I don't think something is shit just because it appeals to the masses. It's the consequences of such appealing that are shit. Most artists (I say most, not all) start making music thanks to their love for art and music. However, when the masses shift attention towards them, the priorities change, and they start making music FOR the masses. While I still like Pendulum, I think they are trying too hard to please non d&B listeners, and that makes their music to fall in a not-so-good limbo.
