  • only good draft pick the jackets have ever had

  • Imagine if Nash was on pittsburgh on a line with Crosby, or Malkin, that line would fuck shit up.

  • Strong words coming from 2 franchises that are in no position to be dishing them. It's like one ant getting picked on by a slightly bigger ant.

  • columbus is a team that i expect to give a run for there money

i think nash and carter can develop a good chemistry together

  • nash is def. one of the best players still playing he needs to go to a good team

  • oen of the best players in the league. I wish him luck this year with Carter on his line.

  • @beaucam78 Lol... Uhm. Clearly you havnt seen what the twins can do. The twins are the best in the game today, bisides Crosby, Ovechkin and Datsyuk. Maybe Luongo and a first for Nash and RJ Umberger. We dont need Mason. We have Cory Schneider who is better than most starters in the league.

  • @beaucam78 and Retire without a cup.

  • I say if Ryan Johansen develops into a number 1 center for columbus, nash'll break 100 points. Just give Nash skill around him.

  • boumeester's face was priceless, he thought he'd be #1 lol

  • Wish he went too a team like Vancouver Or Pittsburgh Or even Boston

Look at him with the Twins in Vancouver, Crosby in Pittsburgh and Horton and Bergeron in Boston.

    Needs to leave CBJ

  • @RapRockHockey suck a dick puss the jackets are doing pretty good

  • @RapRockHockey it's guys like nash that make the nhl a miiiillion times better than the nba and nfl. it's all about money in those two leagues. but in the nhl you have a guy like nash who may not be in the biggest market, but he's one hell of a player and he makes the league that much more balanced by not giving in by going to a place like vancouver, pittsburgh or boston. FUCK BIG MARKETS!

  • @RapRockHockey Him with the Sedins would be like thanksgiving dinner every time they played...

  • @GunerzPGBC yeah dude, trade Raymond and a second rounder, maybe likr Raymond and that russian kid they got for the moose sheroikov & a pick , for nash and like rj umberger

  • @RapRockHockey I think hes worth a bit more than that. But like you said, he would be awesome with the Nucks or even a better team.

  • @RapRockHockey you're dreaming lol

  • @RapRockHockey we'd never except that

  • @RapRockHockey Raymond? You're fucking me! THAT mediocre player for Rick Nash?! Umberger is worth more, too. A second round pick from the Nucks would pretty well be an early 3rd round pick, and Shirokov is a complete wild card. Not something I think they'd even consider.

  • needs to leave columbus

  • @BabbarKhalsaZindabad it would be a dream if he comes to carolina =D

  • Great player, the size and the skill really put him on top and he is worth every penny that the jackets pay him

  • jay bouwmeester looks pissed

  • @UsHeHate33 Maybe someone should mention this to him before every game so he can actually play with some emotion.

  • human highlight reel....i said this many times but its true.....hes a big strong powerforward with great hands...this guy is a forward in a defencemens body....

  • What a great player, if he was playing on a decent offensive team I could easily see him getting 50 or more goals.

  • Maclean is an absolute douche bag. This is the only good thing he did for the Columbus franchise.

  • Id say the most under rated player in the nhl

  • just cuz he went 1st overall doesnt mean he cant get owned by tj oshie

  • Comment removed

  • Would be nice if blue jackets signed Kovalchuk. Kovalchuk + Nash = Hardcore

  • LONDON Knights are fuckin beasts in making future NHL superstars most of the 1st overall drafts are from them !!!!

  • love that guy

  • is that Andy Frost?

  • Nash is the best... i watched him all the time when he played for the London Knights... i remember when they used to cheer" We Want Nash, We want Nash" whenever he was on the bench... it was amazing

  • 2002 was a terrible draft year

  • was that jay bouwmeester at 0:30?

  • yup

  • overall 4th.

  • yes, he was taken 3rd overall that same year

  • i think SO!

  • probably

  • If Nash was given decent talent around him he could easily break the top 10

  • the blue jackets have had 7 seasons to build around Nash 1 more year and he's moving on to the Leafs

  • Might want to change your plans, Nash signed a 8 year extension today. Suck it Leafs fans.

  • ya he did....he actually apologized on 'Off The Record' for signing in Columbus. He said he won't be old at 34.

Honestly though, I'd rather have Kovalchuk than him anyway. Kovy is way better than Nash

  • lol he didnt apoligize for anything. he said that Toronto didnt please him so he wanted to stay in Cbus,

  • Toronto didn't please him? that's a fucking lie

He said it was his dream to play in Toronto as a kid. He said he and his family like it in Cbus but he won't be too old at 34 to sign with the Leafs.

Well we don't want him at that point. He can waste away there all he wants.

  • just watched the OFR thing. He apoligized to the Leaf fans because he knew they wanted him. You can have him when hes 34, he'll be like the rest of your team, washed up.

  • No thanks, we don't want your sloppy seconds.

He's not that good anyway. The Leafs will win a cup long before Columbus does - book it

Honestly, I think he likes being a big fish in a small pond. From what I sense, he is affraid of the pressure of playing in Toronto. He'd rather waste away in Cbus the rest of his career. He'll be lucky to win a playoff game while he's there

  • what r Toronto fans going to do when Atlanta throws a shitpot full of mooney to Kovalchuk. He'll sign back with the Thrashers or get traded to a contender. which superstar will Leaf fans persue than?

  • Actually they did pretty well so far, signing the best goalie outside the NHL, the best college player that everyone wanted and 2 of the top defenseman available via UFA.

I think they'll have no problems building a contender, with or without Kovalchuk.

Lots of good young talent in their system.

  • And wow....you're pretty cocky for a guy whose team has NOT won a SINGLE NHL playoff game in it's existence.

Not a single game. And they've only played 4 total haha.

I honestly can't believe Nash would even sign there. He'd be a god in T.O but again, I think he's affraid of the pressure.

  • why would anyone want that fresh off the boat russian

  • I dont know, Leaf fans jumped on the Kovy to toronto rumors after Nash signed.

  • wetbacks

  • washed up? is that so. Clearly you got the wrong team in mind then

The Leafs lead the league in rookie games played last year and signed 2 of the top hockey players outside the NHL that most of the league was after - Bozak and Gustavsson.

  • lol seriously dude, Jackets will make it to the cup before the leafs even come close to a playoff appearence, book it

  • How much are willing to put down to back that statement up?

The Leafs I'd say are playoff bound within 2 years. So you're saying the CBJ are going to the cup final in the next 2 seasons?

Pass over the drugs that you're taking - I'll take a hit of that.

How much do you want to bet - to back up your comments?

  • Yes im saying the jackets will be a serious Stanley cup contender either next year or in 2 years. I can guarantee the Leafs will struggle for about 3 or 4 more years.

  • Yep, we'll see about that one. I'd put my money on Brian Burke building a contender before what's his name in Buckeye Country

  • lmfao, you fucking leaf fans.

  • yea leafs fans are damn morons. I'm gonna laugh my ass off when Kovalchuk also re-signs. Toronto fans won't be able to handle the fact that they have no chance at a star.

  • ahah yeah man, "we're GOING to get Tavares!" yeah ok the Burke...

  • were did Burke ever say 'I am guaranteed to get Tavares?'

What team do you cheer for anyway?

  • Canucks ;)

  • Sorry to hear that : )

Seriously though, did you hear Burke guarantee he'd get JT? I didn't.

And good for him to have the balls to attempt it. He did the same for the Canucks in case you forgot and they have a solid top line because of it.

    Burke is the fucking man.

  • Lol, thanks. :P

I was told he did, I barely watched shit this year.

And yeah, I love Burke, he was great.

  • good gms dont trade two first and 1 second round draft picks for injured players

  • SWING AND A MISS

  • i agree hes great but easily? i think hed be top 15 at best

  • @sonrac1 Kinda hard to say, I mean the best player he has had around him was what, Fredrik Modin? Give this guy a playmaking center and he be a top 5 scorer.

  • look at what sedin did without sedin. its really a tough thing to find out some players benefit from great linemates

  • People are such fucks. Nocashstyle is a joke account. He posts just to piss people off. You people who take him seriously are just so fucking dumb.

  • nocashstyle.....u are an idiot and obviously know jack shit about what a good hockey player is. Nash is easily one of the best forwards in the league.

  • His stats say otherwise. His career high in points doesn't even break 80. That is not "easily one of the best forwards in the league" material. I'd call him top 20. Not top 10 and certainly not top 5.

  • you got to remember nash is the best player on columbus, which isn't saying much, if he was on a team like chicago or boston we talk more about rick nash in the top 10 for sure

  • I agree. He has no bona fide no.1 center to help him out and yet, he is the best player on that squad. They had a great season, despite the early injury to Brassard, and they ought to actively seek a center for him. Columbus has a bright future, provided they play their cards right.

  • MacLean didn't have many bright moments as GM, but this was his coup de grace.

  • I am a huge Jacket fan, I agree Nash is not one of the top 5 or even 10 best in the league. Being one of the top 15 Hockey players in the world means your pretty damn good. Thorton, Crosby, Maliken, Ovechkin, Datsyuk are all better players than Nash and theres others, but for the Columbus BlueJackets and their fans Nash is a perfect fit as our Captain. For our team and city he is the best player in the league.

  • everyone better stop bashing rick because he is the most amazing player ever. He has broken so many records and he is just a good overall player. he setup up so many amazing plays for the rest of the team. Ovehkin and Crosby are players that are cocky and are in advertisements to get popular. Also rick is a very classy player and he doesnt play dirty at all. peace!!

  • Your a homo

  • Ovechkin is way way way way way way way better than Nash. Nash is good but not that good

  • ovechkin is a ignorent cocky player nash has more skill

  • First of all it's ignorAnt. Second of all yes Nash is very skilled but for a # 1 pick he does not put up great points.

  • look at stamkos dumbass

  • Exactly pussy. I don't think Stamkos is going to be anything great at all.

  • except nash is only gonig to get better in his career. you know only led nhl in goals 3rd yr in it, 5th this year.. goal of the year last year, ya hes not a 1st round draft pick... good one. remember he was drafted before the new nhl also genius

  • Ok? and that justifies his mediocre stats in the new NHL?

  • Nash is more of a complete player than the guys he gets compared to. His overall game is better than guys like Kovalchuk or Gaborik, even though those guys have better offensive skills.

  • gaborik yes... kovalchuk?... no lol

  • i noticed something, there are alot of draft vids on youtube, BUT only the 1st overalls, this reminds me of of Nelly's song #1, "one is the winner and two no body remembers" lol

  • i think Filatov will be better.

  • Filatov better than Nash? Hmm... right.. keep on dreaming.

  • i said he WILL be better. personally i think Nash is overrated

  • Nash is overrated..yeah. ok.. so one of the most feared power forwards in the NHL is overrated. Do you even realize what you are saying, no one is afraid of Filatov, even if he gets to Zherdev level no one will be afraid of him. Nash, you are afraid of because he can beat you in so many ways.

  • yeah nash really gets a lot of hype for a guy who hasn't even broken 70pts a season yet. (yeah he might do it this year but one decent year that may or may not be a pt per game season is not all that special.) i can name 10 forwards that is better then Nash easily. and no one is afraid of Filatov yet because he hasn't played more then 8 games. but when he is Nash's age ( 24) i could see Filatov being much better then Nash.

  • ok, this is not funny anymore. Name me one good center that he has played with, seriously, this guy scored 41 goals and 38 goals respectively with Andrew Cassels and like Peca or a washed up Fedorov as his center. How much more do you expect out of him? Filatov may get more than 70 pts, sure, but try doing that with no playmaking center. Nash would get more than 50 goals if he actually had someone to play with. Whenever we play Columbus, Nash is the only guy that we are afraid of.

  • If he is really that good he should make players around him better. not need players to make him better. im not saying he isn't good. just not nearly as good as people make him out to be. i mean look at ovechkin his rookie year. he didn't have any more talent then nash had. or Thornton when he was in boston. or crosby his rookie year. im not saying he isn't a top 6 forward. but he isn't the top 5 forwards in the league.

  • And you think that Filatov is going to be a top 5 forward in this league? Remember, you are not comparing him to Thornton, your argument was that Filatov is going to be better than Nash. So unless you think that Filatov is going to be Ovechkin, Crosby, Thornton good, it's faulty. I've seen Filatov play, he doesn't have the physical power of any of the great Russian Forwards like Malkin, Ovechkin, and Kovalchuk.

  • im not saying Filatov will be Ovechkin or Malkinesq but i think he will be better then Zherdev. i could see Filatov getting 80-95 pts per season. but the thing about nash is ( i don't know if you live in columbus or not) people here think he is one of the top 5 (literally) in the league. thats what i mean when i say he is overrated. he is good but not top 5 forwards in the league good. i can easily pick 10 players that i think are better then him.

  • I am also not bashing on Filatov, my personal opinion is that he is more of a Zherdev than a Kovalchuk. And if you were to ask me who would I rather have Nash or Zherdev, that's a no brainer. The other thing about Nash is that he is not a passer, so he doesn't neccessarily make others better, Thornton, Crosby and Malkin are all centers. Ovechkin is just a freak of nature, no one is as good as him.

  • How can you think he is one of the best in the league if his BEST season in the league scoring he was only 18th.

  • The other thing that you've got to remember is that Nash is keyed on by the other team's checking line and top defensive pairing, ALL THE TIME and they still can't shut him down. Unless Filatov is going to be like Ovechkin, Kovalchuk or Malkin, I doubt he'll be as good as Nash.

  • Nash is nowhere near as good as you make him out to be. Yes he is skilled and I would love for my team to have him but he is just not one of the top forwards in the league

  • Do me a favor and name me one good center that he has played with. I am not saying he is as good as say crosby or ovechkin, but he is definitely top 10 in the league. He can beat you with speed, skill, and size.

  • You must be listening to those dumb ass Columbus announcers. Look at Kovalchuk he has NO ONE on his team and he still breaks 90 points. If Nash was so great he would make other players around him better

  • Now, i am not saying Nash is better than Kovalchuk. Again I am not arguing that Nash is top 5 in the NHL forwards, but when you get beyond the top 5 into the top 10 territory, he is in that range. There are guys, eg. Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, Kovalchuk and even Datsyuk who are visibly better, but he is in the next 5 amongst guys like Thornton, Ignla, Zetterberg, Lecavalier, Hossa, etc. And for the guy previously who suggested that Filatov is better it's just absurd.

  • Even mike riberio puts up more points than nash

  • Nash is an amazing player...I would love to see him to play as crosby's wing..But the jackets got one great draft pick.

  • Rick Nash and Sidney Crosby those two would be the known as the dynamic duo (I just don't know what to say). Hopefully one day that will happen along with Malkin and Mason would make the team ...

  • Great Job picking this guy...what a stud!

  • I never liked McLean all that much but I thank everyday he had enough brains to trade to get the Number 1 pick to get Ricky! One of four good moves he made at the drafts!

  • I think it might be bouwmeester. He was supposed to go first

  • who is that dude they keep panning across to ?

  • Yeah, it's Bouwmeester. The Jackets traded up to the 1st pick from the 3rd pick in order to ensure they got the guy they wanted all along, Nash.

  • The Day A Brand new star in the nhl was born on this day!

  • Super Stud
