@zachyjc Actually yes. Pokemon Red and Blue are for DMG model. Pokemon Yellow, Silver and Gold are DMG compatible Color games. Also there is Pokemon Pinball and Pokemon Trading Card Game

I had a ton of GB games back when they were new out, including Final Fantasy Adventure, my all time favorite. I sold them all for a song years ago but am now trying to recollect them. While I can spot a fake GBA game a mile off I cannot find any info on spotting a fake GB game. Do you please have any info or know where there is info on spotting a fake GB game so I can be certain the ones I have collected so far are originals?

Yes I can help you. You don't have to worry about classic GB games. There are practically no bootlegs on market about this era (gray carts from '89 to '97) if you donät count those "100 in 1" games that are obviously fake. But if you are interested in Color games you have to keep your eyes open there are several types of fake games out there. Most of them are very easy to spot. You just have to know how original looks like. I even had some idea to make video out of it. Maybe I should then.

Thanks so much, this has been bugging me for a long time now, especially as I have been buying the gb Final Fantasy's from eBay. Having been taken for a ride with GBA games, before I wised up, I worried about the GB ones and couldn't find any info. So if you do have time to make a video about the color ones that would really help myself and many other people.

krebalo is right, original GB carts are less commonly pirated, but fakes/bootlegs ARE out there. Look out for these:

* GB carts that don't say "Nintendo GAME BOY tm" across the top. There are some fakes/bootlegs that only say "GAME" or nothing at all.

* GB color exclusives packaged in the original gray cart (not common, but I've seen a couple). Metal Gear Solid was GBC only, for example.

And if you collect only US region carts, stick to the ones with _oval_ Nintendo seals.

Thanks! Most of the cases are bought separately. Those are original but sellers have annoying habit to sell those as extra. I also have booklets for about 150 games. And 25 games are boxed or almost complete.

No, I don't beat my games, they are too precious for me (pun intended).

Actually I have many of them only for collecting purposes. There are loads of crap in on GB games. But as I like this GB era I also like all the crap that comes with true pearls. This is part of history ;)

Also I have found many forgotten and unknown jewels during my hobby.
