Honestly though, drag races are pointless, the Atom is just a wonderful piece of engineering, truly remarkable that they built a car that costs only 50 grand but has performance levels of the Enzo and Keonigsegg while being one of the best looking and funnest car ever made.

All i know on the subject is that the purpose of "blipping" the throttle is to match the engine speed, with the transmission speed. Making for a smoother, more stable down change. Which any racer/instructor would recommend when circuit driving. I believe this is the main reason for heel toe. So can you please stop the arguments?

wils - Just think for a second what the clutch does. In very simple terms it connects the wheels to the engine. If we ignore gear ratios then if the clutch pedal is released then the wheels and the engine will rotate at the same speed - correct?

Apply this to a situation...mid corner in the split second between braking and accellerating with the clutch pedal released the engine and wheels will rotate at the same speed. Heel toe will have no effect on the engine speed at this point.

No incorrect, i disagree because the speed (rpm) of the engine is measured from the crankshaft and the crankshaft is of a smaller diameter than the wheels on your car (unless your riding on say 5 inch wheels).

Look on a motorbike for example, say you have a 10cm front sprocket and a 20cm rear sprocket, If the 10cm front sprocket done 100 Revolutions Per Minute then the 20cm rear sprocket would be doing 50 Revolutions Per Minute.

I can see that on a turbo car, keeping the turbo spooled is important. On an n/a car the only way to keep it in the power band would be to slip the clutch which is counter productive.
