OK some send me here cause he had the same problem, so troubleshoot let's clear the deck if it is a software issue:
1. Download updated drivers for all your hardware. Do not use Windows Update, get a program like HWiNFO32/64 and find out what model numbers are your video card, sound card, motherboard chipset and network card and get the drivers from the manufacturers themselves.
2. Get Direct 9.0c get the Redistributed version of DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010).
when ever i go to launch my games on my pc itll run fine but with out any lag before hand or glitches my game will just flash to a dark blue or dark green colour and the music will still be playing or audio for about 5 seconds then it makes a loud buzzing noise and i have to unplug my pc because i lose all control i dont know if this is an outdated or dying video or graphics card isssue a ramm problem or what? please can some one help me?
This is also happening to me every hour or so, I have a 2500K @4GHz, and gigabyte HD 6870OC........ I also have 12GBs of DDR3 1600MHz memory, so it's not running out of ram.
Happens to me all the time. idk what to do system specs: Phenom 965 x4 and a XFX Radeon 6870. makes me mad that i cant even play the game i bought :/
i got the solution the problem its about memory refresh , if u have 2 gigs of ram its really probable that ur going to have this problem , the fix its increasing the system paging file to 5000 mb at the computer properties
Mine just did this for the first time ever...sound card is less than six months old...thinking it's something to do with my overclock...but I hit the power button as soon as it happened so I must have caught it before it completely locked my system because it closed and windows proceeded to shutdown...will do further investigating to be sure...will reset my bios and run stock and try different in-game settings.
i had this problem. if you disable your sound card remove the drivers and just use a USB logitec headset or creative labs any usb will do the game works great!!
There are two reasons for this freeze (either or both can apply):
1. Realtek Soundcard (Disable in BIOS and use one for PCI / PCIE)
2. Punkbuster freezes GPU because of Hardwaremonitoring Tools running in the background (GPUZ, HWINFO64, CORETEMP, CPUZ, you name it) - terminate them whilst playing BFBC2
i think i know what that is i had it with some other games check if your GPU is overheating mine was..... it was idling at 90C and it always done that when it got to hot.....?
fucking aye. just downloaded this game... not worth 20$, thought it would be a fun time killer until bf3. FUCK this game sucks.... but so fucking fun online
Yes, i have exactly the same problem in multiplayer mode. And of course I have realtek sound card... I thought It was by my new graphic card (I have now HD6950) but when i saw many people with the same problem as my I'm very dissapointed DICE. Is there only one solution to solve freezes bugs using other sound cards? Is there some patches to fix it?
I have this problem on my new pc I built, seems to only crash on bf2, bfbc2, and moh. I think i fixed moh by forcing it go use dx9 but nojoy on bf. I keep trying to play BFPR and I know I make people angry when I crash like that. My on board audio is realtek so maybe I will try to disable that and see what happens :)
my FIX of this kind of freeze: - not sure if the first step is necessary, but I did it anyway...
STEP 1: disable "AMD High Definition audio" in device manager (Sound, video and games)
STEP 2: google " sfc/scannow ". To try it, go to Start>Accessories>Command Prompt (run as administrator (right mouse click)) make sure it says C:/windows/system32 in Command Prompt, then type sfc/scannow and leave it to finish, restart & play the game
I have the same issue, happened on a computer that is 2 weeks old 20 minutes into multiplayer. Singleplayer went like a dream and never dropped beneath 40fps. Multiplayer runs smoothly until I receive some very bad lag and garbled/distorted audio for a few seconds (like if the CPU is overloaded), then it drops into a grey screen, then the video signal totally disappears. -> Hard restart
The weird thing is that the computer remains running all the time but the display isn't getting a signal.
This happened like every ten minutes on my previous gaming computer Phenom 965 x4 and a GTX 470. Now that I have built a new gaming computer with a i5 2500k and a 6950 [flipside AMD/Intel Nvidia/ATI[AMD] and it is still doing it every ten minutes just really pisses me off. Cant even fucking play the game I bought.
@vaguedustin go right click 'computer' in the start menu then click 'manage', then if it opens. click 'device manager' then click 'Sound, video and game controllers' then if you have an onboard soundcard, disable it.if you have realtek, click 'Realtek High Definition Audio' then click disable, but the consequence is you cant play with sounds unless you have a USB head or a Soundcard.
@Warfreak57 Yeah that had nothing to do with it. If you are running Sapphire Trixx or MSI Afterburner close them. Problem solved. Been playing for hours.
@vaguedustin **edit- thats only for Windows 7 Ultimate x64. and yes, that also works, MSI Burner had some conflicts with PunkBuster, and that makes your PC crash
it happened to me when i forced bfbc2 in dx9 mode. then it keep crashing all the time so i had to crash reset the os. i changed it to dx10 instead of auto then woah! it worked back :p
FIXED: found out a confliction betwen PunkBuster and any Windows removeWAT or cracks. So google " sfc/scannow ". To try it, go to Start>Accessories>CMD (run as administrator) make sure it says C:/windows/system32 in CMD, then type sfc/scannow and leave it to finish, restart & play the game
theres a 300 pages long thread on the official forums about this but ea doesnt give a shit. way to fuck over your customers. and then they wonder about piracy?
I'm getting the same thing except I get it with video on screen. It's frozen video but with that same nasty sound. It didn't start happening until I started using a crossfire setup as far as I know. I haven't found a fix yet. I also get this issue in NFSS. Thats the only other game I'm playing at the moment i'm also playing BFBC2-vietnam not just the regular one. Sometimes I can play for an hour or two and sometime it just goes every 10 minutes or so.
@DeNikow THANK YOU! That worked 100% That's all I changed and I can confirm this works, I just played 4 hours w/o crash when before I crashed 5 min. into every game.
@fragtheplanet k ill disable it, although i have always used a X-fi card, and get the crashing with both sound setups, also i had +fullproc in the startup line, might have a relation to hte crashes, ill get back to ya soon
