Jacen Solo was my favorite character in the Star Wars saga. I was upset when they killed him off. But they kind of play him out to be a hero in Fate of the Jedi by telling why he felt like he had to do it. To change what was to come/ supposed to happen into a brighter future as Luke finds out a lot when he goes searching for why Jacen turned.
He knew that very well, but it didn't avoid him to call himself "Sith Lord" after the murder! Jacen was just a pathetic weakling - without the dignity necessary to be a true Jedi or the intransigence to become a true Sith! In the end he was just a master of self - deception!
If Jacen really understood the way of the Sith at that point he would have killed his own, little daughter or at least Tenel Ka(as Anakin killed Padme, even if it was accidentally) and then nourishing himself by the inspeakable pain! That, and just that means to be a Sith Lord! Mara always was close to him, but not the way which would make her irreplacable for him! That fact made it unpleasant for him to kill her, but it wasn't a quarter of a true sacrifice and the hellfire of pain bound to it!
Jacen never was a Sith Lord! A Sith Lord must COMPLETELY give away to the dark side! Love, Friendship-all this means NOTHING to a Sith. There's just one and only thing important for him-Power! Through Power he gains victory! And where does he get Power from? From dark feelings, especially PAIN! That's exactly what Lumiya meant when she told him to bring a sacrifice of love! LOVE!
my best series that have jacen in it is legacy of the force and new Jedi order, and dark nest he is my favorite person in those series but i cried when caedus died in invincible, fate of the Jedi is OK but it does not have jacen in it
The poster is correct in his comment from a year ago. The writers came up with everything together... or... well, one suggested (Traviss on Mara for example), but all agreed. They wanted Jacen to be the imagine of his grandfather Anakin. In truth, the real sacrifice Jacen should have made was Tenel Ka or Allana, not Mara. If Jacen was a real Sith wannabe (at the time), he would have killed one of them. But like his grandfather, he was too pathetic to make that choice. Jacen is not special.
I haven't read any of the new FOTJ series. I'm waiting until all the books come out first. I had read a spoiler that we find out what happens to Callista though. That's a plus!! Excellent song for this vid btw. Suits this perfectly....
It's very hard with the way the whole series is turning, isn't it. You read and grow to love the kids as a new addition to Star Wars and then they start killing them off. I so hated it when Anakin Skywalker died. It was bad enough in the series to have Chewy die off in the first novel of TNJO series. I loved that kid over the whole 3. I loved that Jacen had turned as it became more interesting, then to have him die off as well was a bit sad.
@XLatinGioX The majority of it is in Legacy of the Force. I think it starts more around 'Dark Journey' in the New Jedi Order series, though I'd recommend starting from the beginning on that series to get the full affect. If you don't want to mess with NJO. I'd at least read the last book of NJO, the Dark Nest Trilogy, and then LotF.
@XLatinGioX Legacy of the force.... 9 books in total... google them, buy them, they are fantastic (so far, what i've read). I bet you could even get them cheap.
I really need some help!!! WHERE CAN I READ THIS??!!!!! dudes I also started looking in to all the star wars history and I want to know more!! Can someone tell me how I can learn and read more about the siblings struggles??
the main reason Jacen fell was because he was a good person caught up in times of warfare, suffering, and despair. Think of how many wars he's fought, how many friends and family he's seen die in front of his eyes...it would drive most people to suicide; not to mention the embrace of pain. Jacen, more than anything, wanted to bring peace to the galaxy, especially for his daughter, Allana. since nothing else in the past seemed to help, he tried the other one...the wrong one unfortunately.
In my opinion, Anakin was the greatest Jedi ever until he married Padme. He was the chosen one, and THATS why he was the best, because he stopped the Sith Lord when others could not. Jacen was NOT the Chosen One, so he couldn't go back to the light.
@SwordoftheJedi Yeah I was never a big fan of Jag either. I did admire his steadfast devotion to his duty and his determination. I agree with you that they are missing something. The last series I read that I really loved was the NJO with the war against the Yuuzhan Vong. Legacy of The Force was ok, but I hated seeing Jacen reduced to such a petty, whiny Sith. I'd just be happy with a Star Wars novel that didn't end in some depressing manner, for a change.
Does anybody else miss Jacen? Not the piece of crap he became, but the deep, philosophical Jacen who used to argue with Anakin? I still miss him from the series and no, people don't blame Jaina for Jacen's fall. It was own insecurities and fear that drove him to fall. Also his cockiness had alot to do with it as well. He made the same mistakes as his grandfather. I do hate how depressing they are making the series. Currently reading Allies and Jag and Jaina just broke off the engagement. Sad...
@treyc84812 Yes, I miss the old philosophical Jacen for sure. I'm not even buying the FotJ books, I think they are missing something, characters like Jacen perhaps? I've been borrowing them from the library. Haven't read Allies yet. I'm not a fan of Jag sooo I'm not too depressed over that news, lol. I'm sure they still end up together at some point though. I'm glad I'm not the only one who misses Jacen.
@SwordoftheJedi I'd have to agree. He was my favorite character in the YJK series, and even then, one could see that he had greatness inside him. Before the LOTF series, he arguably pushed the scope of Force theory farther than they had ever been pushed - and I'm sad to say that I think the era of creating "bigger ideas about the Force," as Jacen himself so aptly put it, died with him.
In which bok do you se Jacen start to fall to the dark side? because i've read the fate of the jedi books but I want to know how Jacen turned and the war.
@treyc84812 read the fotj books you learn about a creature that my have touched him and made him a little darker than one thought befor also jag is a good and honorable man. he should have your respect as well pluss the sith girl they brought out is almost a mirror inmage of jacen if he was raised by the old sith. so read the books of fotj
@cire706 I'm reading them now.. but it's tough here in Afghanistan.. I never said Jag doesn't have my respect.. I'm pretty sure I said I admire his steadfast devotion to his duty. Just not a big fan of him. I'm currently re reading Shadows of the Empire and then I'm starting back in FOTJ.. I'll be on the next book after they confronted Abeloth.. the one with Han on the cover.
@treyc84812 Jancen wasn't a piece of crap ever. Be loved as a hero and see the galaxy burn , killing Skywalker or ... murder Mara Jade, become a Sith, be hated and help the galaxy survive. What a choice... what a horrible choice.
just a comment here. I see quite a few posts about Jacen not being all that powerful andnd not establishing himself as a Sith. I disagree. Do NOT base a Sith off of Palpatine. He was the wrong kind of Sith. A borderline fake sith. If you really read the books and look at the TRUE sith creedo it is apparent that Jacen was the first TRUE Sith in quite some time. Just my opinion guys.
no one Cause jacen to fall.. and at the same time everyone did.. He became exactly what the galaxy wanted him to be... Only after did they realize they created a monster.. This is the way.. Anakin was no different, Except it was the Shabla Jetii who caused his fall...
@badgervsturtle wow part of that that was correct. The rest was VERY MANDALORIAN!! Good thing you Mandos got nerfed when Karen Traviss got fired, a mando cannot take a Jedi, Boba has NEVER killed a Jedi despite what Karen Traviss says, and Beskar CANNOT BLOCK LIGHTSABERS!!!
What sucked about Jacen dying at the end of the series is that he never had a chance to really prove himself as a Sith. As far as being a Dark Lord, he wasn't all that good.
he knew that to bring peace to the galaxy there had to be one more war, because the galaxy will never be at peace unless it is all brought under one ruler
That's why Jacen Solo failed as a Sith: because he went against one of the fundamental tenets of the Sith philosophy. A real Sith sees conflict as a means of self-improvement, not a pathway to peace.
@Sanguiluna you cant say that he wasnt good because the series really only focuses on his battle with Luke (the freakin grand master so tahts not really fair) and Jaina (whos destiny it was to kill him)... evey1 else he fought, he kicked their ass i.e the Jedi strike team that ambushed him on Coruscant
@CelestialFocus123 I don't have any issue with his power or ability. I know he was an extremely powerful Force user; he was just a really crappy Sith Lord. I mean, everything he did he did for the common good. WHAT SELF-RESPECTING SITH LORD FIGHTS FOR THE "COMMON F**KING GOOD"?!
@Sanguiluna does anyone ever see them selves as evil? did palpatine? No, listen to the words as you say them: "Once more, the Sith shall rule the galaxy and we shall have peace". Does that sound evil? It is, but it doesn't sound that way. Everyone thinks they are the good guy, they really do, even the Sith. It's just sad that Jacen failed as a Sith, just like his grandfather. any self respecting sith does not turn back to the light as they die. At least that is my opinion.
@Fallerup Do you REALLY think Palpatine was being sincere when he was talking to Anakin about peace? He needed some way to convince Anakin to stay on his side, so he played the peace card. "Peace is a lie; there is only passion." No self-respective Sith ever pursues peace, and Sidious knew that. He was a master liar and puppeteer, just like every good Sith should be.
@Sanguiluna perhaps not... but that's beside the point. my point is that they don't consider themselves evil. Anakin at least didn't, he considered the Jedi to be evil, because they were the enemy. Perhaps some Sith consider themselves evil, but Anakin didn't.
@Fallerup The Sith don't believe in good or evil; they believe in power. To them, morality is an illusion, and that the only law in the universe is that the strong rule and the weak serve. The Sith don't see themselves as evil, but they don't see themselves as good either, and they don't see the Jedi as evil, unless they're trying to turn someone to the dark side, then they'll talk about how evil the Jedi are to try to convince him to join.
i just realized again that JAINA caused JACEN to FALL know i know why you says shes so winy. you hate what she did. in my opinion jacen became a jerk in swarm war and LOTF kriff Karen Traviss for killing Mara. though who wanted jacen's to fall was it Aaron? Why don't you blame him? not JAYA. I hate how you just bite off her. Personally if any SOLO-Skywalker had to fall I want KILL Leia she Lost like 5 Lightsabers. isn't that bad dodo sor something? And don't you think of Zekk falling again.
Is this comment suppose to be to someone in particular? I for one do not blame Jaina. I do blame the authors for the direction the Star Wars books have gone. For me, when they killed off Jacen and now have disrespected Zekk, they also killed off my interest in the books. I read 'Outcast', but it just wasn't the same. That's how I feel about it, I'm sure others feel otherwise and I'm okay with that. If I knew it would go somewhere I'd take the time to write the series differently myself.
The writers, from what I have come to understand, made the decision of what was going to happen in the series as a group. Traviss came up with the idea to kill off Mara, she took the blame for that. But who made the choice to turn Jacen is anyone's guess. I'm surprised Troy hasn't gotten more flack through the years considering he ended up being the one writing of both of the Solo brothers' deaths. He wrote it, doesn't mean he made the choice. There's no proof that Aaron made the choice either.
still he is the first author in each series so it seems that way.. but Karen may have chosen that mayhem too.. well since traviss quite we can blame her all we want to mandos destroyed by the awesomeness of dark nest.. (inside story of a picture i found on deviant art.)
@Jayasolo2 Dont wqnt to argue mate, but jacen was drawn to the tassels and asked jaina if he could swap missions with her,He made himself Sith with some help from Vergere and Lumiya.
if Luke never made Jaina and Zekk find the tassels, Jacen would have never felt the dark presence and asked to change so it is more or less Luke and Jaina's fault cause Jaina agreed.
@Jayasolo2 It was Jacen's destiny to become Sith. He did lose his mind as all Sith do, in trying to kill luke(the very thing he became Sith not to do because of a vision) but he also achieved his goal even as Jacen before he became Caedus in the end didn't he? He brought peace and a stronger alliance to the galaxy.
DUH SOLO read that SOLO sorry it's just everyone so caught up with old rep. no one knows about the solo kids it's sad i hate the old rep. stuff we know what append stop(Lucas film) making more! YES HE IS HAN'S SON! HE HAS A TWIN NAMED JAINA TOO SHE ROCKS!
I usually never get sad... But for some reason this video brought me down, in a good way, it's probably cause of all the quotes, and how I grew up with the Solo children. Awesome video!
well the fan art was supsed to be true i mean it was a big spoiler cuz it was the cover of the book. so it was obvious that jaina killed him there were few fans that thought he sliced her as she tried. but greta song!
Mara still was regretting the fact as she was a hand so was Lumyia. but Mara had that soft spot she didn't want to be a hand but she let palatine control her. thats what i think
You know what i dont understand. If mara was the emperors hand why didnt he make her his sith apprentice. Vader was so badly destroyed that she probably made a more powerful apprentice right.
in terms of killing ability darth nihilus is in a league of his own, as potenitally the exile would have been too
as for lightsaber combat it is said the ancient sith lord tulak hord was the best
but it isnt all about who could best who in combat...many could be the best in terms of instigating the biggest events yet not the best in terms of physical and force abilities, for instance darth traya once held the galaxy by its throat yet she was easily overpowered by her apprentices in combat
Actually, all Jedi and Sith around and during the Time period of the Movies are a LOT weaker than their ancient predecessors. Both Jedi and Sith have "degraded" in power from their ancient times. Even the best and the brightest of that age couldn't really stand up against the ancient ones. But that has little to do with this vid, which is great btw :)
What tosh, tosh and rot. Where on earth have you got this from? Name me a Jedi that was better than Yoda. Name me a sith that was greater than Palpatine or even Caedus.
i totally agree theres no jedi better than yoda that is a fact but sith greater than palpatine and caedus...uhmmmm where do i start, darth revan, nihilus, marka regnus, even starkiller,he uses the force in ways no sith had ever use it before, vader made this guy so poweful it was like he was invincible..this is how powerful luke could have become had he accept vader's offer to learn the ways of the darkside of the force....
to say caedus was greater than starkiller is just play crazy, come on fallas.
We don't really know how powerful Revan was, certainly an extremely powerful sith but who knows, same with starkiller, it's stupid to put characters from games' in debates about the strongest as they are designed to be overpowered. Also, starkiller is not a sith and never was one. Caedus was extremely powerful. He has Skywalker blood in him, the most force sensitive family ever. Remind you that the dark side is not more powerful, Luke could still become the greatest force user that's ever lived
first let me tell you i never play the game(force unleashed) but i did read the book and you seems to forget that jacen aka darth caedus is also a character from a book so whats your point..And second you said starkiller wasn't a sith then what was he,he was train in the ways of the darkside just vader and the rest so whats your point there. And third are you saying caedus was more powerful than plagueis &nihilus(the guy was living presence of the darkside)come on Jericho,,you should know better.
Well, Sith aren't simply dark side force users. To be a member of the Sith Order you must be either the master or apprentice (assuming you live within Bane's sith order era) which he isn't. He's like Ventress or something, better described as a Dark Jedi or Dark Acoylte. I'm just saying Caedus was very strong. Different force users have different talents. Who can say what's better than what? I'd say that being controlled by your hunger is a weakness, a major one at that.
okay first i don't know if you read the book or play the game but vader did name him as his apprentice so i guess that makes him a member of the sith order, ventress was a darkjedi and starkiller wasn't at all.And second it seems to me you know very little about the term Sith,if you google it or go any where in the internet,it simply say the sith are dark side of the force user period,i totally disagree with jacen when he said the force have no side that its people that can be good and bad......
I've played the game. Just being trained by a Sith does not make you a sith. Sidious trained Vergere but never considered her as his Sith apprentice, just someone he trained in the dark side. Similar thing with Mara, never a sith. As Dooku pointed out to Ventress, being a user of the dark side does not make you a sith.
the point im trying to make here the master have to name you as his apprentice, thats what i've been trying to tell you, vader name starkiller as his apprentice, and for the record Vergere was a sith, the jedi knew that sometime after she left the lightside, and as for Mara, she serve under sidious, she wasn't trained but she did know he was a sith..
.Darth Vader was THE contemporary Sith apprentice, owing to the Rule of Two. Vader granted him apprenticeship, but the logistics of Bane's Rule of Two point to him never truly reaching Sith status. Thus to become a Sith (master or apprentice), Galen would have had to kill either Vader or Sidious. He was more of an assassin; though trained heavily in the Dark side of the Force, I don't recall evidence of him learning any Sith specific discipline, aside from being the exploit of Sith agenda.
correction my friend, you have that the third sentence all wrong,to become a dark lord of the sith the apprentice have to kill his or her master, not to become an apprentice you have to kill the master...And since you mention evidence,do you recall any evidence on vader, krayt and his sith officers, nihilus, sion and others receive any sith discipline, the only apprentice who have evidence on receive true specific discipline in the sith art was darth revan, darth bane and his apprentice zannah.
Going off the evidence that is around there is nothing that makes him anything more than a dark side using apprentice of Vader. The word Sith is never used. Find me any peice of evidence to the contrary and i'll gladly admit that i'm wrong. Apprentice and Sith apprentice are different things.
caedus was only a sith for very short time,he was only 31 when jaina killed him,he could have become a very strong and powerful sith for years to come if hadn't die so early...
What about Starkiller (Darth Vader's apprentice), and Luke Skywalker? Also, the measure of someone's force "power" is mainly subjective. The only objective means to measure it would be midi-chlorians, and that would make Anakin the most powerful.
you right Anakin did have the highest midi-chlorian than any other jedi,if he had stay a jedi,he could have become invincible and also without the suit to keep him alive he could have become an extremely powerful sithlord(even more powerful than sidious),look how easy it was for starkiller to defeat him in"force unleash"..
"Luke Skywalker was one of, if not the, most powerful Jedi to ever exist, as he demonstrated powers and abilities that sometimes surpassed even Grand Master Yoda"
explain to me basicly how did yoda lost to Palpatine, when everybody knows the whole fight was a draw...
and yoda would(no doubt)defeat sidious if the fight would have continue, also sidious knew he couldn't defeat yoda, thats why he was try to run away from him at the beginnig of the fight.
i remember reading that yoda had to end the fight as he was getting weaker and palpatine was getting stronger due to the purge so i would say no yoda wouldnt have won had it continued
Starkiller was not the most powerful Sith but up there only bad thing he wasnt a true sith as only a Sith Master can give a name to there apprentices as starkiller had a name by Darth Vadar
are you kidding, starkiller was like an evil luke skywalker, this how powerful luke could have been if he had take vader's hand(in the Empire strike back) and learn to use the darkside,he'd be just unstoppable as starkiller...
True, true, Jacen is definitely not the most powerful Sith, but I don't think Vader was either. The reason why he wouldn't be is because he was mostly machine. (not that it matters; I just thought I'd give my opinion) :)
But why do you think they are stronger, what did they accomplish that Sidious did not? I mean Sidious was the only one that could create wormholes and he could control the minds of armies across the entire galaxy.
Well, Ragnos was a stronger and a better duelist, and Revan mastered both the light and dark side. But to be quite honest, I didnt know much about sidious, so I did a little reading last night....
After the new information I have read, I must concede to your argument. Sidous was probably the most powerful Sith Lord...
im not a fan of sidious,i think he's a coward meanly because the way choose he become a sithlord, but killing your master in his sleep is a coward way to take his mantle,i thought he should have challenge plaguies in a fight, defeats him and take his title as darklord of the sith but tell me this,,how many sith do you know was powerful enough to suck the life out of an entire planet.could sidious do that NO,nihilus was the only 1 who could do that.
Thats how the Sith are, Sidious did anything to achieve more power.
Dont forget that he also fought four Jedi masters at once and killed three of them in seconds and only feigned defeat against Windu. After that he fought Yoda to a draw.
im not a jedi fan.i think they should be wipe out of starwar universe for thinking they can police the galaxy, the jedi are like us(american)..
but you do know if that duel sidious vs yoda would have continue on,yoda would have sidious defeated,at the beginning sidious tried to run away from him.
Every starwar fan know ain't no sith(past, present or future)could stand against yoda in a duel...
take him down,in his dream,,nihilus light saber skillz was garbage(thats why he was easily defeated by the jedi exile),therfore he couldn't stand against a powerful jedi like yoda...
if thats the case then why didn't he drain darth traya because he can only drain somebody whose weak in the force jedi or sith..and yoda was the strongest and powerful jedi ever..
For the last time, YODA IS NOT THE STRONGEST JEDI EVER!!! CITE SOURCES OR STFU!!! AND LUCAS NEVER CLAIMED YODA WAS THE MOST POWERFUL MASTER!! YOU MADE THAT SHIT UP!!!! And learn how to edit ur posts dude, no offense but between your spelling and grammar I can't accurately decipher what your trying to say. No offense. Are you Foreign by chance?
it is a fact that lucas along with his starwars co-producer did said in a interview after they finished shooting"the return of the jedi" that yoda was the most powerful who have ever live(which why they called him the great grand jedi master)
everything i wrote on here are back by fact,i don't write anything on here without doing some reseach first, which is what you need to do before you can reply to what i wrote.. alright...
hate to randomly join in but u fanboys take this shit really seriously dont u lol i gotta say that as feckin uber as yoda was he most certainly was not the strongest hell wot about starkiller?
okay Gonzo since you wanna join our arguement, you name a jedi who was more powerful than yoda...
for me starkiller was a evil version of luke skywalker, this how powerful luke could have become had he taking vader hands(in the episode V) and learn to use the darkside
starkiller by far the best sith apprentice ever and his force power and saber skillz was unstoppable,he was nearly invincible(by my opinion)
surely though he can no longer be considered a sith considerin he turned on the ways of the sith an i wouldnt even say that starkiller was ever evil as such but luke was a pussy this i am sure of god i wish lucas hadn't killed star killerbut him aside im not entirely sure, true that in the movies there r none stronger but ill luk an see in the sw mythos cus given how much stronger the sith of old were surely there had to be a jedi as equally strong so ill get bac to u Darth maul kiks ass :)
The dark side is "Quicker, Easier, More seductive. But not stronger" Luke is at his full potential, it just took him a little longer to get there. He doesn't have the greatest skills, or know the most skills, but in terms of raw force power he is most certainly the most powerful Jedi to ever live.
when i think about it, you're right. Starkiller does represent what Luke would have become had he killed Vader. also, in the force unleashed game, if you take the evil path in the last level, it gives you a glimpse of what would probably happen if someone defeated vader and took his place.
Luke wouldn't have to kill vader to cross to the darkside, all he had to do is accept vader offer by being his apprentice(like starkiller) and learn to use the darkside then he would become just as powerful as starkiller..
Oh that was said by Lucas in an interview and your not making it up? I'm sure you won't mind citing the source then. What interview was this, when and where did it take place, and im sure it's on the internet somewhere so you won't mind posting the link then. If you do these things and give direct proof I'll concede the argument, but every real star wars fan I know that has read all the books and seen the films knows that Grand Master Luke Skywalker is the most powerful Jedi to ever live.
you know Slayer, you're the only SW fan i know(probably on earth) who believe yoda isn't the most powerful jedi ever,,and as for the interview,i got better things to do with my time so im not gonna beat my self up to prove my point since my point has been made again and again in our several conversation,so it is obvious that you are totally blind from the facts so you going to have to look for it yourself, that interview does exist and its on the internet somewhere..im just gonna live it there.
...But you see, your point hasnt been made again and again. Why? Because you cite no evidence. You Just post your thoughts on a subject without any backing or substance. Furthermore these thoughts you post show that you clearly have not read very many Novels of the expanded universe, or the comics Whereas my arguments are backed by evidence, which is why I have deflected all of your arguments. as for you having better things to do with your time, you clearly don't based on the amount you post.
Read the book. Sidious was far more powerful in the force than master Windu, but was beaten by Vapaad. There were very few jedi in all of history that could have even matched Windu in lightsaber combat. even Yoda and Kenobi were pretty iffy on that front. Palps was bad but no match for windu in a saber fight. He didn't feign defeat he was beat legit.
Actually Anakin didn't have the most Midi-Chlorian count. Thus far Luke has. Midi-Chlorians are weird with Jedi, they usually get stronger or balance out, and sometimes in rare cases the children of force sensitive have none at all. This is one of the reasons Jedi were forbidden to procreate. Lucas has actually stated Luke has a higher Midi-Chlorian count than Anakin, unlike the liar before that actually happened. Look to Star wars insider. I have to believe Jacen had a higher one as well.
And let not forget people, during the whole caedus and his G.A reign of terror through the galaxy,
darth krayt was there in korriban watching the whole thing unfold, gathering his army cause he know they way caedus reign was coming to an end soon, caedus had no idea cause the dark energy in korriban shield the whole planet from the rest of the galaxy keeping caedus and the jedi from knowing about him,the only one who knew about krayt was lumiya,he did offer her to join his order, she turn it down..
2:29 is from a scene in the final book of the NJO series when Jacen fought Onimi. I can't remember the details fully but Jacen was able to make a very strong connection with the Force and I believe was able to kill Onimi by turning his own molecular structure against him. Jaina was also captured before hand and is displayed in the background of that pic as well.
Caedus turned back into Jacen to save his daughter by sacrificing himself to his sister. That could be conscribed as an act of a Sith. Like his grandfather before him, he did what he had to too save his child. In fact we know that he turned back into the light. Jaina felt it in the force just as her light saber kill Jacen, that is what hurt her the most and will probably haunt her for the rest of her Jedi days. So, Jaina didnt kill Darth Caedus the sith lord she killed Jacen Solo her brother.
I Disagree. Jaina did what she had to do. Jacen only did that in the face of his own death. I think that Caedus was what he had always been. Caedus but Jacen as well.
brill vid n beautiful song to go with it. its truly tragic remember when leia told han she didn want kids cus she didn want 1 of them to grow up to become darth vader? i tink he gave up so much for his hope of galactic unity.

I haven't read any of the new FOTJ series. I'm waiting until all the books come out first. I had read a spoiler that we find out what happens to Callista though. That's a plus!! Excellent song for this vid btw. Suits this perfectly....
meridgey 10 months ago
It's very hard with the way the whole series is turning, isn't it. You read and grow to love the kids as a new addition to Star Wars and then they start killing them off. I so hated it when Anakin Skywalker died. It was bad enough in the series to have Chewy die off in the first novel of TNJO series. I loved that kid over the whole 3. I loved that Jacen had turned as it became more interesting, then to have him die off as well was a bit sad.
meridgey 10 months ago
Please, could you tell me in which books could I find the fall of Jacen Solo (that this video describes)???
XLatinGioX 11 months ago
@XLatinGioX The majority of it is in Legacy of the Force. I think it starts more around 'Dark Journey' in the New Jedi Order series, though I'd recommend starting from the beginning on that series to get the full affect. If you don't want to mess with NJO. I'd at least read the last book of NJO, the Dark Nest Trilogy, and then LotF.
RandomCountryGirl 11 months ago
@XLatinGioX Thanks for the information, i will try to find at least LOTF, however, good job for the video!

the main reason Jacen fell was because he was a good person caught up in times of warfare, suffering, and despair.

@GangsterFish78 Anakin was never the chosen one . . . if he was the chosen one he would have ended all wars

I'd just be happy with a Star Wars novel that didn't end in some depressing manner, for a change.
treyc84812 1 year ago
Does anybody else miss Jacen? Not the piece of crap he became, but the deep, philosophical Jacen who used to argue with Anakin? I still miss him from the series and no, people don't blame Jaina for Jacen's fall. It was own insecurities and fear that drove him to fall. Also his cockiness had alot to do with it as well. He made the same mistakes as his grandfather. I do hate how depressing they are making the series. Currently reading Allies and Jag and Jaina just broke off the engagement. Sad...
treyc84812 1 year ago 4
@treyc84812 Yes, I miss the old philosophical Jacen for sure. I'm not even buying the FotJ books, I think they are missing something, characters like Jacen perhaps? I've been borrowing them from the library. Haven't read Allies yet. I'm not a fan of Jag sooo I'm not too depressed over that news, lol. I'm sure they still end up together at some point though. I'm glad I'm not the only one who misses Jacen.
SwordoftheJedi 1 year ago 2
@SwordoftheJedi I'd have to agree. He was my favorite character in the YJK series, and even then, one could see that he had greatness inside him. Before the LOTF series, he arguably pushed the scope of Force theory farther than they had ever been pushed - and I'm sad to say that I think the era of creating "bigger ideas about the Force," as Jacen himself so aptly put it, died with him.

I'll be on the next book after they confronted Abeloth.. the one with Han on the cover.

just a comment here.

What sucked about Jacen dying at the end of the series is that he never had a chance to really prove himself as a Sith. As far as being a Dark Lord, he wasn't all that good.
Sanguiluna 2 years ago 7
he knew that to bring peace to the galaxy there had to be one more war, because the galaxy will never be at peace unless it is all brought under one ruler
urukhai397 2 years ago
"Peace is a lie. There is only passion."
That's why Jacen Solo failed as a Sith: because he went against one of the fundamental tenets of the Sith philosophy. A real Sith sees conflict as a means of self-improvement, not a pathway to peace.
Sanguiluna 2 years ago 13
@Sanguiluna Got to agree there mate ask Lord Bane

stskelly 1 year ago
mmm he ALMOST won. I gotta say all in all if you read everything he did he was a pretty good sith honestly.
SlayerBus 2 years ago
@Sanguiluna you cant say that he wasnt good because the series really only focuses on his battle with Luke (the freakin grand master so tahts not really fair) and Jaina (whos destiny it was to kill him)... evey1 else he fought, he kicked their ass i.e the Jedi strike team that ambushed him on Coruscant
CelestialFocus123 10 months ago
@CelestialFocus123 I don't have any issue with his power or ability. I know he was an extremely powerful Force user; he was just a really crappy Sith Lord. I mean, everything he did he did for the common good. WHAT SELF-RESPECTING SITH LORD FIGHTS FOR THE "COMMON F**KING GOOD"?!
Sanguiluna 10 months ago
@Sanguiluna does anyone ever see them selves as evil? did palpatine? No, listen to the words as you say them: "Once more, the Sith shall rule the galaxy and we shall have peace". Does that sound evil? It is, but it doesn't sound that way. Everyone thinks they are the good guy, they really do, even the Sith. It's just sad that Jacen failed as a Sith, just like his grandfather. any self respecting sith does not turn back to the light as they die. At least that is my opinion.
Fallerup 9 months ago
@Fallerup Do you REALLY think Palpatine was being sincere when he was talking to Anakin about peace? He needed some way to convince Anakin to stay on his side, so he played the peace card. "Peace is a lie; there is only passion." No self-respective Sith ever pursues peace, and Sidious knew that. He was a master liar and puppeteer, just like every good Sith should be.
Sanguiluna 9 months ago
@Sanguiluna perhaps not... but that's beside the point. my point is that they don't consider themselves evil. Anakin at least didn't, he considered the Jedi to be evil, because they were the enemy. Perhaps some Sith consider themselves evil, but Anakin didn't.
Fallerup 9 months ago
@Fallerup The Sith don't believe in good or evil; they believe in power. To them, morality is an illusion, and that the only law in the universe is that the strong rule and the weak serve. The Sith don't see themselves as evil, but they don't see themselves as good either, and they don't see the Jedi as evil, unless they're trying to turn someone to the dark side, then they'll talk about how evil the Jedi are to try to convince him to join.
Sanguiluna 9 months ago
Next to Galen Marek Traviss was the worst thing to happen to star wars, and not really even because she killed Mara.
SlayerBus 2 years ago
i just realized again that JAINA caused JACEN to FALL know i know why you says shes so winy. you hate what she did. in my opinion jacen became a jerk in swarm war and LOTF kriff Karen Traviss for killing Mara. though who wanted jacen's to fall was it Aaron? Why don't you blame him? not JAYA. I hate how you just bite off her. Personally if any SOLO-Skywalker had to fall I want KILL Leia she Lost like 5 Lightsabers. isn't that bad dodo sor something? And don't you think of Zekk falling again.
Jayasolo2 2 years ago
Is this comment suppose to be to someone in particular? I for one do not blame Jaina. I do blame the authors for the direction the Star Wars books have gone. For me, when they killed off Jacen and now have disrespected Zekk, they also killed off my interest in the books. I read 'Outcast', but it just wasn't the same. That's how I feel about it, I'm sure others feel otherwise and I'm okay with that. If I knew it would go somewhere I'd take the time to write the series differently myself.
SwordoftheJedi 2 years ago
Zekk is coming back in FOTJ in Allies I think, Two: Kriff del ray
3: Troy denning is not to be blamed for killing jacen he did it cause NO others would.
Blame Aaron ALSTON! he wrote Jaina gave jacen the tassels so she made him sith.
4: I was gonna post a bunch of stuff by yt won't let me it was WAY over 500 words.
Jayasolo2 2 years ago
The writers, from what I have come to understand, made the decision of what was going to happen in the series as a group. Traviss came up with the idea to kill off Mara, she took the blame for that. But who made the choice to turn Jacen is anyone's guess. I'm surprised Troy hasn't gotten more flack through the years considering he ended up being the one writing of both of the Solo brothers' deaths. He wrote it, doesn't mean he made the choice. There's no proof that Aaron made the choice either.
SwordoftheJedi 2 years ago 3
still he is the first author in each series so it seems that way.. but Karen may have chosen that mayhem too.. well since traviss quite we can blame her all we want to mandos destroyed by the awesomeness of dark nest.. (inside story of a picture i found on deviant art.)

From Where Jacen Solo Came?
FrancoHomePs3DragonZ 2 years ago
@Jayasolo2 Dont wqnt to argue mate, but jacen was drawn to the tassels and asked jaina if he could swap missions with her,He made himself Sith with some help from Vergere and Lumiya.
stskelly 1 year ago
@stskelly
if Luke never made Jaina and Zekk find the tassels, Jacen would have never felt the dark presence and asked to change so it is more or less Luke and Jaina's fault cause Jaina agreed.
Jayasolo2 1 year ago
@Jayasolo2 It was Jacen's destiny to become Sith. He did lose his mind as all Sith do, in trying to kill luke(the very thing he became Sith not to do because of a vision) but he also achieved his goal even as Jacen before he became Caedus in the end didn't he? He brought peace and a stronger alliance to the galaxy.

in terms of killing ability darth nihilus is in a league of his own, as potenitally the exile would have been too
as for lightsaber combat it is said the ancient sith lord tulak hord was the best
but it isnt all about who could best who in combat...many could be the best in terms of instigating the biggest events yet not the best in terms of physical and force abilities, for instance darth traya once held the galaxy by its throat yet she was easily overpowered by her apprentices in combat
hangingontoalosthope 2 years ago
Jaina "beating Jacen to a pulp" wouldn't keep him from ruining the galaxy. It was considered necessary to kill him.

JerichoJames 2 years ago
i totally agree theres no jedi better than yoda that is a fact but sith greater than palpatine and caedus...uhmmmm where do i start, darth revan, nihilus, marka regnus, even starkiller,he uses the force in ways no sith had ever use it before, vader made this guy so poweful it was like he was invincible..this is how powerful luke could have become had he accept vader's offer to learn the ways of the darkside of the force....
to say caedus was greater than starkiller is just play crazy, come on fallas.
rastafiyaaa 2 years ago
We don't really know how powerful Revan was, certainly an extremely powerful sith but who knows, same with starkiller, it's stupid to put characters from games' in debates about the strongest as they are designed to be overpowered. Also, starkiller is not a sith and never was one. Caedus was extremely powerful. He has Skywalker blood in him, the most force sensitive family ever. Remind you that the dark side is not more powerful, Luke could still become the greatest force user that's ever lived
JerichoJames 2 years ago
first let me tell you i never play the game(force unleashed) but i did read the book and you seems to forget that jacen aka darth caedus is also a character from a book so whats your point..And second you said starkiller wasn't a sith then what was he,he was train in the ways of the darkside just vader and the rest so whats your point there. And third are you saying caedus was more powerful than plagueis &nihilus(the guy was living presence of the darkside)come on Jericho,,you should know better.
rastafiyaaa 2 years ago
Well, Sith aren't simply dark side force users. To be a member of the Sith Order you must be either the master or apprentice (assuming you live within Bane's sith order era) which he isn't. He's like Ventress or something, better described as a Dark Jedi or Dark Acoylte. I'm just saying Caedus was very strong. Different force users have different talents. Who can say what's better than what? I'd say that being controlled by your hunger is a weakness, a major one at that.
JerichoJames 2 years ago
okay first i don't know if you read the book or play the game but vader did name him as his apprentice so i guess that makes him a member of the sith order, ventress was a darkjedi and starkiller wasn't at all.And second it seems to me you know very little about the term Sith,if you google it or go any where in the internet,it simply say the sith are dark side of the force user period,i totally disagree with jacen when he said the force have no side that its people that can be good and bad......
rastafiyaaa 2 years ago
I've played the game. Just being trained by a Sith does not make you a sith. Sidious trained Vergere but never considered her as his Sith apprentice, just someone he trained in the dark side. Similar thing with Mara, never a sith. As Dooku pointed out to Ventress, being a user of the dark side does not make you a sith.
JerichoJames 2 years ago
the point im trying to make here the master have to name you as his apprentice, thats what i've been trying to tell you, vader name starkiller as his apprentice, and for the record Vergere was a sith, the jedi knew that sometime after she left the lightside, and as for Mara, she serve under sidious, she wasn't trained but she did know he was a sith..
rastafiyaaa 2 years ago
.Darth Vader was THE contemporary Sith apprentice, owing to the Rule of Two.
JerichoJames 2 years ago
correction my friend, you have that the third sentence all wrong,to become a dark lord of the sith the apprentice have to kill his or her master, not to become an apprentice you have to kill the master...And since you mention evidence,do you recall any evidence on vader, krayt and his sith officers, nihilus, sion and others receive any sith discipline, the only apprentice who have evidence on receive true specific discipline in the sith art was darth revan, darth bane and his apprentice zannah.
rastafiyaaa 2 years ago
Going off the evidence that is around there is nothing that makes him anything more than a dark side using apprentice of Vader. The word Sith is never used. Find me any peice of evidence to the contrary and i'll gladly admit that i'm wrong. Apprentice and Sith apprentice are different things.
JerichoJames 2 years ago
What are you talking about?the word sith have been mention plenty of time....
okay a perfect proof,of my arguement,,Example, what was darth zannah? was she sith apprentice or like you mention just an APPRENTICE?

Sith because he said "I name you my SITH apprentice."

Good,you just make my point

What about Starkiller (Darth Vader's apprentice), and Luke Skywalker? Also, the measure of someone's force "power" is mainly subjective. The only objective means to measure it would be midi-chlorians, and that would make Anakin the most powerful.
nijhunter314 2 years ago
you right Anakin did have the highest midi-chlorian than any other jedi,if he had stay a jedi,he could have become invincible and also without the suit to keep him alive he could have become an extremely powerful sithlord(even more powerful than sidious),look how easy it was for starkiller to defeat him in"force unleash"..

True, true, Jacen is definitely not the most powerful Sith, but I don't think Vader was either. The reason why he wouldn't be is because he was mostly machine. (not that it matters; I just thought I'd give my opinion) :)
MrsJacenSolo 2 years ago
Darth Sidious was the most powerful Sith Lord of all time.
LordKoehler 2 years ago
Marko Ragnos and Revan would own Sidious anyday
ftpguy 2 years ago
I don´t think so, George Lucas himself stated Sidious was the most powerful, although Revan and ragnos are probably not very far behind.
LordKoehler 2 years ago
IMHO, I think Lucas is only saying that out of obligation (since he was DEF the most powerful Sith of all the movies)
But if you tally up all the history of the expanded star wars universe, Revan and Ragnos still best Sidous.
ftpguy 2 years ago
But why do you think they are stronger, what did they accomplish that Sidious did not? I mean Sidious was the only one that could create wormholes and he could control the minds of armies across the entire galaxy.
LordKoehler 2 years ago
Well, Ragnos was a stronger and a better duelist, and Revan mastered both the light and dark side. But to be quite honest, I didnt know much about sidious, so I did a little reading last night....
After the new information I have read, I must concede to your argument. Sidous was probably the most powerful Sith Lord...
Ragnos and Revan are still cooler though XD..
ftpguy 2 years ago
hey dude, don't to interrupt you guys arguement,,
im not a fan of sidious,i think he's a coward meanly because the way choose he become a sithlord, but killing your master in his sleep is a coward way to take his mantle,i thought he should have challenge plaguies in a fight, defeats him and take his title as darklord of the sith but tell me this,,how many sith do you know was powerful enough to suck the life out of an entire planet.could sidious do that NO,nihilus was the only 1 who could do that.
rastafiyaaa 2 years ago
Thats how the Sith are, Sidious did anything to achieve more power.
Dont forget that he also fought four Jedi masters at once and killed three of them in seconds and only feigned defeat against Windu. After that he fought Yoda to a draw.
LordKoehler 2 years ago
im not a jedi fan.i think they should be wipe out of starwar universe for thinking they can police the galaxy, the jedi are like us(american)..
but you do know if that duel sidious vs yoda would have continue on,yoda would have sidious defeated,at the beginning sidious tried to run away from him.
Every starwar fan know ain't no sith(past, present or future)could stand against yoda in a duel...
rastafiyaaa 2 years ago
You´re probably right but i think Sidious had stronger telekinetic powers.
LordKoehler 2 years ago
dude,no sith or jedi is more powerful than yoda in the force or saber skillz..
thats one of the reason he was able to live for 900 years, and that why he's been called the great, grand jedi master..
rastafiyaaa 2 years ago
Maybe you´re right, if so only Nihilus would be able to take him down.
LordKoehler 2 years ago
take him down,in his dream,,nihilus light saber skillz was garbage(thats why he was easily defeated by the jedi exile),therfore he couldn't stand against a powerful jedi like yoda...
rastafiyaaa 2 years ago
But he could drain Yodas life force, thats why only the jedi exile could defeat nihilus because she was a wound in the force aswell.
LordKoehler 2 years ago
if thats the case then why didn't he drain darth traya because he can only drain somebody whose weak in the force jedi or sith..and yoda was the strongest and powerful jedi ever..
rastafiyaaa 2 years ago
But how could he then be able to drain entire planets. I know its strange but i dont know how long it takes for him to drain/kill someone.
LordKoehler 2 years ago
dude,you ain't listenning
he can only drain somebody whose weak in the force, thats why he wasn't able to drain traya or sion...

SlayerBus 2 years ago
Born & raise in Miami my friend
and no i didn't make that shit up,,
it is a fact that lucas along with his starwars co-producer did said in a interview after they finished shooting"the return of the jedi" that yoda was the most powerful who have ever live(which why they called him the great grand jedi master)
everything i wrote on here are back by fact,i don't write anything on here without doing some reseach first, which is what you need to do before you can reply to what i wrote.. alright...
rastafiyaaa 2 years ago
I agree wih you Yoda was always the most powerful Jedi
Herour1234 2 years ago
hate to randomly join in but u fanboys take this shit really seriously dont u lol i gotta say that as feckin uber as yoda was he most certainly was not the strongest hell wot about starkiller?
brokengonzo 2 years ago
okay Gonzo since you wanna join our arguement, you name a jedi who was more powerful than yoda...
for me starkiller was a evil version of luke skywalker, this how powerful luke could have become had he taking vader hands(in the episode V) and learn to use the darkside
starkiller by far the best sith apprentice ever and his force power and saber skillz was unstoppable,he was nearly invincible(by my opinion)
rastafiyaaa 2 years ago
surely though he can no longer be considered a sith considerin he turned on the ways of the sith an i wouldnt even say that starkiller was ever evil as such but luke was a pussy this i am sure of god i wish lucas hadn't killed star killerbut him aside im not entirely sure, true that in the movies there r none stronger but ill luk an see in the sw mythos cus given how much stronger the sith of old were surely there had to be a jedi as equally strong so ill get bac to u Darth maul kiks ass :)
brokengonzo 2 years ago
The dark side is "Quicker, Easier, More seductive. But not stronger" Luke is at his full potential, it just took him a little longer to get there. He doesn't have the greatest skills, or know the most skills, but in terms of raw force power he is most certainly the most powerful Jedi to ever live.
SlayerBus 2 years ago
when i think about it, you're right. Starkiller does represent what Luke would have become had he killed Vader. also, in the force unleashed game, if you take the evil path in the last level, it gives you a glimpse of what would probably happen if someone defeated vader and took his place.
urukhai397 2 years ago
Luke wouldn't have to kill vader to cross to the darkside, all he had to do is accept vader offer by being his apprentice(like starkiller) and learn to use the darkside then he would become just as powerful as starkiller..
rastafiyaaa 2 years ago
Oh that was said by Lucas in an interview and your not making it up? I'm sure you won't mind citing the source then. What interview was this, when and where did it take place, and im sure it's on the internet somewhere so you won't mind posting the link then. If you do these things and give direct proof I'll concede the argument, but every real star wars fan I know that has read all the books and seen the films knows that Grand Master Luke Skywalker is the most powerful Jedi to ever live.
SlayerBus 2 years ago
you know Slayer, you're the only SW fan i know(probably on earth) who believe yoda isn't the most powerful jedi ever,,and as for the interview,i got better things to do with my time so im not gonna beat my self up to prove my point since my point has been made again and again in our several conversation,so it is obvious that you are totally blind from the facts so you going to have to look for it yourself, that interview does exist and its on the internet somewhere..im just gonna live it there.
rastafiyaaa 2 years ago
...But you see, your point hasnt been made again and again.

SlayerBus 2 years ago
actually i am of the opinion palpy thew the fight with windu to turn ani to the darkside

And let not forget people, during the whole caedus and his G.A reign of terror through the galaxy,
darth krayt was there in korriban watching the whole thing unfold, gathering his army cause he know they way caedus reign was coming to an end soon, caedus had no idea cause the dark energy in korriban shield the whole planet from the rest of the galaxy keeping caedus and the jedi from knowing about him,the only one who knew about krayt was lumiya,he did offer her to join his order, she turn it down..

what goin on at 2:29 ?
bigstevecw 2 years ago
2:29 is from a scene in the final book of the NJO series when Jacen fought Onimi. I can't remember the details fully but Jacen was able to make a very strong connection with the Force and I believe was able to kill Onimi by turning his own molecular structure against him. Jaina was also captured before hand and is displayed in the background of that pic as well.

kt27rule 2 years ago
whos the dumass who killed off jacen!! he was my favorite character in star wars every.
itaci784uchiha 2 years ago
Caedus turned back into Jacen to save his daughter by sacrificing himself to his sister. That could be conscribed as an act of a Sith. Like his grandfather before him, he did what he had to too save his child. In fact we know that he turned back into the light. Jaina felt it in the force just as her light saber kill Jacen, that is what hurt her the most and will probably haunt her for the rest of her Jedi days. So, Jaina didnt kill Darth Caedus the sith lord she killed Jacen Solo her brother.
BillTommy 2 years ago
