Dragon Force is Protect (Barrier) and Shell (MBarrier) combined into one spell, no different than Wall. But the Mighty Guard (Big Guard enemy skill) is better since it's also combined with Haste.

Coin is the 2nd level of the Throw materia. Once you get it leveled up and get Coin, it switches back and forth between them so that you can select both of them. Since he had the master command materia, it was doing the same thing as if you had a leveled up Throw materia.

Tonberry! Heh, I said "These guys" in unison with HC when the Gargoyles showed up; they cheesed me repeatedly with level 4 death back in the day..urgh.

Going through those jumping sequences made me feel like I was playing a platformer, especially when it became exclusively 2-D..though, true, platformers don't have random encounters.

Too bad Dragon Force doesn't either speed your characters up to insane levels or make them play power ballads..then again, that would be rather anachronistic.

Bit of advice attach that hp absorb to master command on cid and it will work on slash all.

Holy crap, that's works! I'll have to rethink my materia arrangement now. Although, I'd probably want the HP Absorb on Cloud, since he needs to keep his HP high to deal more damage.

I knew you could link HP Absorb to a few less useful command materia, but didn't realize that linking it to Master Command would carry over to Double Cut and Slash-All.

On a side note, might that be considered abusing a bug? Given the materia it normally works with, it sound like something unintended.

Linking HP Absorb directly to Double Cut does nothing, which I believe is how it was intended to work. Yet, linking HP Absorb to Master Command on the same character equipped with Double Cut, allows it to absorb HP. That sounds like a bug to me.

Well, the ones you got are obtained by killing the (Supposed) hardest fight in the game, so it may as well been one of the many rewards the game gives you for doing the ridiculous number of side quests. It sounds to me like it was intentonal, honestly.

You could not parachute in. Parachuting in caves is not the safest thing to do.

Cats could have funny ways of getting your attention. One of my cats likes to tap your arm to get you to pet her. Sometimes she grabs your hand so she could pull herself up and rub against it.

Well that is Base Jumping, you need to be fairly good at parachuting, because you have alot less room to mess up in. It is also not really best way into hostile territory.

That was Parachuting. They were much higher than what BASE jumping is. That the problem that they would have jumping in this case just not enougn time to delpoy the chute.

Also I don't think Midgar is as defended as it seems, they allowed an airship to fly over without any problems. (guess that would be because their HQ just had the top few floors blown up.

But we are thinking too much into a game where the main characters could live from long falls.
