  • What kind of melodica is that

  • I like your rendition a lot. This version sounds more like the original tune it was based off of.

    Very cool!

  • it sounds like the lambada XD

  • i gotta say that you ARENT the best melodica player ive seen but you are better than me because i ccan only do 2 things with variations on each.... one soungs like that random scary music you hear in some movies... and the other is a kings entrace XD

  • Now play through the fire and flames :D

  • You should play with both of your hands, you'd play a lot faster and more fluid. Other than that, good job.

  • many fakes, but still good choise of instrument ^_^_^

  • HO YEAH breda!! muy weno

  • of course you're asian

  • Wow, that's awesome. I had no idea what a Melodica was until our Greek professor asked if I would like to play one--since I used to play Flute. It's more addicting than tetris! Can't wait to learn random songs on it...and then I'll probably have to go buy one just because. Thanks, and great playing!

  • where do nyou get the notes????

  • Can u send me the notes/chords/tabs whatevvatheefuck it is :D?!

  • I feel like such a nerd for saying this but... I HAVE THE SAME MELODICA.

  • can you play chords on that?

  • @MooseChoob You sure can! :)

  • i wanna play that song now

  • are you in mightyfools?!?!?!

  • Holy crap, I'm playing that same melodica right now!

  • yeah you are one of the best melodica players i've seen here on youtube you really should do some instructional video i know i'd watch them over and over. keep up the good work brother!

  • how so.

    * no offense* but theres no reason to take a huge gaping breath thats audible and theres no reason for your cheeks to puff out.

  • @dr3wb1xcub3

    Thank you brother!!!

  • @hunggystar I...think he was being sarcastic?

  • lol when i first saw this instrument along time ago i thought it was a toy XD

  • I would like to see you playing of the melodica but you must certainly know not played of the whole, no instrument...

  • @hunggystar actually im a bassoon artist and a piano teacher so you decide yourself haha

  • I really like your videos. Nowadays it's rare to find people who play the melodica. Is it possible for you to please make an instructional video? Please?:) Many people would want to learn;) Personally, I can play be ear but I'm not good with it yet. I do not even know what the black keys stand for. Thank you and more power. Keep playing, you're really good!

  • the black keys represent the sharps/flats. I would recomend to learn melodica you should learn some basic music theory, such as major scales, and chords

  • Yep tara21shinme, you are so kind but unfortunately don't I play any more of the melodica for a long time, I changed instrument now I play of the ukulele but thanks to your encouragement will I take again my melodica are you a melodica?

Thank you very much for all

  • try try

  • Como se puede ser tan paquete? :D

  • Is it difficult to play ? How long did you begin it ?

    Thx.

    (From Belgium)

  • it's rather easy, actually

  • @Lovesmusic68

Hey, do you mean the instrument or the game(Tetris)?

Well, Tetris is easy, it depends on concentration and speed kind of...

If you are talking about the instrument... I dont have any idea.

    Greetings from Mexico

  • This instrument looks like it would be very difficult to play if you are a smoker.

(unless you LIKE coughing up your lungs)

  • Isn't that the case for any wind instruments?

  • @dovermoreno Actually since it's small and there's no reed or anything, it's pretty easy. You can smoke everyday, and still play just about any wind instrument. You just need to breath from your diaphragm, take controlled breaths, and don't gasp for air (or take big breaths stretching out your shoulders).

Melodicas are great because just about anyone can pick it up, and they are one of the more fun/less serious instruments.

  • What is H note. Notes only run from A to G 7 notes.

  • it's a B. Brahms and some other German composers referred to B natural as H and B flat as B

  • Actually I Think it's just H is equivalent to B, not B natural only, because there is also "H moll" which is B flat. But, the essencial point was there anyway :)

  • @TheVMCP

H is equivalent to B natural, and "H moll" means "B minor." Bb is the same in both systems; no one uses Hb.

  • @r0berito Actually, Bb (in the English system) means B (in the German system). You are correct about H meaning B, though.

It would have been better if they all just used the Italian system, like the rest of the world does. ^^

  • that sounds so russian

  • the tetris melodie is an part of an russian folksong

  • oh cool, any idea what the song is called?

  • i know it few times ago but i forgot it ^^

  • Comment removed

  • It's called Korobeiniki :)

  • but everyone knows it like the tretris theme :)

  • korobeiniki

  • I AM IN LOVE.

  • can you play strictely rude by big d and the kids table?

  • i got one and its pretty cool, and its "hohner"

  • I WANT ONE I WANT ONE!!!!

  • What is the name of that melodica?

  • i think its hohner or höhner

  • it's the hohner alto model

  • It's a russian folk song - "Korobeyniki".

  • tetris has alot of tetris chords lol.

  • Don't quit the day job.

  • Try ebay, tons, but expensive for shipping! Anyways, pretty cool ;p

  • A music shop!?

Anything more specific!? What music shop?

Do they still sell ones like that or is all the fangly dangly new ones with extendable mouthpieces!?

  • Where on earth do you get a melodica!?

    I want one so bad!

  • everywhere!! in the music shop

  • oooopaaa!

  • Um, he's playing katyushka

  • well done half mark but that doesn't mean u did bad

    good job

  • aaaaaaaaahahahahahaahh

    fantastiiiiiic

  • sweet

  • it's a hohner alto melodicA

  • hi I could know to the brand of yours melodic? thanks

  • That was awesome! Can you make tutorials from it? I always learned my songs with CDEFGA H cdefga b c""

  • lol you really want to learn from someone who barely pulls it off?

  • yeah he really isnt' very good.

  • Did HubbyBunny just mention an H note? I've only played that note once and it caused me to go deaf.

  • Germans use H notes.

  • Yeah, that would be using a scale involving quarter tones. I assumed that because he was using a standard melodica then the H note wouldn't be involved lol.

  • No, you're wrong. H notes exist in all intruments usging standard tuning and standard scales. It just depends on how you choose to name the notes.

  • Fair enough, some people name notes H. I take it back then. I've been misinformed :)

  • indeed you have lol.

  • an H note is german notation for a B flat.

  • incorrect. "H" refers to "hard B" which is actually a B natural. whereas the western B flat is called "B". I know, it sounds ridiculous but "H" actually refers to the note being difficult to play on certain instruments.

  • wow, I actually know what you are talking about, but the way you worded you could say X notes exist it just depends on how you choose to name the notes.

  • Yah but callin something an X note would be extremely counter productive because you'd be the only soul on the planet who would understand what it means. Whereas H notes are commonly used.

  • I would not be an effective method for reading music but it wouldn't really be counter productive, but I understand what you are saying

  • i have one in green is fun!

  • your well good at it

  • Good try!

  • sos un genio, zorro

  • i own a melodica...i use two hands. i think thats the way youre supposed to do it

  • does your left hand do anything?

  • Can't you see it's cupping the melodica's balls

  • niice haha

  • @gmason4 It's?

  • Hoye!

  • Stop Being Cute.

  • es incredible

  • hatırla sevgilinin notalarıu çok spr çık

    iişi bnda

  • good job, but you messed up a few times. i think it was trouble with breathing. practice more and make a new video. :)

  • turkish

  • Spot-on! Nothing gets past you.

  • avcselcuk is not the only one to "spot-on!"

    Turkish! =D

  • have a listen to this band... the melodica solo at the end of the recording is absolutely awesome:

    video code is:

    6knrXkgMXno

  • i want a melodica soooooooo bad

    *thumbs up* good stuff!

  • trkısh

  • you ran out of air too quick, but its a lovely melodica :)

  • Aweesome !!

    Meldica is a cooool instrument.

  • hurray for melodicas! and tetris!

  • hey thats cool! you should learn to circular breathe it would probably help get someone who can play the didgeridoo to teach you its vedry beneficial!

  • sounds jweish xD

  • Garth Hudson plays a mean melodica on The Band's "Dixie"...

  • I have the basic Horner melodica, but can you bend notes on that type?????

  • I can't think of why you couldn't. Try saying "wah-o wah-o wah-o" while you exhale continuously.

  • Hooray, melodica! I have the soprano too. So much fun!

  • it's cheap!

  • How much does a melodica like yours cost???

  • Just so you know, I didn't steal your idea. I posted my video simply as a response to cutiemish. It was just happenstance that we played the same song on practically the same instrument. Awesome nonetheless.

  • its a Hohner Melodica i quess

  • What kind of melodica is that :O? It's not blown through that regular "straw" thing AND it has those beautiful black keys for the left hand, not to mention the great red color :O!

  • I believe it's a Hohner. I have one in green but mines like 20 years old. A lovely instrument but not as good a range as the ones with the 'straw' on them.

  • Hey this looks really familiar.

  • sehr schön :-)

  • Koribeiniki at one of it's best! (I forgot how to spell it)

  • niiiiiiiiiice

  • this kind of sounds like an eastern european folk music melody to me.

  • It's originally Russian!

  • That's what the tetris theme is (Russian)

  • Genius !
