i think ill like the cargo more than th intercontintial because this one is way more sleek the interocntatal has alot of seat up stars and looks like an airbus a380 but cut in half :(
lol at the comments. so many boeing and airbus fanboys. okay, I am a boeing man but you've got to respect airbus. As someone mentioned in the comments, the 8I isn't exactly a best seller, luckily the Freighter is basically a no-contest. good video anyways.
When I was younger I always worried about there not being the 747 when my children were older, I have a one year old little boy now and I'm happy that he will grow up and still fly the 747, maybe his own children will too.
Not too sure the execs. at Seattle will be sleeping so well. Whilst orders for this are reasonable, orders for the 747-8I are abysmal. But having flown the A380, I can see why it is gaining so many more orders. It may not be the prettier bird but it's the future in terms of passenger comfort and profitability. Maybe Boeing ought to focus on the freighter given the lack of competition.
I find it intereting how the Europeans think people in America should be impressed with their Airbus A380 ... Why? ... It's only slightly larger than the 747-8 ... and it took you guys only 40 years to FINALLY build a Jumbo Jet ... FOURTY (40) years ... Think twice before you pat yourselves on the back ...
And I agree with several of the previous comments ... The design of the 747 is timeless ... An incredible flying fortress !
the a380 only has thrust reverse on the two inner engines cause its much larger then the 747-8 - if all engines would have been equiped with thrust reverse the outer engines would spin around gras aside from the tarmac
@panzr This ain't no old girl - this is the prom queen! You know of course Boeing has considered double-decker supers on 3 occasions and rejected it every time - and now Airbus sees why - limited role, production nightmare, logistical headaches. No thanks!
Its funny how Airbus has to keep coming up with new airplanes, and yet the 747 has been around since the late 60's. shows which company knows how to make a good airplane..
@lepper24dudes well for one the 747-800 in longer more efficent made of composits boeing pretty much took everything they did with 787 and put it into a longer 747
As soon as Lufthansa get´s their first 747-8i i buy a ticket quick as hell on any long haul flight. If only the 747-8 had come before the ugly A-380 then Boeings order books would have been full by now. Makes me wonder how many airlines today regret that they bought the A-380, i guess MANY MANY.
lol like what??!!!! emirates dint regret they ordered like 50 plus a380 the the add more a380 orders 30 more a total of 90 so you call that regret??!!!!!! your so stupid!!!!!!!!!! you talk too much boeing and airbus are just equal no need to debate about this!!!!
the jumbo jet is back and better than ever. the difference between the airbus a380 and the all new 747 is that the a380 does a lot of things brilliantly but the beautiful boeing does everything brillantly
4x thrust reverser could mean shorter stopping distance than a380, the a380 has 4 engine but only have 2 thrust reverser. I guess the passenger version of this plane also has 4 thrust reverser
i dont like this plane as much as the 747-400! i reckon boeing would have more orders if they did the 747-400 but with new engines and same body shape. instead of these big planes that no one wants!
haha The Jumbo Jet is BACK! Will always be the queen of the skys! Man that is quiet!!! I love the sleek new look! I've been waiting a long time for this first flight too! The 787 is also extremely nice! Airbus does a crapy job on making an airplane look nice in my opinion.
This is amazing and it is a wonderful achievement. I have always been an enormous fan of all 747s. I have flown on so many. I am so glad they have now built and flown the 747-8 freighter.
@eskercurve You have to experience it first hand. Either as a passenger or a pilot or a financial officer who's got the honor of looking through the millions of dollars spent on maintenance and fuel. We as outsiders can't say shit like "boeing is better" or "Airbus rules!!"
That's a really fucking beautiful plane
