Hey Denny, Do you compose for films at all? Because I'm an independent filmmaker who would really like to have some music like the kind you make in some of my films. I'm producing a short film that will need some music in the next couple months and if you're interested in doing an original score it would be awesome...It's low budget but there would be some money in it for you.
Ok, I have watched LOTR about a million times and litstened to the soundtrack that many more times. No doubt Howard Shore did an amazing job portraying the sound of the movie, however you have summed it into this one amazing composistion!! You are awesome.
Question, how did you do it? All on keyboard? Or do you have your own orchestra lol? I am amazed either way. I have been trying to figure out how to compose my own, but there is no way I'd even know where to start!
@coffeechick1989 Unfortunately: i don't have my own orchestra :-) The trick in this case is to use the EWQL orchestra libraries. These are soft-synth containing lots of good samples. I use the midi-output from my synth/keyboard to play and record those samples in midi-format. I use Cakewalk Sonar as a sequencer to record the midi and playback the EWQL SO samples.
Al je gecomponeerde soundtracks klinken buitengewoon professioneel! Met wat lobbyen bij de filmindustrie zie ik je zo aan een grote filmproductie meewerken.
man, U have a talent, that U shouldn't put aside...keep doing this, and i really hope that one day i can hear your music in on of the grat movies...u absolutely have the chance to make it....
Nooo! This is truly amazing my God! i am a amateur composer too and i can tell you that don't need to wish something from James Horner and so, you are too much talented Composer and artist!
Hey, thanks for your comment. It was not my intention to create 'a better score' than Howard Shore. I like all the original scores i try to 're-score' very much, including LOTR. But thanks anyway :-)
Holy Crap! Very very nice man, loving the composition - and how the hell did you make your strings sound so real??!! Mental! Keep at it man, very nice work ;)
could you try to make a pirates of the carribean one?
nice video by the way

I think more of a Pirates of the Caribbean sort of composition. But still brilliant none the less.

Outstanding work! I agree with thegaurdian050. It does have a Hanz Zimmer sound quality to it.

sounds great but too close to the narnia soundtrack (the battle). Probably not intentional.

In some ways better than Shore's original score, in my opinion...

Denny, you wrote back last and said you used the quantum leap symphonic. Did you use the silver, gold, or platnum? Thanks again. Dave

May I ask what software you use, and do you use specialist orchestral plug-ins?
loki1200 3 years ago
Thanks for your comment.
I used Sonar as a sequencer, and EWQL SO Gold for most of the orchestra sounds. The begin of the video describes all the gear i used for this track.

Denny
