  • Dr. Andre Thomas... my favorite chocolate bar!

  • @Noelle678 omg he said the same thing to us during the AMIS festival last year!

  • CONGRATULATIONS! All I can say is this is perfect - I have had the pleasure of singing this as a bass and it brings me to tears to hear you perform this wonderful piece. Way to go BASSES! :) The only thing is that it's too bad we could not see the actual live performance of it and to see the expression from the singers. Thank You once again. And keep Singing!

  • I agree the phrasing could be more flexible on, but the sound and blend are wonderful. You get the sound of a much bigger choir.

  • we are singing this for our state peice:)

we only have about 40 people but make double the sound:)

  • This is beautiful! :)

  • Lovely...but a bit too up tempo for my taste. It seems very rushed leaving no time to cherish the beauty of this piece.

  • This is amazing!

  • OMG i just stumbled upon this...Dr. Thomas just conducted us up here in the MA All-State chorus 2010, he is amazing!!!!!!

  • I sang this piece in the Texas All-State Choir in 1979...

  • @prui106 nice that is so awesome! do you have a recording of it and if you do plz upload i wana hear what TX sounded back then

  • Awe, we're doing a different version in chorus now. :]

  • This was really good! I wished that we sounded this good.

  • after stupidly not reading the vid's description I realized I had answered my own question, sorry for doing that

BTW: Dr. Thomas is amazing, he was my all state conductor as well, we sang a lot of the same pieces you did. What did you think of Dr. T

  • I am going to go ahead and guess who the conductor was: was it Andre Thomas?

  • They only wanted the best of the best, that's why there are less students.

  • What state is this? Why are there so few singers for all-state? Not complaining-you sound terrific! Just most all-states have 300voices or more. Excellent!

  • There was about 300 voices in Minnesotas All-State but we were split in different choirs...The Mixed Choir, Mens Choir, and Women's choir.

  • Some states, like mine (Michigan), have a state-level choir where there are 3 groups (SATB, SSAA, TTBB), and from those, the singers are then filtered to make an All-State level where there are about 80-90 singers total.

  • beautiful sound for high schoolers. If you'd like to hear an exquisite performance of it check out Kings College singing it here on youtube.
