Your a graet teacher love you tutorials. My favorite part of this video was when you mentioned the purists and about how it doesnt matter what lens you use. I laughed to myself when you said that.
I am new to photography and have just bought a Tamron 70-300mm lens to go with my Nikon D3100. Your video has been a big help. Can't wait to get shooting! Thank you.
Thank you for backing up my theory on using a zoom for portraits and close ups! I have been using mine ( which I love.) and recently had a photo published in a calendar. As you say, the purists will say to use a macro or prime for these shots, but i simply don't tell them I used a zoom. They didn't seem to notice or care,..lol
Thanks Mate! It's nice to see a review ie: tips vid that actually shows both how and why and the results as well. I am not a beginner but at one time I was and this is the sort of video beginners need to watch! It is a great help to them when done properly, you nailed it! Great job !
thank you so very much! you made a great impact in my photography this was one of the few things i was lacking that needed a fix and this does it just great.
@tropicallanterns Thanks for your comment. This particular lens is a Tamron 18-270. Very versatile as you say - but image quality is soft around the edges at extreme apertures and focal lengths. As a lens to have on the camera when you go for a walk or holiday it's great - but for fine detail professional work it doesn't quite make the grade.
Your videos are so helpful! thank you :)

What lens are you using if you don't mind me asking? It looks like it would be very versatile. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video.
