Uh... fascinating video. I'm guessing you might have hit the stump once - possibly. I really don't understand why people post vids of themselves shooting. If it's not a unique weapon, difficult (and successful) shot, or extreme terrain - who cares? Guess I just don't get it.

@Choncho203 Just like the .45 is the US Army officers pistol, the .38 Super is the Mexican Army officers pistol. Thats where it gets its popularity in Mexico.

@Choncho203 The .38 super is extremely popular in Mexico since any gun that uses 9mm and 45acp are banned for civilian use. The loop hole was that handguns in the .38 caliber could be purchased. These babies, especially the 1911 variants became extremely popular for drug lords. Many drug lord "legends" have lived and died with a .38 super in hand. This is why the gun is highly valued and why you are seeing many videos on it by Mexican folk. It's pretty much the unofficially Mexican handgun.

@MrPissonyourgrave Think of it as in between the 9mm and a 45ACP. It has the speed and accuracy of a 9mm handgun and just a bit under the power of a 45ACP. I do not think it's more powerful than a .357, the 357 round is even bigger than the 45.

Frank Hamer, the last real old west gunfighter preferred to arm himself with supers when he went hunting Bonnie & Clyde. Many more knowledgeable than me think it's an effective caliber.

@CrystalHunter1989 .38 Super is MUCH MUCH faster than a .38 Special. Its about on par with the .357 Magnum on Muzzle energy so id say it makes a good self Defense Round.
