man i wish i could go back in time.. back to when i was 5 and this was my fav game and life was at its best and everything seemed magical and there was no stress. i barely remember anything of this game and of those times but they were the best of my life :) those sounds of killing the skeletons and opening the doors just makes me miss the old days

Gharbad the weak is on level 4 somewhere on there, you will find him somewhere waiting that is if you didn't already get Snotspill and go to level 5, King Leoric can take physical damage, if you Rogue has Holy Bolt, he is much easier to kill that way.

@retx101 Yep, i agree. If u havent heard the music in D3, it also is very much akin to Diablo 1, instead of Diablo 2. I heard the music to whatever the first town is in D3 on someones livestream today and was totally reminded of Diablo 1 tristram.

@IRawryourcookies I think the trend began with Diablo 2, actually, which was rather simplified (and mood-lightened) in comparation with Diablo 1. It was still good, though, and it had no annoying DRM (which is far more than one can say of Diablo 3). Still, I'd like a back to the roguelike roots diablo-esque game :(

@0:48 "27 gold pieces" You would have had to kill over 200 of these skeletons at their level to get 5800 gold. And that is ONLY if they drop that much each time- not the case, as we see 17 gold @1:19

Averaged out just between those figures and you're looking at killing over 260 skeletons on Leoric's level- and that's only if each and every skeleton drops an averaged amount of gold, if any gold at all.

In reality, you'd probably have to kill a thousand of these skeletons.

Tip - Let Leoric spawn minions to kill until you get bored. This will give you extra experience / levels and sometimes good loot / money.

great thing was that a sorc could grab holy bolt very early and get Leoric done in seconds, come to think of it ... sorc with fireball and lightning later on killed everything in secs ... by far the best char in original D1 in my opinion

This game is still awesome, no matter how old it is.. Just the feeling you get from the music and the scenery is unmatched.

And haha, the first time I long ago killed Leoric, I broke the crucifix things and got the curse on me, and thought the game had a bug or something. Since I had saved after beating him without knowing about this curse, I had to restart the game. >_< - I miss the days of TRUE Game Overs. Gave you something to stay alive for.

Sword and Shield I find the best weapon, BTW.
