  • SUPERFASTIC!

  • Any way to assign the expression pedal to control output volume? I have no use for onboard effects.

  • @JeffTele yes.

  • @mikefrommontreal Well, I can't find that option in the manual. Got any hints?

  • Great Job! I just got mine 2 days ago.....Right out the box I loved it!! Can't wait to really mess with it!!

  • drum on track 3 ? separete ?

  • Super Fantastic!

  • Hi there, I'm experiencing a glitch on my RC-300 Loop Station. Can you tell me if you have experienced the same problem? I made a video to demonstrate it here: youtube.com/watch?v=m_TGrEVH8_A If you have any insight, let me know, thanks!

  • Thanks matey..I am geting one!!!!!

  • Hey mate, thanks for posting the video, I've got a couple of questions if you don't mind.

I have the rc-50 and it's my first loop pedal, I love it but find it limiting, especially when doing songs with chorus'.

On the new one can you set the first track to automatically stop as you start recording on the 2nd? One foot tap? It's a problem for me as I want to do live songs and that's really hard when you have to tap stop and then start. Is it worth the upgrade?

    Thanks again!

  • @bizarrefruit Yes you can.

  • DAMN! I SHOULDA GOT THIS. i got the RC-30, although the RC 30 is still AWESOME. but damn, this is just boss (no pun intended)

  • Are the phrases really independent. So for instance phrase one is intro (2 bars), phrase 2 is chorus (8 bars), phrase 3 is verse (4 bars) etc.... Is there a lag between switching phrases like on the Rc-30?

  • @49skate No lag. The Phrases can be set independently with each channel having it's own measure. If channel one is 1 measure, then you can set channel 2 to be either 2,4,8,16 and so on in relation to your first measure. And so on. It all has to be done before you start recording though, so you need an idea of what you are going to be doing.

  • @mikefrommontreal

with respect, maybe you answered in your response to 'mike'...i'm a noob to looping. If i record a short loop(say a 1 measure percussive, may 2 seconds long), then record longer loops after that short one? will the 2 second loop keep looping, and i can ad after that(loops 2 & 3), say longer rhythms, etc?(like the Boomerang)

  • How many effects do you have at same time when you plug your guitar in the input

  • @Carlosprs Sometimes none, sometimes a lot.

  • im from novaskotia and i dont know bubbles julian or rickey

  • FANTASTIC!! I'm sold. I heard it can run on batteries too. Is this true? If so, that's a huge selling point for a guy like me. Also (and sorry for the questions), do you know if I can order an RC300 that runs on 240 volts (instead of the standard US voltage current of 120)? Thanks for your help bro. Great video.

  • @cronkitesatellite No Batteries, you are thinking of the RC-30.

  • @mikefrommontreal Cool. Thanks for getting back to me. I just got my 300 last week. Still need to get used to it, but it was worth the ching. Keep on loopin'

  • I want metal sound on pedal 1 and I want cleen on pedal 2 how do i do that? I only get metal sound on both! pleas help me!

  • @RGReloadz You mean using the internal FX right? press the Loop FX button then rotate the Memory/Value knob to INPUT. Then record using distortion on pedal one then change the FX for the cleans.

  • @Charbarhousemusic tank you sooo much!!!!

  • @Charbarhousemusic but i got the metal sound on my amp, and when i play metal on the 1 pedal, and then i try to play clean on pedal 2 i just get clean on both!

  • Great review man!

I wonder if you know if I can control the volume of the built-in rhythm section with the onboard expression pedal?

    If yes: HOW?

    Thanks in advance-

    PEACE :)

  • you can answer via email too.mattmakena@hotmail.es.Thanks..

  • Hi mike,I want to have a different effect on each track but when I change from loop 2 with bass fx to track 3 the bass effect on track two disappears and goes to track 3,I've tried write to memory and it says "stop rec2 so I stop and memorize but doesn't actually do anything except memorize bass on track 2 but still disappears when I want to memorize a different fx on track 3.Is it possible or?Or is it that you simply cannot assign different fx to each loop?

  • Nice vid Mike - do you know if you can assign individual pedals / tracks to individual outputs?

  • have you tried to midi slave sync this to a clock yet? i know it says rc300s can sync together, but lets say something other than that is the master. also, when you record something, then change it's tempo, does it warble and distort the shit out of it like the rc50?

  • HELP! How do you set the rec/play/dub people to record on one hit? Example. I record chords on channel one, press stop c1 and record on c2 ... Than I wanna go back to record a bass line over the top of c1 ... The problem is you have to hit the pedal twice! Which puts the bass out of time!!! There must be a function to set this??

  • awesome demo buddy! I currently have the RC-30(demo on my channel). Are you able to connect it to the RC-300 and have them work as an extra phrase? How would you connect them to work in conjunction with each other? Would you be able to do a demo of that? Thanks for your time and keep rockin'!

  • @timdeltoro hey tim. you will need to connect to a second rc-300 via midi. then go into the memory function and scroll over to assign and select one machine to be the slave and one to be the master. demos on my channel. bless!

  • cant get the loop fx to work...it goes from flashing straight back to normal...ready to chuck it out the feckin window....HELP !!

  • this video is ... Fantastic

  • im still having difficulty connectin sub out to bass amp it gets too loud. I dont know if im doing something wrong. If I enable the sub out the bass guitar plugged in at right input goes to my guitar amp too.

  • awesome vid man, you're one of those people that should be sponsored by the hardware makers, cuz ur vid is making me feel like going out and buying the pedal tomorrow!

  • Roland has now delivered to Glasgow yee haaa, Got my RC 300 Saturday...Super Brilliant Machine..........Anyone who has an old Looper of any sort needs to upgrade seriously...!

    Nice one Roland

Thanks Mike for all your enthusiasm matey, i was almost believing you were an employee...

You are a true musician and gadget head, nice one mate.!! Keep the vids coming...

every one into mikes place >>>>>>>

  • Super fantastic video, man! ;) Is it possible to send the metronome or the drum rhythm only to the phones output so it doesent sound through any other output?

  • The one thing I must know before I get too excited for this is - Can you use the expression pedal to control individual loop track volume??? Oh man I hope so...

  • Hello again Mike.

I noticed on this vid you have other gear linked, is it a switcher for other gear etc. Is this your guitar effect, I would be using a Pod line 6 XT live, I also have extra jack in/out on there for external gear, possibly looper etc...Not got my looper as yet, be quiker going on a flight to get one it seems!!! not good....the money is burning a hole...FAST...help!!!! argghghghhghhgh com on Roland !! get your UK act together with shiping, easy jet could be an option for us all

  • Great job Mike !!! my MC-300 is on its way to me !!! And the video was just -- super Fantastic

  • (1) Sup Mike! I'm happy that you fixed the loop lenght with the "synch mode", would be a MAJOR issue for me if it wasn't working properly! So I sold my RC-50 a couple of days ago and I was starting to feel anxious when the Music Store (Steve's, Montreal) told me it was backorder for the North America!!... BUT, I just had a call from Archambault 10 minutes ago and my "FANTASTIC" RC-300 IS ARRIVED!!!! I will get it tomorow morning, YEP!

  • @Spesiell I don'y use a drum machine or any midi device. The manual does state it can sync up to an external clock and that it can either control an external midi device, or vice versa have an external midi device control this pedal.

So I hope that answers your question.

  • @SJRogers I immagine so, there are two separate inputs for boss footswitches or expression pedals.

  • pretty gassed about this thing. Stupid Roland had to delay shipping. Should get it soon though.

  • i think it would be awesome if you showed how you actually loop say with A guitar would be awesome.

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Once Bass and Beats etc are down we can both concentrate on the Vocals n Guitars.

We will hope to play LIVE with no external backing. Both our timing is pretty tight nowadays, were getting on a bit u see LOL...although we think were still 28, far from it. Anyhow The RC 300 seems to be the ONE that can handle ALL. Its great guys like yourself have tried and tested most loopers and passing this info to everyone. first hand knowledge cant be beaten..

COME ON ROLAND GET THESE DELIVERED ASAP!!!

  • Cheers Mike , Sure is a long wait!

The two piece were sorting presently will possibly work from a wave drum mini beat recorded live and getting looped int o 4-8 bars whils im listening to other band member play guitar. he may just play a bass line so i follow him. pehaps if easy actually record this ( timing track) Bass and Hats/ Shaker / Guitar Slap/ as i can then play Bass Drum from my foot as the Korg wavedrum mini ( on a stand) and also has a clip ( amazing) you'd love this..Bass n Beat !!

  • Hey Mike...whatcha recon with using this LIVE? My friend and I will be gigging as a Duo using RC 300 /Pod XT live and GR 55 Midi Synth, With COSM, check it out... the Guitar sounds are awesome. let me know your views on LIVE use of RC 300...Its only 19.47 yesterday at your end.!!

  • @Yahoomediaclub I bought this to use live. Solo and with a band. The trick to looping with a band is to first lay down a click track then have every one play to the timing of that sound, I will usually mute the strings and strum a feel and then start building on that. Drummers and musicians tend to have their timing sway a bit so if you loop to the band and not the way I mentioned above the timing of your loops will eventually be really out of whack.

  • Yes it can sync up to an external clock! You can add optional expression pedal to this looper and control your external midi device through a foot switch! Finally they have answered everyones prayers.

  • @mikefrommontreal You can also control this pedal via external midi device as well! WTF!

  • Super Brilliant Machine BUT real pissed off that mine is sitting on a F---g trailer in the cold.halfway down the country.. and it wont be delivered for 7-10 yet, thats NOT good...wish i could drive to collect, maybe i might just do that!!

Love every item mentioned Mike, Fab Vid Its all becoming clearer...NO Glitches !! Pre Programing is cool...Patch 1/ Patch 2 can be used for more added creativity ie Chorus for a track so not to disturb Into and Verses..WOW!

    CHEERS again

  • @Yahoomediaclub I feel you, this is sweet and once you get it you will forget about that wait. I know I did, I paid for this two months ago.

  • @mikefrommontreal I too pre-ordered mine a couple of months early, and I agree that it was worth the wait (thanks Sweetwater!). However, for now I have decided to focus on learning my new Nova System first, and then the RC-300. Together they will be lethal. My amp is drooling in anticipation.

  • Mine's just sent out so i should be getting it soon and I can't wait. thanks for uploading these videos, there's nothing else out there and I'm hungry for info! :D

  • Forgot to mention when you hold down loop fx pedal for two seconds, you can cycle through all your effects with the pedals in bank number 3, you can also cycle through all 99 channels with the pedals in sound bank number 1, there is also no delay or glitch when you switch from channel to channel, so you could theoretically pre-program a song that has 99 parts each with its own 3 channels and do it all with your feet on the fly.

musical interludes between songs maybe, sky is the limit.

  • Did I mention it was super fantastic?

  • The different lengths loops already had me sold (please demo this when you can) but the separate sub-out is perfect !!! Send the keyboards and drum loops to a separate speaker from the guitar amp......... This is so going to be my Xmas present !!! thanks again ...

  • Woo hoo ..... been waiting for this review like for ever !

    thanks Mike !!!

  • Thanks so much for the quick and excellent review. I'll be picking one of these up this week!!
