  • The master of Jimmness

  • what a fuck.he is dead.why not.haha

  • none of yer dolby HD pish,by the way.good call man.

  • bbbbbzzzzz...Your insane sir...Jim was an amazing poet and performer, but he is decidely dead sir. Damage from alcohol abuse compounded by herion use in a hot bath led to cardio/respiratory arrest. Sad but that's all there is to it. I wish he were alive, but he was a comet....bright and fast.

  • ANDA BIEN DROGADO EL REY YEAAAAAAAAAH

  • He is still alive, the whole death thing was a fake, he comes down to Florida once and awhile, those that know, KNOW. He had a choice of going along with the fake, or being taken out. I am glad he chose the former.

  • @bbbbbzzzzz anyway, jim is dead. james douglas morrison could be alive, but jimbo is dead. Hard to understand.!

  • @pablicimo he has died. but he's not dead.

  • @bbbbbzzzzz lol okay

  • 6 idiots

  • This is a great song! I have often heard that critics and fans did not like The Soft Parade album. It was a departure from the norm.I love it

  • Wow, great find. I had just gotten rid of a giant lowery and bought a farfisa, going for the ray manzarek set up. But with ampeg jupiter 42's if I remember right. Just to play those songs. Talk about memories. Thanks for putting this up!

  • Fukn. Amazing!!

  • I saw Jim in Melbourne, Florida at an Italian resturaunt.

  • It is wishful or sinful which one is it.

  • this is better than chris bosh

  • i used to do a lot of strong acid the early 90's and watch this show a lot, it changed me.

  • Simply amazing. I will never forget you buddy. Jimbo I miss you bud.

  • The miami pardon was a tad late tho... better late than never!

  • great song. needs the orchestra though.....

  • @NASIMNASIM jaja

  • love to hear the wind cry

  • jim is the best part of trip

  • a very sincere verision of a unique song

  • This version sounds terrible without Violins.

  • Morrison in all his pie-eyed glory..lol

This song is so much better stripped down without the orchestration.

I think the band was consistently getting better with each album...It would have been interesting to see where'd they go if Jim stayed alive a little longer.

  • @MrFloydianSlip yep, the whole soft parade album is an overproduced piece of crap. The songs themselves were actually pretty damn good songs when they were kept simple. This whole sound stage performance which featured 3 songs (soft parade, tell all the people, and wishful sinful) from the soft parade are all awesome when the doors are just being the doors and not gunning for some Sgt. Pepper type album.

  • DISINTEGRATION? HE WAS GOING TO TAKE THE DOORS MORE DEEPLY INTO BLUES, I BELIEVE.

  • I wanna bum around like Jim...

  • Intersting that Ray is using a Vox organ here instead of the Gibson G101.

  • Beautifull, very sad song. Sounds like the end of a vivid dream.

    The door's were awesome.

Jim was like a flawed diamond.

    GENIUS!

  • You are witnessing the disintegration of Jim...

  • @SuperSweaterVest Sadly true ... :'( One of the policemen who discovered his dead body in Paris, said that the looked more like a 57 years old bored-depressed guy than a 27 years old rockstar about whom Pam' was talking ... :'(

  • Oh by the way, PBS was pretty much the only place The Doors could play. After the Miami incident, many venues banned them from playing there.

  • Who is on the keyboard?

  • @Ms70sFlowerchild ray manzarek

  • this is the way i like jim

  • i adore this song..long live The Doors..RIP Jim

  • what is this video from!!!

  • 0:28... adds to the effect

  • oliver stone can blow it out his ass

  • I love this song

  • great

  • his music was amazing. there would never be another one like him.

    so mellow i love him.

  • Comment removed

  • Damn good tune.

  • Notice how Jim protects his left ear from the drums? The same way I do when in the presence of drums. Have to hear what's going on in the studio.

  • @apeshitdig dude your a complete faggot.

  • @morrison1405 What's up hill billy?

  • this is good music to be druck to ;)

  • SOOO much better without the overblown studio orchestration overwhelming what is yet another small scale masterpiece.

  • The video is 40+ years and still touches all of our souls, a true masterpiece. RIP Jim

  • You and me and sunshine

  • Long live the Lizard King.....

  • Oh really mekes me cry

  • There are a bunch of haunting, sad songs that have really moved me, but you gotta look for them. Theyre on all their records. Just heartbreaking.

  • Beautiful song and I love this performance. :)

  • At 1:55-2:00 there is a genuine sadness about jim. I find this song a masterpiece but at the same time very sad. RIP Jim, hope your doing okay wherever you are.

  • thebest song ever

  • love to hear the wind cry....

  • Great drummer!

  • Jim looks sad, great song

  • good music. i had many great trips with their music. NICE

  • What a pariah of music....truly a man of genius.

  • jim looks tired

  • @stonesharve

This is explained on the DVD. This is after the arrest for showing his junk and Ray talks all about his mood being down and other particulars.

It's a great DVD if you can get your hands on it. I found it at Best Buy for $7.

  • @stonesharve

he was dinking alot. this is towards his end.

  • @stonesharve He Looks Stoned

  • @1974LEDZEPPELIN at that time ever stoned and so on....

  • @stonesharve Jim WAS tired

  • @stonesharve

    Great, want a cookie?

  • @stonesharve Bet he was partying to hard the night before, but he hits the vocals dead on. This is one of my favorite doors songs.

  • @stonesharve The Doors explained on the commentary to this performance that Jim is subdued because the Miami trial was still going on. (Miami was in March and this performance was in May). The weight of the trial was heavy on Jim's shoulders. And this being a televised performance (on PBS of all channels), Jim didn't want to act too "crazy" because it would give the people out to nail him even more ammunition for the case against him.

  • @Fivehorizons2000 plus there wasn't an audience for this show... just the band playing and the camera crew. I'd imagine that would also cause him to not want to act out.

  • @stonesharve That, and he must admiire the music

  • @stonesharve this was around the time of the miami incident when jimbo got his nob out on stage, he had a court case hanging over him for lewd conduct and was facing 6 months inside. So changed his image from lizard king to mature crooner that you see here.

  • @stonesharve he wanted out

  • @majorisore Agreed, him and Dave Davies of the Kinks.

  • @stonesharve I think Jim looks fed up by America..given this was after the Miami fiasco trial.

  • @stonesharve jim looks sad. the world sucks!

  • @stonesharve Think of all he'd accomplished in his life by that age. He had done more than most people in a lifetime, at 25.

  • @stonesharve

This was right after all the Miami trouble. The road towards destruction from that point on.

  • these days werent his last. he was in the middle of his album career. he just got so much done in those two years people think these are his final days in music.

  • what deep voice in his last days¡¡

  • 'Can't escape the blues'...Unless you're Christian.

  • Sounds much better than the album track...I was there when The Doors were experimenting with strings and horns(Soft Parade)...That sucked big time. They deviated from their true sound. I knew Jim, he was too much a gentlemen to say anything about it. You'll notice his name is not on many songs on the soft parade album.

  • @SuperSweaterVest

This strings and horns just made SP really enjoyable.

  • He hated the soft parade. Sounded better live.

  • True.

  • I like the strings and stuff, but you're right man. I like the original, carousel/electric/carnival sound THE DOORS had. Nothing tops it! PURE GENIOUS!!

  • 1:55 una expresión invaluable....

  • This song is done perfectly - way better than the over-produced album version which basically ruined it.

  • Wow, I love this performance. Everyone is on top form here.

  • Krieger must be the worlds most underrated guitarsts...except by fellow guitarists.

  • @edmonddantes64 I started playing guitar bout a year ago because of him..still cant play atleast half his shit. The man is a hammer on/trillin machinnnee

  • @edmonddantes64 Even though I agree, I disagree. Rory Gallagher is the most underrated guitarist ever, he dedicated his whole life to guitar. But of course, Robby's masterful touch is amazing. He should be held in higher rank than people give him credit for. His chords are heaven and his lead parts in L.A. Women are sublime. I think its because Jim was always in the spotlight that he isn't more famous.

  • @edmonddantes64 yes i agree and song writer too. He wrote this

  • Yep I always have and always will say that.He had a great style to his playing and I loved his melodys within simple chords.Rolling stone put him 91st or something on their list of 100 greatest guitarist I couldn't believe it,they actually put The Edge,Kurt Cobain,Lou Reed,Ike Turner,Jack White and Johnny Ramone to name but a few ahead of him.I just don't get it,The guy created all this wonderfull music with the The Doors over 40 years ago and he's actually still walking among us today.Legend.

  • @SRV1DOORS1HENDRIX1 I agree he def should be in top 20 or 30

  • @edmonddantes64 Krieger is STILL an amazing guitarist!

  • @edmonddantes64 Kriegger is one of the greatest guitarist of his epoch and beyond. he is fundamentalpart of the Doors song, sound and music, imprescindible.

  • @Quetzalcuetlachtli

fundamentalpart? I'd say so he wrote more the %50 of the lyrics and songs....

  • terrible audio

  • terrible acoustics-

jim even covers his ear to hear himself and not the echo.

  • so y are the acoustics so bad? i'm a musician too. the sound is kinda crappy and dry or something right?

  • i think i have the same documentary video with a much better audio...i'll see if i can get some time to upload it

  • you and me and sunshine

  • VelvetRevolverMother IS Cool!

  • the good of the rock

  • i love this song, just perfect

  • Who Else Here Thinks Jim Morrison Is God Plus Me If You Think So Jim Forever In Life 1943-1971

  • Jim is indeed a god my friend

  • you got that right man

  • heeeeeeeell yeah.

  • SHE GET HIGH!!!!!

  • we want the world and we want it???

  • Yea Man What Song IS That From Ive Been Tryin to find it & Father Yes Son I Want To Kill You Mother I want to Fuck you all nite baby COME ONE

  • Tha's from "The End" by The Doors. It's the last song on their first album.

  • oh i know that lyric and song i just wanted to post it :)

  • yeah like that guy said..

the lyrics i last posted are from "when the musics over"

and the other one is "the end"

  • aha! excuse me?

  • yea what version theres alot of versions of when the musics over

  • Ohh hmmm.

    i only know of one.

  • My fav ever!!

  • youre an absolute cock you know that jim morrison was the cleverest out of them you fuckturd so hes the nerd if its anyone

    stupid posing asshole

  • fuck you polesmoking motherfucker ive got a right to my opinion, if you dont like it eat a hot bowl of dick, faggot!!

  • You clearly have no fucking idea what all these guys did for the face of music, as a collective, jackass. Jim Morrison just wouldn't have had a solo career as a singer, but probably a poet. I don't think he would have been able to feel any other music the way he did with The Doors. They were just four guys whose coexistance sustained what the music was at it's essence. Jim Morrison was the Shaman, but Rob, Ray, and John made the music that posessed him, my man.

  • i do understand their contribution, all im saying is they wouldnt have been shit without jim, just look at the records they made after he died nobody wanted to listen!

  • dude read Jim Morrison Life, Death, Legend by Stephen Davis very good book explains all of Jim's relationships

  • jim was cool with robby and ray but more robby. jim enjoyed awkward moments and im sure he didnt mind playing mind games.

  • Wishful sinful instead of someday soon was written by Krieger, think jim liked both.

  • Robbie looks like Steven Wright.

  • lol, glimmer2158, you're so right about that! I knew Robbie looked like someone else I admired, lol. Btw, I am pretty sure Robby wrote this.

  • pbs performance

  • like the stash on morrison lol

  • Robby wrote this song, jim didnt like it but i love it, great singer, and robby's an underated lyracist

  • I think this is from the tv special the doors had on educational television [the blues project also had one called bach and roll ].

  • ARe you talking about Tell all the People? I have never heard that Jim didn't like Wishfu Sinful. Contrary to popular belief, Jim also liked Tell All the People, but just didn't want people to think he was telling them to get their guns and follow him,but he DID like the song...this from John Densmore himself.

  • John Densmore is full of shit. I guess you read his book...I hate that guy. All he ever did was put Jim down and act like he was better than him. If he didn't like Jim so much then he should have just found another drumer to take his place. Not just stay in it for the money and then try to keep the rest of the band from play year later.

  • Yeah, I got that impression too...also from reading Ray's book that its safe to say that Jim didn't like John either...sad that they were basically just co-workers...they sure did put out excellent music though. I've seen the current line up 5 times and they are great....sad they can't get along over a stupid name thing...

  • It was John that Jim called from Paris. The lawsuit was more than just about the name, it was about maintaining the integrity of the name and what it represented. Ray is a whore, John is the cool one.

  • Ray is a whore but John is the ass.

John is full of shit. The only one who was cool with Jim was Robby and sadly he's the one who gets the least monies.

  • commie chicoms can eat shit and choke

  • I think you're doing a great thing, informing people about an issue that gets no attention. Good.

Where do you live? Maybe we can organize something. Drop me a message.

  • Better than the studio version as the studio version has no keyboards.

  • right on.

  • this song makes my day

  • Jim Morrison the lizard king

  • wishful sinful wicked blues

  • reminds me of the days fishin n gettin high with my friends n bros... cannae beat it long live the sounds of the best band.... ever.... :)

  • the elegiac quality of these songs, the undertones of sadness. a sultry sunny day toward sundown, the beach emptying, the tide coming in. hungry gulls encroaching, picking over the remains. the tide leaving, you are alone.

  • Mr. Mojo risin'

  • God.Lizard King

  • you speak the truth.

  • mr. lizard king

  • James Douglas Morrison (Jim Morrison) ,hi is the lizard king

  • lejos una de las mejores canciones de los door....

  • This song is one of my favs. What a magnificent performance. I daresay Jim sounds better here than on Soft Parade.

  • Crust I was thinking the same thing. Something about the PBS show, there was a lot of felleing and emotion in that performance.

  • i love you morrison i love doors!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of my favourite songs. Took a while to grow on me, the video helps. You can see it in his eyes, he has had enough.

  • "love to hear the wind cry"

  • nothing like "take it as it comes" and "you are lost little girl" and "the soft parade"

  • This song is one of my favorites, I prefer the studio version for how perfect he sang it. My favorite part is the last part when he says "right back where I came", but kinda slury. Most people dont recognise/appreciated how many personalitys Jim had on his vocals his skill at vibrato and emotion that he can put into the song is UNTOUCHABLE! Look at his adams apple its a trip!

  • You can't sing like this and not be into it - Jim is feeling it 100% :)

  • i can sing like him..:)

    i <3 his voice..:P
