  • johnny cash didnt record on verve records- but i do appreciate your sharing this song off "hello im johnny cash" 1970 and yes he was off pills he quit in 1968.

  • I am a huge fan of the man in black...my dad worked for him for a little while when he was a teen, and he tended to the horses and kept the stables. This was during Cash's time when he was addicted to uppers and downers, and he was a little paranoid, so he fired my dad since he had looked at Cash's daughter in a wrong way.

    He never held it against him and still loved JOhnny Cash until the day he died last year.

    I haven't heard him do this song before, and loved it.
