the speed (rpm) of the engine is measured from the crankshaft and the crankshaft is of a smaller diameter than the wheels on your car (unless your riding on say 5 inch wheels).
In short, for the wheels and engine to rotate at the same speed then the wheels and the crankshaft would have to be of the same diameter.
Look on a motorbike for example, say you have a 10cm front sprocket and a 20cm rear sprocket, If the 10cm front sprocket done 100 Revolutions Per Minute then the 20cm rear sprocket would be doing 50 Revolutions Per Minute.
Original debate was, I said when people heel and toe, when they blip the throttle whilst braking they are also rising the engine rev's to keep the engine at a higher speed preferably to keep the engine in it's powerband and you disagreed.
There is a other reason, its not jus for the downshift, its also for keeping your revs in the powerband exiting a corner. In the eyes of a proper driver anyway.

What are you talking about?!! If you're braking while going round a corner during a race you will lock the wheels and spin, is that your idea of a proper driver? Marek is right, it's for saving time during a down shift. Only saves about 0.2s per shift, but over the course of a race it makes a big difference.

I can see that on a turbo car, keeping the turbo spooled is important. On an n/a car the only way to keep it in the power band would be to slip the clutch which is counter productive.
Specifically in this video - heel toe is about smooth braking and smooth downshifts, not powerband.
Hance why i said it doesnt matter if the car is NA or Turbocharged.
Yes it would be more beneficial on a turbocharged but also works on NA as there is a lot of NA cars where the power band is at the higher end on the rev range.
E.G. Honda Civic Type R and the Ariel Atom 2 with the CTR supercharged engine.
Watch Ayrton Senna heel and toe the Honda NSX R, When he brakes and as he downshifts he blips the throttle,
Unless you are left foot braking there is a point mid corner where the car is coasting (not accel. or brake) with the clutch released - at this point the engine speed is dicated by the gearbox output speed. It wouldn't matter if you had revved the car to 9K rpm between downshifts because the engine speed would still be the same at this point.
As the power band of most rally cars is high in the rev range, this technique can also be used to ensure that engine rpm does not drop below the power band of the car while under braking. If this happened there would be a delay between the driver accelerating after the corner and when the car responds; this is especially true in turbocharged cars. This technique ensures that maximum power can be reached the instant the brake pedal is released and the accelerator fully depressed.
or simply make power shift by putting the transmission on neutral with the clutch and make the engine rpm up and take off the clutch fast so it got more grip

Atoms for the US market were first made by Brammo under license from Ariel UK and featured Ecotec engines sourced from GM. In 2008, Ariel sold US production rights to TMI Autotech, who makes the cars with Honda engines.
Why not just order one w/o an engine and put your own into it. A Bluebird Pulsar SR20DET would be perfect for one of these. You could probably even get a turbo 'Busa or ZX-14 engine and put in one of them.
Clarification: it's the Honda engine in Europe and the Ecotec engines (there ar a range of options) in the US. The more important thing is that this is a bordering-on-affordable supercar that looks infinitely more fun to drive than any Ferrari or Lambo. It's only about as practical as a motorbike, but dang, could I have fun on a sunny day what an Atom!

I disagree because at no time at all should you be coasting mid corner!
You brake before a corner, then you feather the throttle to mid corner and power out of the corner gradually (Gradually to not get wheelspin).

As the power band of most rally cars is high in the rev range, this technique can also be used to ensure that engine rpm does not drop below the power band of the car while under braking. If this happened there would be a delay between the driver accelerating after the corner and when the car responds; this is especially true in turbocharged cars. This technique ensures that maximum power can be reached the instant the brake pedal is released and the accelerator fully depressed.

or simply make power shift by putting the transmission on neutral with the clutch and make the engine rpm up and take off the clutch fast so it got more grip

It's called heel-toe technique. It results in smoother downshifts. Look it up!

How does heel toeing when braking keep the engine revs up when accellerating? This may have some effect in a turbo car but the Atom is normally aspirated.

Atoms for the US market were first made by Brammo under license from Ariel UK and featured Ecotec engines sourced from GM. In 2008, Ariel sold US production rights to TMI Autotech, who makes the cars with Honda engines.

I see that they are going to make a V8 model of the Atom. A 2.4L V8 with 500 horsepower. Its sounds really cool.

Why not just order one w/o an engine and put your own into it. A Bluebird Pulsar SR20DET would be perfect for one of these. You could probably even get a turbo 'Busa or ZX-14 engine and put in one of them.

1. atoms have less weight and are more wind resistant
2. atoms have special tires and a 1 of a kind of a clutch so that would just be a waste of time and money

The Atoms I've seen have Yokohama Advan Neove A048's.
Those tires were custom made for the Lotus Elise. Or maybe only the AD07's were. At any rate the Exige uses A048's

Clarification: it's the Honda engine in Europe and the Ecotec engines (there ar a range of options) in the US. The more important thing is that this is a bordering-on-affordable supercar that looks infinitely more fun to drive than any Ferrari or Lambo. It's only about as practical as a motorbike, but dang, could I have fun on a sunny day what an Atom!
