Life is significantly different in HK compared with the mainland...I mean we are one of the world's leading international financial centers. We have a lot of personal freedoms that our mainland counterparts do not have like the freedom of speech etc.

@LUCAS57642 A history lesson for you. During the cultural revolution where the wealthy and intelligent "bourgeois" were prosecuted/tortured there was a huge brain drain of ppl migrating to HK to escape.

Yes things have changed much but HK is still ahead in a great many aspects when compared with other major cities like Shanghai, Beijing etc. People are more cultured, civilized and educated compared with our mainland counterparts

Foreigners can indeed have better or you could say more convenient lives out there. I honestly have never met anyone who wanted or actually went to HK before.
