Gaza economic growth is tramendous. The ship could have borded ashdod or egypt so the containers (Which held no humanitarin aid) would be checked first to see if there are any rockets. They broke the blockade so the israelis borded the ship and were attacked.

@mickoholland Israel took action to stop the Flotilla because these vessels had a stated, written and oral, intention of breaking Israel (and Egypt's) LEGAL blockade at sea. A blockade which is in existence as a result of continued smuggling of weapons into Gaza via the sea. Both Israel and Egypt made clear offers to dock all the vessels and process the humanitarian aid via official channels. These offers were DECLINED by the captains of the vessels.

Israel is AT WAR with Hamas-run Gaza not because it wants to be but because Israel has attacks on it’s citizens on a regular basis. only 2 minutes after the first soldier landed, was stabbed and critically wounded (by that time there were at least 3 wounded, 2 critically), the soldiers decided to use their sidearms.

@mickoholland Israel took action to stop the Flotilla because these vessels had a stated, written and oral, intention of breaking Israel (and Egypt's) LEGAL blockade at sea. A blockade which is in existence as a result of continued smuggling of weapons into Gaza via the sea. Both Israel and Egypt made clear offers to dock all the vessels and process the humanitarian aid via official channels. These offers were DECLINED by the captains of the vessels.

Oh and also because Hamas, who runs Gaza, has a stated aim of destroying the state of Israel.

IHH head Bulent Yildirim gloated that this would be seen as "a declaration of war" against all the countries which supplied the flotilla's passengers, which is why so many foreigners were on board, having been recruited from Australia, Britain, the US and many other countries that IHH and its allies hoped could be turned into enemies of Israel.

The blockade saves Israeli lives from arabs who are trying to do ILLEGAL things like murder inoccents. By the way, they're not starving. Have you even seen or heard of starvation to death at Gaza? Has anyone in Gaza even died of starvation? No, because Israel delivers many trucks everyday to Gaza, with food and drugs. But Hammas steals it all so you can blame them for the "starvation"!

@Allstar1A The blockade is illegal and inhumane.
Any ship can travel into Gaza with the permission of the government in Gaza. No other nation has a legal right to intervene.

@Allstar1A it is not up to Israel to "allow" goods into Palestine. The blockade is illegal and inhumane, that's what the UN says. That's what the entire international community says apart from Israel, US and Micronesia.
If the Gazans do not like the way that Hamas govern them, they can elect a different government. That is how democracy works. But you don't like democracy in Arab countries unless it results in the election of puppet governments.

@elbombardi That is so not true. My friend is a Palestinian Arab (now a believer in Yeshua) and she went there to see for herself. They are not starving or in need of anuthing. She still has family there.
