The only film I love Barbra Streisand in. Not a fan of her Movies. Since the title of the movie is "What's up Doc?" This Drug store scene where she stands and sees him then everywhere he looks in the drugstore and her antics remind me of how Bugs Bunny acted.. LOL
@coralarch Have you ever seen "Bringing up Baby"? Well, "What's up Doc" is loosley, loosley based on that movie. I agree with you on remaking this movie exactly, but just like Bringing up Baby, you could use the same formula: Nerdy guy+crazy girl+weird situation=slapstick comedy.
@7tosha9 Thanks! No, have not seen that one- but it rings a bell. Was Katharine Hepburn in it? You know what I find unbelievable? Barbra Streisand hates this film and doesn't think it's funny, yet she's utterly brilliant as Judy Maxwell. In fact,. the entire cast is perfect!. I agree about the formula- but it takes an extremely gifted director to bring this sort of looniness to high art.
@coralarch it's more like she dismisses it as something minor or way too far in the past. Movies never age, and this one was anything but minor... Ryan had just became the world's sweetheart, I think it's his first movie after Love Story.
@allbrazilian I think you're right. This moveie is indeed ageless. Ryan was in the TV series "Peyton Place", but as far as I know, his first film was "Love Story". Did you see him in "Barry Lyndon"?
Just saw this film and I love it. Couldn't keep my eyes of Barbra, she is phenomenal acting in this! I love her character and her timing and lines are terrific! This has become one of my favourite films...

Taht's right
How much do I owe you?
$68.29
I beg your pardon....Well how much is it without bufferin?
By FAR the funniest line in this movie. That one interplay is a comedy mastermind.
