Man I remember watching this years ago when I first started playing. It inspired me to play and get to a ranger. Now I'm a bowmaster in this realllly different, newer version of maplestory. It's alright.. haha. I can't believe I never trained once at Aqua Road though, I always thought I'd be doing some cool training like this.

ur training is very efficient;

when u lure the bonefish, u summon puppet at a location where the bonefish cant get to the puppet; thus allowing u to take all the time in the world to blast them all away.

take 8:30 - 9:30 for example. when u lure all the bonefish, u would want to summon puppet on the platform just above u; far to the left. at this point, the bonefish would be unable to get in range of the puppet to attack it, so u can simply spam arrow bomb to clear them quickly and efficiently.

Thanks for the input, there actually was a reason as to my puppet placements.

Since this video was made nearly 3 years ago, most archers were only able to do about as much damage as you see on the video.

By placing the puppet in the mob, the chances of the bone fish casting their "anti-weapon" skill is lower because they have the option of attacking the puppet, or casting anti-weapons. In your case, they only have the option to cast anti-weapons.

This wastes a lot of time and slows down training. You can experiment with this to confirm.

However, this video was made three years ago, so it does not consider the changes that the game has gone through up until now. Because of this, your method becomes a good alternative for those who can kill a bone fish in 2 - 3 hits (with strafe) since the attack power of the average ranger is probably at least 2 to 3 times greater than mine 3 years ago.The video description gives reason for all my tactics

because bomb arrow can stun, which potentially stops the bone fish from casting their "anti-weapons" skill. If it casts it, you have to wait 30 seconds or so to do more than 1 damage. It also is stronger than arrow rain when it hits critical.

every goby house is like a small mob of vikings, and since they appear so frequently, you'll find gobys much faster. ive trained at vikings in the past, but it was much slower compared to this (unless you're in a party).

it may be different now since there are better items; high damage is easy to obtain. so you are going to have to experiment with that one.

also with puppet, you can make anywhere a sniping point :)

for exp rates, i generally feel that gobys are better than squids solo, but squid parties are better than gobys solo.

the best would be a goby party though - with the right amount of people: 2 attackers and 1 priest (with hs)

that's what i've found from my experiences, but it could be different now since it was a very long time ago. try experimenting on your own to find a definite answer.

I use supreme pizzas for goby touch damage, along with barbs for bonefish + goby house damage, and sorcs for mp. IMO this is the cheapest way to train there.

You're going to want to have a high level of AR, most people recommend 28 at least. AR is your main attacking skill for when you're attacking the gobies. You could try using puppet and then strafing them all to death, but you'll probably find that other places will yeild better exp.

Hello Im lvl 100 ranger at mapleSEA Cassiopeia

I would like to advice at this kind of lvl (100-120) You can go party at Rissel Squid for better exp. Gobies good exp for lvl 85-93 (approx 20-30%/hour w/o 2x EXP)

I can say that arrow bomb better than iferno or arrow rain because of 60% stun. Arrow rain will do more stable dmg and iferno has +150% dmg due elemental weakness. Xbow/Sniper will better to train at goby due their ice shot/blizzard that can freeze.

Sure it's faster to party at rissel squids (with a half decent party, there will be max HS - here there is NO HS. If you make a good party on this map, this will be faster), but keep in mind, this is SOLO. You're comparing two very different things.

Oh and inferno is NOT 150% dmg on these monsters - they are strong against fire element. DMG = LESS than normal

Arrow bomb is a nuisance when used improperly.

and just because snipers can freeze, that doesnt mean rangers cant train here effectively

arrow bomb is better to use when fighting the gobys are the bottom of the map (better than arrow rain even, because it hits higher dmg more often if theres a large mob), but inferno will be better anywhere else (although rain will beat inferno in every possible way on this map in terms of dmg)

Puppet doesn't have "godly" defense, but a different defense calculus. That being said, I was wondering if the defense calculations changed from the time in the video to today.
