I had one at 14 after a long trip, which can cause them. I had drains placed, got very sick and they just did a Z-plasty, so I lost have my crack in my butt, but also never had to go through what this guy is going through.
my son had one and he had surgery and antibotics a few times. its gone, but i was a real bad one. Dr said came from sitting on the bus seat edge with knees up on next seat a real common position to sit on a school bus. he is cured!
@PiloGuy82 how long did you have it before you had surgery on it? ive honestly had mine for a few years but i done have health insurance to cover it. its not as big as yours and i dont have pain, just some discomfort sometimes, but its not something i would want to have forever
I have a question, I am getting surgery to remove mine in two weeks. A few weeks after that I'm going to a concert with my girlfriend. Will it be healed enough by then to drive 2 hrs round trip AND sit through the show? I paid a lot of money for the show and don't want to be miserable through it. Thanks a lot
I think I might have this. But you couldn't tell just by looking at it. And it doesn't bother me at all. It doesn't hurt to sit down or even touch it. What should I do?
The American Institute Of Advanced Medicine can help! They have over 25 years experience and over 90% success rate for a varity for skin disorders including cystic acne check out theaiam.com their protocols really work!!
Their medication is FDA approved with no side effects! ** Not a scam!
I have a question and this is a serious question. I dont mean to offend. Also, anyone who has anything bad to say about it I DONT CARE! My question is this: Could this be latent body part that now only shows up in certain people and only malfunctions even then. Such as would happen in an evolving species? Something along the line of the appendix, everyone still gets one, they dont do anything, we dont need them and we can live without them just fine thank you. COULD this be our left over tails?!
i have this type of cyst since i was 14,,it started to bleed and didnt know why until i saw a proctologist,,he then stuck something in it and took out a bunch of ingrown hairs that has caused this to be infected and i toll some medication..i am now 34 years old and i havent had this surgery yet because i havent had the problems i use to have. but only god knows when this issue happens again.
i Know this is extremely inappropriate and i will not be laughing on Friday when they do this to me but you have a a vagina on your back man lol. I will too
I had this years ago in college. I never felt so much pain in my life (until giving birth) when I had to have my mother change the bandages. I didn't soak it long enough so when she pulled at it I screamed like a person in a horror movie.
You'll feeltons better once that cyst is outta you. Yah, it'll hurt, but the trickis to take sitz baths (sit in really hot water) 'cuz that helps heal the area. I have a few guy friends thathave had these, and they healed up really great. Just keep it clean after the surgery. Good Luck.
God i am freaked the fuck out now. I have this and I thought all they had to do was drain the god damn thing and get the hair thts built up in it. Now im panicing i got a doctors appointment tom for it cause i have had it for like 3-4 months and now its hurts reeeally bad. Jesus CHRIST!!!!
The surgery is a must with this cyst!!!! I know it does not get any smaller i let it go for 2 years and it was a pain thats for sure!!! Very happy to have gotten rid of that damm thing... Every get 1 get ir removed as soon as u can!!!!
I had a pilonidal cyst and ignore it for 3 years, had it drained about 3 times, the best choice you can make it's to have it remove, you will feel so much better, even tho the recovery time is expected to be 3 to 5 weeks but the longer you wait the bigger it gets. And I don't know but I use to feel really tired before, I guess it was my immune system fighting the bacteria, after surgery I feel with a lot of energy. THE SURGERY IT'S SO MUCH WORTH IT.
There was a point in dealing with this that it hurt to sit down (prior to surgery). I also had a lot of trouble walking. In that perspective, it was worth having it. Who knows how much worse things would have gotten had I ignored the problem. So I guess all in all I would say it was worth it for me.
I see your wife is wearing gloves in this one. Throughout my 5 or so years of experience with MRSA, you can never be too safe to avoid introducing new bacteria into your wound or spread bacteria from your body or any tools, cleaning supplies, and any other item that comes into contact with the area around the wound. I always used a separate bag for these items (that were disposable) so I could tie it off and immediately dispose of it in the outside can.
Okay i have a pilonidal abcess and i got it drained but it reappeared .. im thinking of getting it surgically excised next week .. how long will my movement be restricted ... cuz i have an office job where i sit all day .. and i drive a lot as well ... .. how painful is it after surgery til i heal .. cuz its pretty painful otherwise ..
I really didn't have any restrictions with movement. It was a little challenging for me to use the restroom for the 1st 3-4 days, but other than that, I was able to walk and move around just fine. My pain was pretty bad for about the 1st week (especially with dressing changes), but after 1 week, I began to feel incredibly better. I am a student and am also involved with research projects, so I do a fair share of sitting as well. You might want to look at a tush cush. It helped me a lot.
I probably ignored it for way too long. Probably about a year. I remember going to my family doctor and he told me that as long as it didn't interfere with my life too bad, then not to worry about it. It eventually got really bad. Have you fully recovered yet?
Sorry to hear that you are having to deal with this. The bad thing is that I've yet to heal. Just two days ago I had to have the bottom part of my wound re-opened due to it closing prematurely. I have had 3 surgeries thus far since April of 2007. I am about to see a wound care center. Although most of the wound has healed fine, there is one small area that we need to finish closing.
I've heard that some people can completely heal in about 8-12 weeks. Everyone is different though. Good luck.
Oh.. that`s terrible.. I had this 2 months ago and it`s still open, but I think that every case it`s different, I don`t know why but my hole wasn`t to big as yours. Before surgery was really terrible! I couldn`t walk or sit down because was really painful! Now I`m getting better thanks god, it`s still open. Bad to here from you that u had 3 surgeries! Why? was still infected? But I just afraid that my wound can get infected.
The problem I had was that the wound would heal prematurely. There was never an issue of infection. My wife helped with all the packing. Good luck with healing. Sorry for my late response.
WOW, Sorry you havent healed yet! I just saw my home help nurse today and she says its doing fine. I know a lot of ppl who have had to go back into surgery because of this. But it is hard to deal with. Well I hope you feel better and heal up soon. Keep me updated on how its going. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago friday! Have a good Day
I am getting a wound vac next Wednesday. Home health will also be helping me for a short while until my wife can get familar with the wound vac. The wound care physician and nurse both said that the wound looked great, but needed some help healing from the inside out. Most of the wound has healed, it's just a small part of the bottom (similar to what the wound looks like in my week 11 video.
hi, I wrote to you a few days ago. I'd like to know if it's normal that after 2 weeks that I had my surgery, I still make the gauze get wet after 5 hours that I changed them. It's just a little bit, and in a pink color. Thank you so much and recover soon. Walter from Argentina.
I would say that it is pretty normal. My dressings still get a little wet (and it is mostly pink, although sometimes there is a small amount of blood) even after 5 weeks of having the surgery. I usually cover the gauze with an ABD pad to prevent my clothing from getting ruined. I'm at the point now to where I don't need the ABD pad because the drainage is becoming less. In your situation, I wouldn't be concerned. Sounds normal so far! Good luck with your recovery!
I'd definitely suggest going to see your doctor about it. The pain can get extremely bad. At one point, before surgery, I could barely walk.
There are several options available to treat this condition. However, surgeons are different, so just talk to them to see what is available to you. They can stitch it up, but I didn't want that because I had read of higher recurrence rates. The cleft lift is an off-midline wound that gets stitched up. People absolutely love it.
I won't lie...the first week was pretty painful. However, it seemed like just after 1 week things took a sharp turn for the better. I did take plenty of pain meds in the beginning...it certainly helps. Shockingly, I can sit just fine now. No pain at all. I didn't really try sitting in the 1st week though. As far as walking goes, my wife and I currently walk daily. I walked a little during the 1st week, but I was a little sore. Hope this helps.
Yah i got a hole to at the top of my crack. I finally went to the doctor and he said its a pilonidal cyst. Well i talked to the surgeon and he said theres a 50% chance of it not healing and can take up to 3 surgerys.. Im scared i dunno what to do... Btw im only 17 too

can you tell me, that gotta hurt like HELL!
how is it? i guess you use painkillers.
But can you sit at all?
and if you have to just stand up, what about walking.. doesent that hurt even?
im much of a ''sitter'' sitting alot.
that might be the reason i got one of those cysts to but, i cant imagine the pain when you sit :o
