It turned out to be the part that plugs into the bulb. The plastic had melted quite a bit, so there must have been a short or something. I just went to the junk yard and cut one from an older civic then cut mine at the wire and spliced the new one in. Worked like a charm.
i had an hid kit without a relay and after changing from 15k to 30k one side went out. i put stock bulbs and the one side would be dim and one side would be okay. i turn on the high beams and one side would turn on and the other would turn off. Any suggestions?

could either be a bad ground or lighting relay im not sure
