  • Is the Wrangler any good on road?

  • @jonajs98 Absolutely not, it is a Jeep. The Tiguan is definitely the better vehicle.

  • The jeep might be the oldest but the land rover is the best

  • Toyota Jeep any day of the week

  • Awesome vehicle. Meaning the Wrangler.

Would love to see a Rubicon vs FJ Cruiser battle.

  • OIIIIIIIO

  • Jeeps Rock!!

  • Jeep must be so stiff on the road. These comparasions are pointless

  • Fuck that VW tijuana, looks like a fucking golf. Preppy mobile, cannot even hold a candle to the jeep.

  • fucking retards, oh lets compare a VW tiguan to a JEEP and see who' s better off roader, and no one cross shops these two you dumb white retards

  • G-CLASS BENZE is such a stupid car dont even bring that up, over priced, dont get shit, you could get a land cruiser if you really wanted a real offroader and if you want luxery offroad idk why you would but if you did discovery is better n both about 25 percent cheaper

  • Ya JEEP 4 LIFE!!

  • i say this video is so stupid , these are two different vehicles.i have no idea what is the point to post this video.

  • This is So unfair !!!!!!! Here in Russia VW priced at 73000$ the Jeep is 68000$

    Fucking taxes!!!

  • i have a comment for those who complain about the jeep..........SHUT THE FUCK UP.....dont watch the video if u dont like the jeep ;)

  • @BOREDfromX2z Amen bro!

  • Should crash test them.

    See who walks away!

  • Jeep wrangler, better off road, can go where tiaguan cant... and also faster on road WTF hahahaha !!!

  • I'd compare Tiaguan with Jeep patriot unlimited trail rated or jeep compass

  • best offroad in the world? please get aquintance with Mr Land Rover and Mr G-Klass or say something to Mr Pajero.

How come we never heard about jeep on the Paris Dakkar competition? ohh it starts in europe, realy not anymore and we still did'n heard about you guys!!!

  • @pbrinzei That's funny because the Jeep was around and driving off-road way before the Paris Dakar, the Pajero, the Land Rover and of course the G Class...making it the oldest and many would say the best off-road brand/car in the world.

  • @romanmicagearguy Jeep exists since 1941,

speaking of 4x4 cars Porsche made a 4x4 car in 1900 (electric) and a 4x4 hybrid in 1902.

And Daimler had a 4x4 vehicle in 1907. Calling them on road or offroad is in the eye of the beholder that time there weren't many roads at all

Mitusbishi btw hat a 4x4 (1934) also before Jeep even existed.

It's far fetched too to call Jeep the best offroad car, the front axe of my friends wrangler broke while driving over a soft sand dune.

  • @romanmicagearguy edit: VW had offroad cars before Jeep aswell and in the year Jeep was founded and made it's first trys making cars, VW already had a 4x4 amphibious vehicle (Volkswagen Schwimmwagen).

  • @pbrinzei Search this "An Epic Adventure: The Australian Outback's" Seven G-Class trek across the outback. 5 out of 7 have shock failure, plus a long list of other broken parts. I've never heard of LR or G-Class in the Dakar either. Bowler doesn't count those aren't even on an LR chassis. Jeep let a fleet of new Wranglers loose on the Rubicon Trail driven by novice automotive journalists. I've seen some other SUVs make it down the trail but not stock and not driven by novices.

  • @pbrinzei The only place I see the LR and G Class is at the mall.

  • Never seen an MG shirt... I love the Jeep, unbeatable at their thing!!

  • Man I swear if I could afford a new wrangler I'd spend half my days telling people (and showing them) left and right how capable it is :P lol ....*looks at his '99 RWD Cherokee and sighs* >.> One day...

  • That Jeep is very capable. It's one of the few cars that will actually go further than most people actually would ever want to go.

  • what about the Toyota FJ Cruiser?

  • @mb013962 Roman and I love the Toyota FJ. Not only does it do extremely well off road, it’s a kick to live with and has a ton of personality. There are two things that hold it back when the going gets very rough: it’s terribly difficult to see out of and the FJ’s independent front suspension will not articulate like the Jeep’s solid axle. I’m not a fan of the overbearing traction control either. Still, as a Jeep Wrangler alternative, the Toyota FJ is a great bet. Thanks for watching!

  • Just trying to get my name out there. I post videos everyday containing news about cars. I post everything from Ford's new fusion to the first crash of a production LFA. Check it out if you're interested.

And, this was a really cool review. I'm shocked at how well the Wrangler did on road. Those acceleration times are awesome!

  • What trail is that??

  • I think TFL cars might be growing on me. I didn't like it at first but no one puts out this many HD car videos in English. Maybe autocar does but I've had it with them talking about sophistication and other British nonsense. So many interesting comparisons in German and Russian what’s up with that? Maybe its just that I like the new Jeep and TFL is the only show giving it any real attention.

  • I know you don't make them anymore, but can you mashup an Excursion and a 3 door Yaris? I bet you could come up with some funky ideas.

  • i know the jeep or ANY jeep is the best offroader is the best offroader in the world, a range rover or a 2nd Gen Touareg is

  • you guys should mashup fj cruiser with a kia sportage

  • There is no doubt that Jeep is a better off-roader. But, something that surprised me was the statement made by Roman that his choice to go off-road with Tiguan was using the sport mode. I believe he knows that the DSG gear box can be handled manually very well, since it is in fact a manual gear box...look at the + - sings on the right side of the letter "D".

  • @rkhrahmani Thanks for your thoughtful comments, but there's really no replacing a manual gearbox off-road. The Tiguan's gearbox, for instance, won't hold a gear but will upshift automatically when the revs get too high. In the dirt I want complete control of my gears.

  • good review. only thing is that you didnt need to bring that vw.

  • 2102 Jeep?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Check the description

  • OlllllllO

  • You say the Rubicon is less road worthy but what about the Sahara?

  • @fanfinmiami Yes, those big BFGs are a bit blocky for some people. The 4-door Unlimited would help some of the instability at highway speeds and smooth out the ride. The Sahara Unlimited comes with 18-inch wheels and more street friendly tires. Also, the suspension and underside are not as beefy as the Rubicon, so it stands to reason that the overall street feel will be a bit better on the Sahara. Thanks for watching!

  • @NathanDAdlen No problem, your reviews are spot on and fun to watch.

  • good color on that jeep I think some flat black wheels would look really nice on it :)

  • you forgot to stuff Nathan in the trunk........

    thats the best part,LOL.

  • @Roman or Nathan cool review, wish we could see more off roading / mudding views. Whats the name of the 0-60 app

  • The tiguan looks soo much like a toureg.

  • man is that Tiguan pedestrian looking. zero personality, but that is what sells in that segment.

  • Her Roman, or anybody that knows. What app do you use for the 0-60 tests?

  • I enjoyed that. I know these mash-ups are often of "almost non-comparable cars" (which I love), but it would be great if you ended the segment with which one of the two you would rather have (or buy) and why.

  • i just had a good dream of me having a 70 charger R/T i was sad after i woke up :( its a dreem damn it :/

  • Yup, you guys make great videos and quite frankly the chemistry between you two is quite remarkable. I would see you two replacing those three goofs on Top Gear USA...

P.S. I was expecting around 9 seconds for the Jeep and 7 for the Volks; that Pentastar sure as hell moves that brick, surprising to say the least.

  • Similar price? I'll take the Tiguan thanks.

  • Best off road vehicle in the world? Not quite, but best value in an off road vehicle. I think the LX and LC best it.

  • Yay JEEP! ^_^

  • Oops. Chrysler must be so grateful for their Pentistar V6

  • @gene978

Tell you what. Chrysler hit a home run with the Pentastar. I tested the engine with the Chrysler 200, it delivers smooth power.

  • My mouth is still wide open in shock at the Rubicons 0-60 time even at that altitude. The brick, the tires, the cargo haha. Chrysler must b

  • OIIIIIIIO For the win

  • Great vid as always! Keep on the great job!

  • Good reviews with interesting SUVs. I like that in the last few vids it seems like Roman and Nathan are actually friends. Just 2 guys talking and having fun with cars, not the "Roman show" where Nathan is just there for comedic "can he fit" effect.

You guys might actually be gelling into the best youtube auto reviewer show.

(Well second best. EVO youtube channel reviews Pagani Zondas'. No one can compete with that :) :) )

  • @Poler777 This is so true. I love TFL Car's laidback review style. It's less concerned with numbers and more concerned with how the cars feel and drive.

  • Nathan, does the Pentastar make this Wrangler better? I heard this makes it the best Jeep Wrangler ever.

  • @76carmel Absolutely. This Pentastar V6 is an outstanding engine with 260 lbs of torque. It makes 83 more horsepower than the old one. It’s lighter and it gets better gas mileage. For a vehicle you can buy right off the showroom floor – I have never tested a better off-roader. Great question. Thanks for watching!

  • @NathanDAdlen

And for the Tiguan, if its fully loaded (price around $39k), I tend to view this like a poor man's BMW X3. A better direct comparison (and tell Roman about it) would be the Acura RDX, price, features, and engine are similar.

  • @76carmel You’re absolutely right about the RDX vs. the Tiguan – but, on occasion, we like to tackle both ends of the spectrum. In this case: Roman’s Tiguan which stickered at $33,300 was very close in price to my Wrangler. So, we were curious as to how much car can you get for the cash. We will do some soft-roader/crossover comparisons in the future too. Thanks for watching!

  • Good show guys!

  • I love the Tiguan, but I don't think many buyers are going to use it offroad.

  • Did not like this at all.

  • Great video! So is the jeep refined enough to use on road? What about its build quality?

  • @sarokas12 It’s much better on the road than last year’s Rubicon. That has to do with the smoother engine, quitter interior and improved outward view (slightly larger rear and quarter glass). For day to day driving and commuting, I would recommend the 4-door Wrangler as it rides better and has useable backseat/cargo space. For off-road domination… this is the best available. Thanks for watching!

  • Lol first comment! Why is this so rewarding for people??
