i gotta say that you ARENT the best melodica player ive seen but you are better than me because i ccan only do 2 things with variations on each.... one soungs like that random scary music you hear in some movies... and the other is a kings entrace XD
Wow, that's awesome. I had no idea what a Melodica was until our Greek professor asked if I would like to play one--since I used to play Flute. It's more addicting than tetris! Can't wait to learn random songs on it...and then I'll probably have to go buy one just because. Thanks, and great playing!
yeah you are one of the best melodica players i've seen here on youtube you really should do some instructional video i know i'd watch them over and over. keep up the good work brother!
I really like your videos. Nowadays it's rare to find people who play the melodica. Is it possible for you to please make an instructional video? Please?:) Many people would want to learn;) Personally, I can play be ear but I'm not good with it yet. I do not even know what the black keys stand for. Thank you and more power. Keep playing, you're really good!
the black keys represent the sharps/flats. I would recomend to learn melodica you should learn some basic music theory, such as major scales, and chords
Yep tara21shinme, you are so kind but unfortunately don't I play any more of the melodica for a long time, I changed instrument now I play of the ukulele but thanks to your encouragement will I take again my melodica are you a melodica?
@dovermoreno Actually since it's small and there's no reed or anything, it's pretty easy. You can smoke everyday, and still play just about any wind instrument. You just need to breath from your diaphragm, take controlled breaths, and don't gasp for air (or take big breaths stretching out your shoulders).
Melodicas are great because just about anyone can pick it up, and they are one of the more fun/less serious instruments.
Actually I Think it's just H is equivalent to B, not B natural only, because there is also "H moll" which is B flat. But, the essencial point was there anyway :)
Yeah, that would be using a scale involving quarter tones. I assumed that because he was using a standard melodica then the H note wouldn't be involved lol.
incorrect. "H" refers to "hard B" which is actually a B natural. whereas the western B flat is called "B". I know, it sounds ridiculous but "H" actually refers to the note being difficult to play on certain instruments.
wow, I actually know what you are talking about, but the way you worded you could say X notes exist it just depends on how you choose to name the notes.
Yah but callin something an X note would be extremely counter productive because you'd be the only soul on the planet who would understand what it means. Whereas H notes are commonly used.
hey thats cool! you should learn to circular breathe it would probably help get someone who can play the didgeridoo to teach you its vedry beneficial!
Just so you know, I didn't steal your idea. I posted my video simply as a response to cutiemish. It was just happenstance that we played the same song on practically the same instrument. Awesome nonetheless.
What kind of melodica is that :O? It's not blown through that regular "straw" thing AND it has those beautiful black keys for the left hand, not to mention the great red color :O!
I believe it's a Hohner. I have one in green but mines like 20 years old. A lovely instrument but not as good a range as the ones with the 'straw' on them.
What kind of melodica is that

Hey, do you mean the instrument or the game(Tetris)?
Well, Tetris is easy, it depends on concentration and speed kind of...
If you are talking about the instrument... I dont have any idea.
Greetings from Mexico

This instrument looks like it would be very difficult to play if you are a smoker.
(unless you LIKE coughing up your lungs)

Isn't that the case for any wind instruments?

What is H note. Notes only run from A to G 7 notes.
bartlettbooks 2 years ago
it's a B. Brahms and some other German composers referred to B natural as H and B flat as B
kagrandamarda 2 years ago 2
Actually I Think it's just H is equivalent to B, not B natural only, because there is also "H moll" which is B flat. But, the essencial point was there anyway :)
TheVMCP 2 years ago
@TheVMCP
H is equivalent to B natural, and "H moll" means "B minor." Bb is the same in both systems; no one uses Hb.
r0berito 2 years ago
@r0berito Actually, Bb (in the English system) means B (in the German system). You are correct about H meaning B, though.
It would have been better if they all just used the Italian system, like the rest of the world does. ^^
