they dont HAVE to. turn a blind eye. use discretion. dont become a cop. what if it was illegal for women to go out in public. and an officer arrests a woman for it even though he disagrees with the law. the officer is still doing WRONG. the law does not equate to justice in all cases.

there falsely arresting people not violating anyone or anything for laws that violate the constitution which they pledged to uphold. there is no damage to anyone and no victim. freedom of speech is one of those laws. actually if you think about it the cops are the criminals.

"Walden" Civil Disobedience, i plan on doing that in Florida to protest the rachel hoffman case but doing that in Florida you can expect more than just a slap on the wrist, i already have been arrested for possession and they said if i do it again my minimum sentence was going to be 18 months in a county correctional facility, imagine all that for a plant

I don't think anyone agrees with all the laws (even cops). So when your mother, sister, daughter, whatever is assaulted...don't call the "nazi" for help.

the problem is that the people that do the assaulting aren't the a-1 targets. people have a right to pursue happiness and use pot if they wish to do so. the laws are made by lobbyist with no intent on to help the individual but to protect the industries that benefit from mj being illegal. Thomas Edison even made a car out of hemp that was light weight and pliable. The real reason it's against the law is because it's useful.  But I shouldn't have to convey all that to protect basic rights.

Calling these police officers Nazis is idiotic. Which of the 25 planks of the Nazi platform do they subscribe to? I know people use Nazi to mean tyrannical, but it just makes you sound stupid and unthoughtful. If you mean tyrannical, say that. If you mean actual Nazi, please be specific.

Andrew had it right. Andrew being civil to the cops helps encourage people to focus on the message instead of people yelling like grade schoolers.

Regarding being a jerk to the police vs Andrew being classy and civil, remember Gandhi: "if you want someone to stop hurting you, make them stop wanting to hurt you"

Andrew's actions show he's not acting out of hatred or other emotions and not doing this on a whim. He's not doing it because he hates cops. He's doing it because he has a belief that he is willing to sacrifice for and THAT message is powerful. When you act like a grade schooler, people just assume you're acting out of emotion.
